HT4623 I tried to update my i phone and its stuck in connect to i tune mode, why is this?
I noticed i had an update, so i tried to update the software to fix some bug issues. When i tried to update it has remained in connect to itunes mode for several hours. What did i do wrong? How can i fix this?
Your phone is probably in recovery mode. You have to restore the phone via iTunes on your computer. Basically all of your data will be deleted once the phone is restored. Do you have any backup?

I have just tried to update my iPhone 5 adn its stuck with iTunes plug in sign, I have always used my I CLOUD.
Please someone help, Im lost without my phone!!Do this.
Turn your phone off: When you get to that itunes plug in sign, press and hold the power and home button until your screen goes black, and release those buttons when it goes black. ( make sure your phone is not plugged in your pc yet).
Now your phone is off.
Next do this: Press and hold power+home button for exactly 10 seconds, after 10 seconds pass, release the power button but keep holding your home button for exactly 13 seconds.
Now plug in your usb cord to your pc and then to iphone, and open up itunes. Itunes should say that there is a device in recovery mod discovered , and simply press RESTORE. Your iphone will restore and you'll be able to use your phone.

You will only lose data that you did not sync to your computer, or data you did not back up to iCloud. If you have synced or used iCloud then the data is stored for you.

tried updating my iphone today but it just continues to sit in the Itunes screen and can not do a thing with it.???
What iPad model and what iOS is it currently running? Are you trying to update the iOS via wifi or connected to your computer?
If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.1. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect the iPad to the computer, open iTunes. Then select the iPad under the Devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update.
Tip - If connected to your computer, you may need to disable your firewall and anitvirus software temporarily. Then download and install the iOS update. Be sure and backup your iPad before the iOS update. After you update an iPad (except iPad 1) to iOS 6.x, the next update can be installed via wifi (i.e., not connected to your computer).

i was trying to update ios and after i was complete i can not do anything with my phone now it just shows the charger with an arrow pointing to the itunes symbol,
i cant get out of that, what can i do?Most likely it is showing an cable connecting to an iTunes symbol which indicates the device is in recovery mode.

i tried updating my wifes phone on saturday morning. my wireless modem kept crashing and it restored her phone and it is blank. i cannot get it to upload anything so the phone is useless. can someone help
No one on this user to user forum is going to log into your computer to help you. Why would you want a stranger in your stuff anyway?
My suggestion is to take the phone to the nearest Apple Store and let them restore the phone for you. Then get your Internet problems sorted before trying to update any other iOS devices. -
i updated my iphone 5 successfully but itryed to update my moms iphone as well which is the iphone 4s jailbroken and as it was charging and she was updating it through her phone the 'connect to itunes' logo came on and so i connected it to itunes. When i connect it, it said that i had to restore before i connected it to itunes. I tryed restoring it a thousand times and it always ends up saying that it cant be restored, i connect it to itunes and it doesnt even show me the iphone summary. Please if anyone of you has the same problem and u fixed it and found a way to fix it please tell me how !!!!

Tried to update my ipad mini and its now stuck in restore mode
