HT5902 How do I recover my own shared photo stream that was deleted accidentally?

To save space on my iPhone I deleted the photo stream as I later found out I should have done unsubscribe instade. Is there a way to undo deleted photo stream from icloud? I do have the pictures on my phone but there are comments from people I shared pictures with that I like to recover. Can someone help?
I can get the links that was sent out to people when I shared it with them if it help.
Daniel

Welcome to the Apple Community.
Sorry you can't undelete a shared album, if you have the original photos, you will have to create it again without the comments.

  • How do I recover a folder on icloud mail that was deleted by accident

My wife just received a new Mac Book Air...and while learning to use the mouse pad deleted an important folder off her icloud mail.  I'm presuming I can use time machine to go back and recover it, but am not seeing that folder there.  I've checked on icloud through the web and the folder is gone there.  Just need some direction on how to recover it.  Thank you.

Time Machine is the correct method, just roll back in time to a point before the folder was deleted.

Did she accidentally empty the trash (in Mail) as well?

  • Can shared photo stream activity be deleted?

I accidentally shared photos in the wrong photo stream and quickly removed them right after. My question is after having removed them, will the people in that photo stream still be able to see those pictures in their photo stream activity feed?

The quote I supplied has a link to the detailed Support page for Shared Photo Streams, which provides information about deleting photos you have posted to a Shared Photo Stream that you do not own:
Delete photos or videos from a shared stream
When you delete a photo or video from a shared photo stream, it’s removed from the shared stream on all your devices and all subscribers’ devices. The owner of a shared stream can delete photos and videos that anyone adds. Subscribers to a shared stream can delete the photos and videos they add.
    On an iOS 7 device
In the Photos app, tap Shared at the bottom of the screen, then tap Streams at the top of the screen.
Tap the shared stream you want to delete photos or videos from. You can’t delete from the Activity stream.
Tap Select, tap one or more photos, then tap .
Tap Delete x Photos or Delete Photo.
    On an iOS 6 device
In the Photos app, tap Photo Stream.
Tap the shared stream you want to delete photos from.
Tap Select, tap Edit, tap one or more photos, then tap Delete.
Tap Delete Selected Photos or Delete Photo.
On a Mac using iPhoto or Aperture
For instructions, see one of these iPhoto Help or Aperture Help topics:Add, remove, and edit items in a shared photo stream with iPhotoAdd, remove, and edit items in a shared photo stream with Aperture
    On Apple TV
    Go to iCloud Photos.
Select an album, press the center button on your remote, then select a photo or video you want to delete.
Hold down the center button on your remote until a dialog appears, then select Delete Photo. If you simply press the center button instead of holding it down, a full-screen image appears instead of the dialog where you can remove the image.
    On a Windows computer
Select iCloud Photos under Favorites in a folder window of File Explorer (Windows 8) or Windows Explorer
There is a lot of information in the links. Take some time to have a look at them.

  • I have a shared photo stream that I converted to a public website. If enough people view it, will it show up in a search?

I have a shared photo stream that I converted to a public website. If enough people view it, will it show up in a search? It is for my business. I would like to provide pricing information but I do not want it to be found if a consumer searches for it. Are photo streams searchable on google, etc?

How much space depends on the size of the photos and how many there are.
Settings > general > usage > photos & camera. The shared albums will be included along with other photos.

  • HT201317 Can you add related photos to someone else's shared photo stream that you're subscribed to?

No, you can only add comments.

  • HT201077 My shared photo stream originally was working.

My shared photo stream originally was working. But then the person I was sharing with sent me a shared photo stream. I never got it and now the stream I sent to her no longer updates with photos I've added to it. Has anyone experienced this and figured out a fix?

I should have mentioned that they were all showing ok last night, but this morning when I checked only 9 out of 60 are showing. I even deleted just one or 2 from my iPhone at first, made sure they were still showing in the stream, before deleting the rest. So can't understand now where the missing ones have gone?

