HT5132 Aperture mobile me problems
How can I stop the transfer of albums from mobile me I have several albums & it takes forever to do this process I have backups already I don't want this to happen its stopping me using Aperture please help !

Quit Aperture - force quit if necessary
Disconnect the internet (Wi-fi, Ethernet, whatever you have), before you launch Aperture again.
Now the panel should no longer appear - if it does, press the "Learn more" button, not o.k.
Then use the "File > Web Accounts > Manage Web Accounts" menu entry from Aperture's main menu bar and remove "MobileMe" from the list of accounts in the accounts pane by pressing "-".
After that, open the System Preferences > MobileMe > Accounts pane and sign out of MobileMe.

Aperture Video Import Problem - from Lumix GH4: Imported clips have their dates changed to the import date. The files show up on the hard drive with import date not created date, but many of these same files are not showing up in Aperture. Sometimes the clips actually show up with the current import but take on the video information from a previously imported file.
It was suggested I move this question to IPhoto or IMovie which I did.
Well moving to a different discussion group did not provide an answer to this question either. But what I finally did was import one batch of photos and videos into IPhoto for a given day at a time. Working with these I could change the date and times in order to get them in the original sequench taken. Then I would create an album with that batch. These would all be on the same day (IMove was closed for this phase). Then I would open IMovie, generate the thumbnails for that album, and select the album I had created. This was necessary because the importing process in IPhoto was using incorrect dates for my video so it was a real struggle finding them in IMove until I developed this approach.
I believe that this whole process was so screwy because I was importing from an external hard drive not a camera. I had these photos on a PC and did not have the original cameras to use to import directly which I am fairly sure would have made this easier! -
When i try to activate iMessage i could see the comment "waiting for activation" for more than 24hrs.

Using a SDHC card adapter I can import directly on my iPad2 videos (.mov) taken with a Panasonic DMC-ZS3. The same video files (same file format) imported in Aperture 3.3 cannot be synchronized with iPad. Is Aperture causing the problem?
Oh, baby! This bad boy flies!! Here's what to expect:
I had 40,000 images in Aperture 3 and it was dog slow at everything. I installed 3.1 update today. It took 5 minutes to update the database and then behaved marginally better than before at ASIC library navigation. I was disappointed.
Then I QUIT the app. It took a couple of hours to "update files for sharing" with a counter that went to 110,000 images. So it must have updated every thumbnail and variation of preview. Turned it back on , and BAM. Came up fully in seconds. Paused for 10 seconds ten everything was lickrty split. For the first time ever, I can use the Projects view with all 791 projects and scroll quickly. I even put it in photos modevand whipped thru all 49,000 images!
Haven't done anybprocessing yet, but i'm liking it!!

My home network is used both by my macbook and my wife's windows pc. Considering that, I would like to know if we can share our pictures with each other (specially because I intend to store all of them into a NAS storage - WD My Cloud, probably).No you can not - neither iPhoto nor Aperture has any cross platform capability
You can share photos with the PC using MyPhotoStream or Shared PhotoStreames
You can not share the iPhoto library
And you can not put the iPHoto library on a NAS - it MUST always be on a volume formatted Mac OS extended (journaled) and mube on a fast wired local connection - it can not be on a Network
There are Digital Asset Managers that can do what you want - iPhoto and Aperture can not

Aperture 3 + Mobile Me = problems
If I choose to update my MobileMe galleries from the settings menu, Aperture needs very long for these updates and will upload some photos from some Albums although nothing has changed since the last update. During the update Aperture is unresponsive.
At the moment it seems to update in an infinite loop: when one Album is updated, Aperture adds another - already updated - one to the the list of items to synchronize and again uploads photos it uploaded 15 minutes ago.
So my recommendation for people who are heavily using MobileMe galleries for distributing their work: wait for 3.1.

"This occurs if you publish images or videos with identical names to the same MobileMe Gallery album. Make sure that each file has a unique name. For example, if you try to publish an image and a video both named "My Vacation" to the same album, the alert will occur. To resolve this issue with an existing album:
1. Rename one of the files.
2. Republish it to a new MobileMe Gallery album.
3. Delete the old album."

HT5132 Aperture keeps trying to move a nonexistent Mobile Me album
Ever time I open Aperture I get a "Moving MobileMe albums" window. Nothing else happens but Aperture lock up.

try to remove Aperture's User preferences file from the User Library:
The user preferences are hidden by default; reveal them from the Finder's "Go" menu:
Quit Aperture, if it is running (or hanging):
Open the user library by using the Finder's "Go > Go to Folder" menu and hold down the options-key, until "Library" appears in the drop down menu. Select it.
In the widow that will open, scroll down to "Preferences"
From the "Preferences" folder remove "com.apple.Aperture.plist".
Then try to launch Aperture again.

