HT5085 Why is iTunes Radio not available in the UK?

I was trying to get iTunes Radio on my iPad Mini, I couldn't see the tab so I checked where it was available in the USA and Australia, why is this?

Presumably Apple have to get agreement from the record labels/rights-holders for songs for each country - US (I assume) was effectively a 'trial' to see how it was received/worked/take-up, and now that Australia has been added I assume that other countries will also be added. Though if/when it might be added here to the UK we won't know until Apple announce something.

    No, we don't know why, but it does not really matter.  You may buy MP3s from any online music retailer that sells in your area, and add the MP3s to your iTunes library.

Not to brag but in my house there are 2 iPhone 5's - and I'll be getting the new iPhone 5s when it becomes available - 2 ipod touch's, an iPad, 2 3rd gen Apple TV's, an iMac and a MacBook Pro 17". That said, I am getting sick and tired of Ireland being left out or behind the UK. Aplle have two European bases in Ireland and they say that there isn't a big enough population for an Apple Store, fair enough I suppose but I suspect that the real reason is that if they did open one here it would impact on the Mobile Phone companies stores and the authorised dealers. This means that we cant order iPhones from the apple store nor can we purchase gift certificates because they are only redeemable in an Apple Store so, my nearest one is in London! Also, eventhough we are spitting distance from the UK, we never get allocated with new iPhone's on the first day of release. That really bugs me. Now, after all the hype about iTunes Radio, we aren't included for it either! Why not?

    Thank you for your responses.. To Sjazbec, At least you guys in Germany and the Netherlands have some kind of  posters from Apple to let you know that the feature is not available.
    There is no such warning on the Irish Apple site.!
    My point was that, I would not have even considered trying to reorganize my itunes library had I known that the feature is not available in Ireland.
    And that falls into the domain of Apple Ireland advertising.. which I"m sorry to say is false and misleading.
    There are no "posters" telling the Irish customer that icloud / itunes music is not available!
    I"m not blaming Apple for not "having the feature" in Ireland.. I am upset at them for falsing advertising a feature that they cannot for whatever reason deliver to Irish customers..
    To Keats 2010 LOL... Trust me there were lots of clouds in Ireland today!.. It's a long time since we've seen the sun!.. As for getting your head around the basics.. I could talk you through everything that doesn't work in Ireland if it's any help lol

    That would be up to whoever holds the distribution rights for that movie for the UK. You'd have to contact them and ask.

    Michael is correct.  While iTunes Match has been rolled out in many countries, India certainly is not the only country where it is not yet available.

    but you won't be able to play that on an Apple TV only on a computer (on a Mac you will need to install Silverlight - frankly I'd buy the Blu-Ray or DVD).

    I'm using a 2nd Gen Apple TV, which was successfully upgraded to the 6.0 version of the Apple TV software. The iTunes Radio icon appears on my home screen. When I select it, I see a spinning gear, and a 'Loading' message. I then see an empty box labeled, 'iTunes Radio Terms and Conditions' with two buttons below it, labeled 'Agree' and 'Disagree.' When I select 'Agree' and press the select button, I get a message that reads: 'iTunes Radio is currently unavailable. Try again later.' iTunes Radio is working on all of my other devices: Mac, iPhone and iPad. Thoughts?

    Thanks, Winston. In checking my account, I saw that iTunes Match was not set to 'On.' That fixed the problem.

    There is a song called "The Moment I Knew" by Taylor Swift. I want to get it off of the U.S. iTunes Store, but it's only available as a ringtone, not a song. And the weirdest thing is that the song is available in other countries along with the Deluxe Edition of Red, but in the U.S., Taylor Swift usually releases the bonus tracks as singles.     It is not currently available in the US Store. So, you won't be able to get it via iTunes. You can purchase the Red Deluxe CDs at Target, which has the song on them.

  • Why is iTunes Radio not working?

    when attempting to listen to any of the stations and press the play button it switches to the pause button as if ready to play and then quickly switches back to the play button and nothing plays.

    I have fixed my problem.... Do you ever move the date forward in settings (maybe for Candy Crush?) If  you go in to settings and move the date forward a day or two, then go and start iTunes Radio and while its playing go back and set your date correctly or automatic.
    Worked for me.
