HT4972 I want to update iPad but when I open go to settimgs and general there is no software update? It,s an older iPad and do not recall ever updating?
I want to update iPad 2 but it's older and do not recall ever updating. Not sure what ISO is loaded? When I go to settings and open the general there is no spot for update?
If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.1.3. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect the iPad to the computer, open iTunes. Then select the iPad under the Devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update.
Tip - If connected to your computer, you may need to disable your firewall and anitvirus software temporarily. Then download and install the iOS update. Be sure and backup your iPad before the iOS update. After you update an iPad (except iPad 1) to iOS 6.x, the next update can be installed via wifi (i.e., not connected to your computer).
Tip 2 - If you're updating via wifi, place your iPad close to your router to preclude getting a corrupted download.

Yes.
Updating from the iphone itself is ONLY available with ios 5 and above..
You update as always by opening itunes and connect the iphone. If there is an update available it will prompt you to update.
Your can ONLY updtae to the latest available software which is ios 6 -
I was exporting one of my iMovie projects, and then iMovie suddenly froze. I restarted my computer but when I opened iMovie my project wasn't there anymore. I don't have time machine is there a way to get my project back? PLEASE HELP
If the system just Restarted on it's own, Shut down while you were working on something then started back up all those changes, edits, you had done in that app, document, are gone.

My App Store Icon has a Badge showing that there are 8 Updates available. When I open up the App Store and go to Updates, the screen is blank. This is the first time I've experienced this and I don't find any other discussions in the Apple Communities. This is only happening on my iPad 4. My iPhone 5 is working perfectly.
It seems Apple is having some issues at their end. There have been hundreds of posts on the forum with the same problem.

My sister bought me an ipod touch less than a month ago. when he first came, he was conecting normal to my wifi, but today, he isnt. I use the same wifi at my laptop, and its perfectly working. My ipod identify the network, conects to it, but when I open an app that needs it, it doesnt work. What should I do?

My ipad mini is showing nothing when i open the updates tab on appstore whereas it continously shows three updates available on homescreen.
There are a number of other threads from people reporting a problem with a blank Updates tab in the App Store app - it looks like there is a problem at Apple's end which they need to fix.
Some posts are suggesting that you if you go into the Purchased tab in the App Store app you might be able to update the apps from there, though you will need to scroll through the list to find those with updates and individually update them. -
I want to sort bookmarks, but when I open library window it is empty.
Bookmarks work OK when I click to open, I tried the suggested method of opening library widow, but cannot proceed as there are no files or folders just blank windows.
You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database file in the Firefox profile folder.

Make sure you have inadvertently turned on private browsing on your phone. It will not sync iCloud tabs if private browsing is turned on. There are some other troubleshooting steps you can look through here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5372.

On the dropdown menu where my bookmarks are, I select "show all bookmarks", which opens up a window called "Library". I should have hundreds of bookmarks, but none of them are showing in this window.
This can be a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

I am traveling in Europe and cannot purchase items with this iPad ...reset iPad that belongs to my sister for this trip. Traveling with my nano which is registered. When I try to purchase it ask me security questions, which I do no recall answereing. When I answer with correct answers it says they are wrong...hey I know my first concert and car. I am not traveling with my cell phone registered to my acct...do not have an international plan. Suggestions...
When you say the iPad is your sister's and was reset, did you remove all settings and set it up with your Apple ID? If not, and it still has your sister's Apple ID then the security questions are hers and you must use her answers.

Of course you can, just remember that iphoto replaces the finder. It's the manager for your photos.

Wanted to change my playlists and music, so went to >settings>music>delete data. So now, within the usage menu, the "music" shows "no data". But, when I open the Music app, it still shows the list of music that was supposedly deleted. And the weird thing is, it is only the list. There is no content. No actual music. How do I get rid of this lists and get it to a clean slate???

Go to the Preferences>Performance tab and uncheck the "Use Graphics Processor" option. Adobe are aware of this issue, and are investigating, but in the meantime unchecking that option should sort out your Develop module issues.

hyy i m using ipad and i want to upgrade it to latest os update 8 but when i tried to update it got updated only to 5.1.1 what should i do to get further update??
If your iPad has no front or back cameras, then you have an original iPad 1.
The original iPad 1 cannot be upgraded any further than iOS 5.1.1.
