Just purchased a new Airport Express 802.11N instal with new hi speed Xfinity moden in same location. Cant get a green light on the 2 remote client airports located in other spaces in home. Help?
What is the exact model of the Xfinity modem that you have? Is the new AirPort Express connected directly to this modem by Ethernet?
By "remote client airports" do you mean additional AirPort base stations or Apple computers?

At least one of the items listed in the search window is not among your purchases in the App Store. Move each such item to the Trash. You may be prompted for your administrator password. Empty the Trash.

ITunes 11 Airplay works for one Airport express, can't see the other
I have two Airport Express units in my house - both working, both with speakers hooked up to them. My iPhone can send music to both of them, but iTunes 11 only shows one of them. Any ideas?

Ability to "create" a faster 802.11n wireless network
Ability to "join" an existing wireless network and provide an ethernet signal
Ability to "extend a wireless network" if the network has been created by another "n" Apple router.
Ability to support multiple printers when used with a powered hub
These "features" may or may not benefit you. How were you planning to use the "new" AirPort Express in your network? -

You can connect to the Internet via the Ethernet port or wirelessly. To connect either way you need to have internet service from an Internet Service Provider, or via Wi-Fi. To connect wirelessly at home you need a wireless router like an Airport Extreme base station.

I just purchased a wireless N network adapter for the TIVO premier and am trying to use my apple airport express to connectand it is in the another room. I am only receiving one bar of strength on my network adapter. How can I raise the signal strength of my airport express.
There are several things that might help, not all of which would be feasible depending on your situation: (1) Move the TiVo unit and AirPort Express closer together. (2) Use another AirPort Express to "extend" the network of the first AirPort Express. Put the second AirPort Express half way between the first AirPort Express and the TiVo unit. (3) In the general case, Power-Line equipment might allow the TiVo unit to get a good signal, but it's likely that the Ethernet port of your AirPort Express is probably connected to your broadband modem, so that solution wouldn't work for you. (4) Changing the band or channel that the AirPort Express is using might help. If the TiVo unit is connection on the 5 GHz band, try one of the three-digit channels, which are allowed to use higher power.

I just bought a nano and am trying to sync to itune on my mac. It tells me I need the latest version of itune. When I try to download this it tells me I need a new OS. I have updated both and my nano still will not sync. Any suggestions?
Numbers documents from iOS need Numbers 3.2 on a Mac to open. And Numbers 3.2 requires Mavericks. If you are using Mavericks you can get Numbers 3.2 from the Mac App Store. It will be free IF you have Numbers 2 (iWork '09) installed. Otherwise you must buy it.
Your other option is to send the Numbers file as an Excel file via e-mail to yourself to open with an earlier version of Numbers. -

No, you cannot seperate the audio and video stream.
You can use optical audio to a sound system (I use sony sound bar) and play the audio via that.

It sounds like you want to setup your Airport Express to Airplay music from iTunes. I found an article with steps to help you get this setup:
Connecting to an existing Wi-Fi network, exclusively for iTunes music
AirPort Express used exclusively for AirPlay by setting it up in Client Mode.
Choose this configuration if the computer containing your iTunes library may be out of direct range of the AirPort Express, but is within range of the Wi-Fi network.
How to Set It Up
Connect your AirPort Express to your home stereo or powered speakers.
From your computer, join the wireless network. Use the AirPort status menu in the menu bar on a Mac. On a Windows-based computer, hold the pointer over the wireless connection icon until you see your AirPort network name (SSID), and choose it from the list if there are multiple networks available. Enter the network password, if necessary.
Open iTunes on your computer and choose the AirPort Express(es) you wish to stream music through from the speakers pop-up menu in the lower-right corner of the iTunes window.

I just upgraded to iTunes version 10.6.0.40 and now I am having problems connecting to my Airport Express and I get an error message 15000. Does anyone know what that means? I am using an ethernet cable so it is not a wireless problem. Trying to find out if this is realated to the iTunes upgrade. Any ideas out there?

My airport express no longer shows up in Airport Utility since I got a new router.
Hi all, I'm scratching my head at this one.
For years I've had an Airport Express and it has worked fine. I was using it simply to stream music from iTunes on my PC as well as my iPhone and iPad to my home theater which is in a different room. I had a Linksys WRT150N wireless router, and the Airport Express would join my existing network and stream music via Airplay.
A few days ago I replaced my Linksys router with a Netgear WNDR3800, and the Airport Express no longer connected. I assumed I had to set it up again, but it is not even recognized by Airport Utility, so I can't get to the setup screen. I tried performing a soft reset, hard reset, and attaching the Airport Express to one of my Netgear's LAN ports via Ethernet cable, but it still won't show up in Airport Utility. The amber light just flashes on the unit and I can't access any setup screens.
Am I missing something obvious? All of the help tips assume the Airport Express at least shows up in Airport Utility. In my Airport Utility there is nothing to select and it says "AirPort Utility was unable to find any AirPort wireless devices. Make sure the AirPort wireless device you want to set up is plugged in and in range of your computer, and then click rescan to try again."
I am running a PC with Windows 7 and using Airport Utility v. 5.6.1 for Windows.

-RobDid you try temporarily connecting an Ethernet cable from your PC to the AirPort Express to see if AirPort Utillty could "see" the AirPort Express that way? This method will work virtually all of the time unless the Windows Firewall or the PC's anti-virus program is blocking the connection attempt from your PC to the AirPort Express.
If you want to configure the Express using wireless only, you need to remember that when you reset the Expess back to default settings, it is now producing a wireless network with a name like Apple Network xxxxxx.
You must log on to the Apple Network xxxxxx wireless network first....no password is required.....and then open AirPort Utility so that your PC will establish a connection to the AirPort Express.
Once the AirPort Express has been configured to join your Netgear wireless network, you can log back on to your normal wireless network and all devices will be working with one another. -

Issue setting up new Airport Express on OS 10.8 and Airport Utility 6
My network is a lastest model Airport Extreme and computers running 10.8 Mountain Lion. I needed to extend my wireless network so I purchased the newer model Airport Express.
Using Airport Utility 6, I followed the screen prompts to extend the network and get 99% complete (screen prompts find the network to extend, join the network, and then begin to apply configurations to the Airport Express). It is during this last stage the configuration of the Airport Express fails, the light starts blinking amber and I get an "unreckognized error" in Airport Utility. No further information. I tried soft reset and factory resets on the Airport Express several times with the same result.
I have another computer still running 10.7 Lion and Airport Utility 5.6 and after another reset, figured I'd give it a try. I was able to connect to the Airport Express, configure it to extend the network, save the configuration and the status light turned green on the first try.
Not sure what's going on with OS X 10.8 and Airport Utility 6 but maybe this will help someone else get their network up and running.The first AirPort Express was introduced only nine years ago, not thirteen, but nevertheless, that's pretty old. Mountain Lion has features that will not work with an Express that old.
Nevertheless, it remains a perfectly functional device and still does everything it ever did. Use the technique described in this thread: I can't install airport utility 5.6 -