HT5132 Aperture mobileme migrating message problem
I keep getting this message every time I open Aperture. How can I get it to stop?
That is not the normal behaviour. By now Aperture should have stopped nagging, since you cannot download your content any longer.
When the message appears, click the "Learn more" button, not the o.k. button.
In Aperture, open the Preferences and go to the "Web" tab. If you still see "MobileMe" in the "Accounts" pane, remove the account.
If you do not see "MobileMe" in the "Accounts" pane, but Aperture is prompting you to migrate nevertheless, quit Aperture, open your User Library and clear the Caches (the library is hidden:
Use the Finder's "Go" menu to open it: Click "GO" and hold down the "Options" key, until "Library" appears in the drop-down menu - select it) and navigate to the "Caches" folder.
Remove the file "mmsunset.plist" to the Desktop. This file tells Aperture how long to prompt for "MobileMe". Maybe it is corrupted.
If this still does not suffice remove your preferences from the user library (you home folder ~
/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Aperture.plist), and try again. After removing the preferences file, you will have to reset all preferences you set using the preferences panel however.

everytime i try installing it, it will not make any of my other software work. Like Final Cut Pro 5.1.2 and all of its studio software.
I've tried installing alone but still it does not work. I've never had any problem with it before. The version i am installing is version 1.5. is there any hardware issue or software issue that i dont know. Im thinking maybe it's photo booth. there has to be something. Pro applications quit unexpectedly on launch or quit, or display non-customary menus and dialogs
If you experience one or more of the following issues:
When you open a Pro application (any listed below), it displays Aqua-themed menus and Open, Save, and Import dialogs instead of the usual Pro appearance.
A Pro application may quit unexpectedly when you open it, or quit unexpectedly when you choose File > Quit.
These could occur after you update to Pro Application Support 3.0 or 3.1 either manually or using Software Update on Mac OS X 10.3.x and then upgrade or migrate to Mac OS X 10.4.x.

Mobile Home problem with Magic Triangle
So I have been setting up a magic triangle for the past few days with an OSX Lion server. I believe it is working properly. The server is running OD and is bound to my AD. I have made an OD group which contains my AD users, and I have set that OD group to have limited application preferences (one of them is to block the App store). All my users have MacBook Airs which they will take off-site, so I enabled mobile home folders in the AD bind and in the OD group mobility settings (with confirmation required).
When I tested it today, with Airs running 10.7.4, here is what happened.
When the system was on the network, it would log a user in, ask to create the mobile account, and successfully create it. Once logged in they were limited to the application preferences that I set on the server. I considered this a complete success.
When I disconnected them from the network, I had expected that they would still be able to log in and the system would fuction the same way with the exception that they would not sync their changes until they were back on-site.
Instead...
When the same user trys to log in it says the AD server is unavailable and then logs them in anyway. However, once they are at the desktop, none of the permissions are in place. They can go to the app store, or do anything else they feel like. Once they are back on the network, all the server based preferences reappear and lock the system down.
So my questions are:
1. Should a mobile account based system compain that it cant find the AD domain when offsite?
2. Why is it not checking some cached verison of the permissions and locking down the notebook when offsite? I can tell that it is caching the user name and password (as loging in as a user the air has never seen before will simply give a login error), as it will let them in, but it is not holding any preferences.
3. How can I prevent users from simply disconnecitng from the network to bypass all my server based policies?

I'm having a similar problem with exactly the same setup, our clients are 10.7.4 wired not wireless the OD server is 10.7.4 and the clients are authenticating via an AD 2008 R2 domain.
We've had this scenario in the past running 10.5 and 10.6 without any problems but with 10.7.4 the clients' MCX settings are lost when they're not connected to our network. It seems to only lose the settings applied to user groups but not computer groups.
At this moment in time I don't have an aswer I'm still looking, have you found a solution?
I know configuration profiles are the way forward and in the future I'll move over to them but they don't seem to work that well with PHD's at the moment.
If anyone has any thought on this it would be much appreciated.

