My iPhone 5 storage is almost full. My calendar is scrambled. I cannot receive text messages or voice mail. Gmail and safari blinks out. The phone will not allow me to delete information. Should I try to back up to my laptop before going to the Genius Bar?
Unless you have recently restored the device from a backup it might be best, if possible, to try to back up to a different computer, otherwise yes backup anyway. There is normally only one rolling backup for each device until the backup is used to restore. Backing up to multiple machines would give you a chance to restore the current state, or your most recent backup if that fails.

I do not have my iphone synced with my work email but when I send a text message via my work email any response I get comes to my phone. Why? How do I change that because I do not want my phone connected with my work email?

Do you mean the From field?
You can change it by tapping it, it will give you options based on the other email accounts set up.
You can set a default account here:
Sttings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > scroll down to the Mail section & you will see Default Account. You can change that to your gmail account. -
Since I did the Mavericks-update, my mail-programm doesn't work no more. So I cannot send any eMail out or change the text into the eMail. Help, this is a catastrophe!!! Lukas Schmid

How do you send a text message to an Android user via Messages? My wife and I both have iPads running 8.1 iOS. When she types in the addressee name it appears in red (not in mine). Then she is not allowed to send.
There are a lot of posts in the forums today with people having problems with iMessage. There was also a published outage yesterday, so it's possible there are still some issues that may be impacting you both.
I would just wait it out - I'm sure it will be sorted out soon. -

IPhone 4 cannot send international text messages
I have an iPhone 4. Since day one that I bought the phone, I have not been successful to send international text messages. The procedure for sending an international text message is simple: enter 011, followed by the country code, and then the phone number. It has never worked. Each time, I get the following error message -- "Message Send Failure". Any ideas for fixing this problem?
What surprises me most is that I have an HTC Trophy with the same Mobile Service provider. No problem exists with the HTC Trophy for sending international text messages.I never had problems sending international text since my first 3g iPhone and neither with the 4. The only problem is that international txts are too expensive, I recommend you to use Skype or other app that can send texts.

If it was not sent, it is possible that you prevented it from being sent. However, if it made it to the Apple server before it tried sending as a SMS, it is very possible it still could be sent. In my opinion, I would say no.

I have had my iPhone 4S for a while and it's worked perfectly. Messages were going through fine and everything. I went on this morning as I had a text from someone. I opened the text and the screen just went back to the homepage. It has never done this before so I tried opening it again. The same happened again. I opened a recent text and I can read the old messages fine, it's just as soon as I click to message/text them back it just goes off.
I tried with Facebook mailing and the same happens, it just goes off. And when I go on safari and try and type something in it goes off.
I don't know what to do. I have tried turning it off and on and that didn't work. I have tried resetting network connections and I just don't know what to do. I am currently trying to software update to the iOS 7.0.4 to see if that has anything do with it. As before I clicked to text the person back a carrier question came up and it has come up before, could that have something to do with it?
Please can you help me?Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore. Try each of these in order until the issue goes away.

I have downloaded Yosemite but lost my outgoing mail settings in the process. I can still receive mail from all my accounts but cannot send any...
Open mail
click on mail on top
click preferences
click accounts tab
scroll down to TLS Certificate
click up & down arrow and select (com.apple.idms.appleid )