  • How can I subscribe to a Shared Photo Stream from iPhoto 9.4 on OSX 10.7.5 ?

I just updated to iPhoto 9.4 on both my (just updated) OSX 10.8.2 MacBook Pro and my OSX 10.7.5 Mac mini.
For some mysterious reason Apple specifies that I can not subscribe to the new "Shared Photo Streams" from my OSX 10.7.5 Mac mini.
    How could that be ?
How can I get around this ?
How can it be that Apple claims that 'Shared Photo Streams' can be shared to all my other devices, but it turns out that my major photo-database can't, even though it has a brand new version of last year's OSX running... ???!!!
This can't be a software issue...
because if that were the case Apple would be deliberately cutting off users of last year's operating system... (...I even think there is a law prohibiting that...)
so... can anyone tell me what the exact piece of hardware is that I am missing ?
or has anyone found a solution for this yet ?
    Thanks !

The only hardware that's preventing me from upgrading to 10.8 "Mountain Lion" would be the fact that a Mid-2007 Mac mini doesn't have a separate graphics card...
...as all other hardware-components ar similar to the iMac Mid 2007... :
    - at least 2GB of PC2-5300 (667MHz) DDR2 SO-DIMM RAM
    - a 64-bit Intel Core 2 Duo "Merom" processor
    - a WiFi-N compatible AirPort-card (I've upgraded the one in my Mac mini to an Atheros AR-9280...)
    - OSX 10.6.8 or later installed (I have OSX 10.7.5)
    - iPhoto 9.4
...so the only spec I not meeting hardware-wise is the fact that my Mac mini has a GMA950 shared graphics card...
but surely... that can not be the reason I can't subscribe to a Photo Stream...
why would that have anything to do with eachother ???!!!
[ I've even seen claims of tricked OSX 10.8 installers for the Mid-2007 Mac mini, so if that's my only option... ]

  • HT4906 How can I subscribe to a shared Photo Stream in iPhoto

I'm trying to use iPhoto to subscribe to a shared Photo Stream from my sister-in-law.  Whenever I click on the invitation, it says I need to sign in to iCloud -- which I have multiple times now -- and be running iPhoto 9.4 (which is actually 9.4.2).  So, I've satisfied all the necessary steps, but it's not bringing up iPhoto on my computer.  I have Photo Stream on iPhoto configured to allow subscribing to shared Photo Streams.
    Anyone have any ideas?

Figured it out with a helpful hint from someone elses post.
I have two iCloud accounts.  My System Preferences had iCloud configured with the wrong Apple ID.
The email that gets sent when someone shares a Photo Stream might mention something about the System Preferences -> iCloud needing to be configured if you want to see the shared stream in iPhoto on a Mac.

  • HT4858 What about shared photo streams that's not shared with anyone?

I want to use shared photo streams mainly to keep my albums online and I find it the easiest way.
The article says that the maximum amount of photo stream I can share is 100.
What if I create a photo stream and I share it with no one? Will I be able to create more than 100 photo streams if I don't share them all?
    Thanks
    Uri

It doesn't matter whether you share your shared album or not, it still counts toward the 100 limit.

Unfortunately, you cannot retrieve the pictures from iCloud without an Apple device.

  • Shared photo stream gone from iOS but still on laptop

I own a shared photo stream that was created on my iPhone. Sometime in the past few hours it disappeared from my phone, iPad and the other iPhone under my Apple ID. However it still shows on my laptop and is up to date. How can I get it back on my iOS devices?

If these photos are precious, it's worth considering purchasing a file recovery program. I accidently deleted a whole batch of emails and I bought online and used an application called FileSalvage (about £50) which recovers all types of files. You can select it to just look for image files and then just recover those.
If so, limit your use of your Mac as of now, as you will be writing data to your hard disk all the time when saving and potentially write over picture data that's sitting on your hard disk.
Although Mail's .emix file format is not a common file type, it did the job, so image files will be easy.
