  • I cannot open my iCloud account.

I have an iClout account set up and working on a computer and 2 iPads. I cannot open this account on this computer. I closed the account the other day,  the reason for which I cannot remember, but I could kick myself for doing it. Now when I try to open my account I get the message This Apple ID is valid but is not an ICloud account. I have been going in circles trying to open this account. My last resort would be the genius bar, but I would like to fix it myself although I am a novice and need all the help I can get.

  • HT4859 I need help! I know longer have access to the email that I opened my icloud account with and I can't remember my password. I have tried asking Apple for help and no one has been able to! Any advice

I need help! I no longer have access to the email that I opened my icloud account with many years ago and I can't remember my password anyway! However it continues to backup all my stuff. But I have no access to go in and delete items or manage my account. The pop-ups now tell me that my account is full and it will no longer be able to backup items. I would like to go in and delete items that I do not need to make room, but I can't! I have personally gone into the Apple genius store and presented the problem as well as called Apple support and talked with a live person. And no one has been able to help me. I cannot believe that I have basically lost my iCloud accessibility? I have a lot of money vested in music and priceless pictures! Please can someone help me?

I don't know what you mean by "closed" - icloud accounts stay in existence even if you disconnect all devices from the account.  You can't delete them.
If you don't recall the ID or the password, and if the link above doesn't provide another way to get to the account, then you are out of luck.

  • HT4436 Opening an Icloud Account

I have downloaded Icloud on my PC 3 times and every time it takes be to a login screen when I open it. I put in my Apple ID and Password but it comes back and says I have no Icloud account. How do I set up an account when it keeps taking me to a login screen?

    Hey Camalot10,
Thanks for the question. Do you have an Apple product that you can create an iCloud account with? iCloud accounts can be created on an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iOS 5 or later, or through System Preferences on a Mac with OS X Lion v10.7.4 or later. At this time, you cannot create an iCloud account on a PC.

  • Can anyone tell me how to open an icloud account?

Just purchased my 1st itunes video.  Thought it would sync automatically to my ipod but no, was told it is in the icould and I must download it from there.  Downloaded icloud to my pc but cannot find a single article on how to open an icloud account!

Your iCloud account details (user name and password) are exactly the same as your iTunes account, just sign in with those at https://www.icloud.com/#.
If you don't have an iTunes account then you can sign up in the iTunes store.
Edit: lol, if you bought the video from iTunes then obviously you have an account already!

  • Can you open an iCloud account without creating a new or using an old AppleID?

Got a new iPhone and had to skip the part of establishing an icloud account till later, cause I was having internet trouble, so it asked me to continue and go back later, then I saw that as I went into icloud in settings later that it is asking for me to creat another Apple ID if I want to set up an icloud account or use one I have for me? Very confusing and not very user friendly.  What options do I have?  Must I have an a new Apple ID to open an icloud account. I already have an iTunes account that is associated with my iphone and my mac and my AppleID.
My daughter is the one I want to set up an icloud account for so she can back up to it and to use the other features, but I dont want her items to be backed up on my icloud account. The issue is that I don't want her to be able to have her own iTunes account to make purchases, as she is too young, I will need to monitor them for a couple of years yet. I am not sure what to make up of the set up process. The set up instructions are telling me that for that phone to get a new icloud account, I must create a new Apple ID for it or use an existing one. The problem with creating a new one, is she will then be able to set up her own iTunes and appstore accounts and make her own unsupervised purchase I believe?
Presently as its setup now using her old iPod touch and now new iPhone, I create her a playlist in my iTunes account and we then sync her ipod touch or phone to it and she can then get those features and apps, photos that we assign to just her phone.
What is my best option for this situation or do I even have any? I didn't understand the supports page steps in getting an iCloud account and using it in my scenario. it states:
Using the same Apple ID for Store purchases and iCloud is recommended for most users. To use the same Apple ID, follow these steps:  iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch:   When you first set up your device running iOS 5 or later, enter the Apple ID you use for iTunes in the setup screens. It will be used for Store purchases and iCloud.  If you skipped the setup process, enter your Apple ID in Settings > iCloud and Settings > iTunes and App Stores.iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch:   or  You can use different Apple IDs for iCloud and Store purchases and still get all of the benefits of iCloud. Just follow these steps:  iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch:
When you first set up your device with iOS 5 or later, enter the Apple ID you want to use with iCloud. If you skipped the setup assistant, sign in to Settings > iCloud and enter the Apple ID you’d like to use with iCloud. In Settings > iTunes and App Stores, sign in with the Apple ID you want to use for Store purchases (including iTunes in the Cloud and iTunes Match). You may need to sign out first to change the Apple ID.  So must I now create a new Apple ID or can I just set up an iCloud account without any AppleID associated with her phone. And if I need a new AppleID, do I need to link it to a credit card?

go to the store and get an iTunes gift card.
you can create an account using that instead of a credit card.

  • I recently changed my apple ID but I not cannot access my iCloud account and I also keep getting a message pop up asking me for my old password with my old email address

Changed my apple ID email address which seemed to work but now cannot sign into iCloud account it still comes up with my old email address and I cannot access it also the message pops up all the time when just using ipad HELP

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")
Providing you are simply updating your existing details and not changing to another account, when you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your computer, you need to sign out of the account from your computer first, then sign back in using your updated details. (System Preferences > iCloud, click the sign out button)
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iTunes account on your iOS device, you need to sign out from your iOS device first, then sign back in using your updated details. (Settings > iTunes & App store, scroll down and tap your ID)
If you are using iMessages or FaceTime, you will also need to log out and into your ID there too.

  • HT204053 How does one open an ICloud account? I do have a valid an Apple ID. Please Help

How does one open an Icloud Account?

You can only create iCloud account on an iOS device (iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch) running iOS 5 or higher, or on a Mac running OS X Lion (10.7.5) or higher.  You do this by going to Settings>iCloud (on an iOS device) or System Preferences>iCloud (on a Mac) and signing in with your Apple ID.
Once you create your account you will then be able to sign into the account using the ID on your PC.

    Hello Asokwah,
Sign out from your pple Id on your Device and Go to https://appleid.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/MyAppleId.woa/ and then Sign In with your Apple Id here and Under your Primary Email Address click on Resend Next to Verification Email Sent. Now Go to your Email Account and Verify your Apple Id again by clicking in the Link inside the Mail that you might have received from Apple. Now Sign In on your Device and try to make a Purchase and if it is for the first time then you will be asked to Review your Account and if you have entered your Credit/Debit card in your Account then you will have to just Enter your 3 Digits CVV Number and then click on Done. And then you can try downloading any Application from AppStore or Music from iTunes Store and check if its working.

All you can do is re-use one of the accounts previously created, or create a new account to use on another iOS device or Mac (running OS X 10.7.2 or later), if you have one.