Mobile me: problem syncing/ computer idenity issue?/ ical
hi,
so about 2 months or go my computer (a macbook pro 2.8 ghz) would tell me that the password for mobile me was incorrect, when it wasn't. i could keep getting mail (my .me account) but the sync system kept telling me the password was not correct. so, the only way to sync was to plug my phone (3gs) into my computer.
then i get an email (about a week ago) that i need to update my mobile me calendar, so i do. then my calendar has the -on my mac, and now - my mobileme account. so now i have duplicates of everything! since both (the on my mac, and my .me) are the same.
i go ahead and delete the .me account from my ical since i don't want 2 copies of everything.
so then i again try to sync my phone with out it plugged in. i get a message that tells me (basically, b/c i cant remember it) that this .me account is already associated to a computer named 'my computer's name'. i have one laptop, that i have had for 2 years now. my phone has not been synced to another computer ever. it told me i should rename the computer, but i know the computer it is talking about, and it is the only one i am on. so i decide to tell it to ignore it, or whatever word it actually said. it tells me some information might get lost, but i know there is only 1 computer. i almost feel like my computer is having split personality disorder right now, confusing itself with another.
so now i still can't sync. the last window is such, "you are nw syncing some of your information with mobile me for the first time." (what, no im not. i always sync.) "to avoid losing this information on your computer, merge the information on your computer with the information on mobileme." the options are then, merge information, replace information on this computer, or replace information on mobileme.
i don't know what to choose. i have a fear that if i merge i will again get everything. 2 sets of contacts, 2 sets of calendars, etc. i don't know which of the other 2 to choose since i don't know which one it is considering a master.
i'm just lost. i really want to bring it in for mac support. is that possible? or can someone please help.

thank you so much. That seems to have completely corrected the problem. At least, it's not erasing it on my laptop. I'll have to check it tomorrow morning on the desktop, but it looks like this was a complete win.

Mobile network problem in my lumia 520
Once network gone, I have to Restart it then again mobile network come.calling proble occurs many times even network is dispayed. Network problem sshould be rectify.

Do you experience the network issue regardless of your area? Aside from calling, are the other network services working fine like SMS messaging and mobile data connection? Is this for a Lumia 520 as well? If so, I hope you're using a standard microSIM and not a cut one as this is what the phone is designed to use.
BTW, the reset that the Nokia Care Center recommended is the one under Settings > about, is that right? After the reset, have you checked if the system apps are updated? Go to Settings > swipe to applications > store > check for updates.

IPhone 2g mobile internet problem. Please help!

I need your help to clarify the situation.
I am the user of iPHONE 8GB since October 2007.
Most recently, I found my phone bills have mobile internet access fee which I did not use (I left my iphone at home during my travel from Jan 13 - Feb 5, 2009). I made several phone calls to Fido, Canadian cellular telephone service provider to understand the matter. They gave me different sets of story. Today, their representative said that might be caused by Apple by sending the data to update my iphone.
Would somebody help me to understand the situation.

Can your provider at least tell you where the calls originated from? I mean what sites were visited? If you are not Chinese and your provider can tell you that all the charges relate to visiting sites in Chinese, then that might give you a clue.
As the proud owner of a new 3G phone for only a week I am pretty much of a virgin when it comes to iPhone problems. Haven't even got my first bill yet.
In addition I have a wireless network in my home and unless I am actually making a phone call I don't even unlock the SIM. My router is always switched off whenever I am not at the computer so no-one can park their cars out the front and use it. -
Finally I managed to get my MacBook set-up and configured for network access and a user set-up as a mobility user.
Everything works with one teasing problem: I can't change in "Users & Groups" the Mobile Account Settings for the user.
Everything is greyed out.
FYI: Do to a misunderstanding on my side I originally configured the mobility settings in profilemanager. They been pushed
through succesfully.
Then I was wondering why I can't get them changed as the mobnile user. Then I learned that the user can't change them
if they are configured via profilemanager.
O.K. so I deleted them in profilemanager, change was pushed through succesfully but I still can't change them as they are still greyed out.
Where did I go wrong ?
What can I do ?
What I would love to have is that only the the docs, pictures and Music folders are been synced.
Help/guidance is more then appreciated.Found the problem. No response necessary anymore.

Iphoto and aperture start up problem with Yosemite
Just found out that after installing Yosemite, both my iPhoto and aperture library took very long in order to show up contents after start up. Not sure what causes the delay, does anyone else experience the same problem? For reference, I am using late 2013 15" Macbook pro.
In the case of Aperture you can open the Activity window and check what Aperture is doing.
From Aperture's main menu bar: Window > Show Activity
When Aperture launched the first time, I saw the following activities, that took a noticable amount of time:
Importing iCloud photos
Scanning faces
Rendering previews for iCloud videos.
