HTML code - Iweb

I would liuke to include a html code to my web-site but do not know how to do it.
I am using the latest version of Iweb to create my web-site.
Best regards,
Carl
Ps. It is a chat function that i would like to include:"Zopim"

Here's a demo :
http://home.wyodor.net/demoos/zopim/zopim.html
Create a JavaScript file like this :
http://home.wyodor.net/demoos/zopim/zopimwidget.js
and save it in the Sites folder on the server.
Have a look at the source of this page and copy the code :
http://home.wyodor.net/demoos/zopim//zopim_files/widget1_markup.html
and then paste it in a HTML Snippet on your page. The location of the Snippet does not matter.
Publish your page.
Surprise, but it does not work on my desktop browsers, but on an iPad the chatbox appears at the bottom right of the screen.

  • IWeb hangs (spinning beachball) when I try to paste HTML code from DW-why?

Can anyone tell me why this might be happening? When I try and paste HTML code from Dreamweaver using Web Widgets. Then the only solution is to Force Quit which means I lose any other work I've already done in iWeb. Anyone else had this problem? Is there a workaround?

Your last two posts didn't appear in the forum! They came through my email but there is no link.

  • Including html code into my iWeb site

    Hi,
I would like to include googles Analytics tracking code to my website. In order to do this, they say I have to
"Copy and paste the code segment into the bottom of your content, immediately before the </body> tag of each page you are planning to track. If you use a common include or template, you can enter it there. "
What does that mean? And can I do that in IWeb?
    Thanks for a reply,
    Anne Wertheim

I'm not totally sure what you are asking, but I do know this> Go to Insert: HTML Snippet... copy and paste the HTML code there...and it should work.. .just about ANY html did it on mine.
Even the counters...but now I'm hosting with mobilme... propietarty, but works.... try it.
Is that what you are asking?

  • Is there a way to edit the html code of the page directly on iweb?

My web server gives me the error: Parse error:  syntax error, unexpected T_STRING, everytime I try to access my site after I've updated it with the FTP server.  I leanred that it was because of a bit of extraneous code in the beginning of each page that my web server just doesn't seem to like.  I can go back through once it is updated and delete the code on the web server but it is a big pain to do this each time I update my website, and I would still like to be able to utilize FTP.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

No, you cannot edit the HTML code in iWeb. The webpages are created when you choose publish.
The parse error is caused by a misconfigured server. Here's how to solve it :
         The PHP parse error
If you cannot change it, ask your webhoster to do it for you. It's not a iWeb issue.

Robert ~ Welcome to the discussions. In the upper right of this forum's main page is a Search Forum bar. If you enter:

  • Using iWeb HTML code with email autoresponder software

Hi, I'd like to be able to use iWeb html code with an email autoresponder package, however, the text in the resulting emails is unformatted and has no images. My chosen company,AWeber, haven't been able to solve this yet for me (I've tried all the major autoresponder companies with same result).
I've tried hosting my email page both to Mac.com and www but it makes no difference.
I've seen similar queries in this forum - has anyone cracked it yet?
    Thanks

Not sure what you expect. Your URL is absolute and pointing to a local file resource. It's not a proper relative HTML link. Beyond that it's toatlly unclear how you actually plan to load your image and where they are hosted, so nobody can tell you anything. Either way, there is an obviously painful lack of understanding of even the most basic web techniques, so the best advise anyone would give you is to spend some time with a web search and actualyl learn some of that stuff...

  • Is it possible to add html code to iweb

I need to add some special elements to a webpage, and I was curious if I could add any special html code besides the ones I have found in the menu (counter, links, etc)
    Thanks

This is iWeb's glaring weakness. I need the ability to add html for blog rolls, haloscan comments on blogs, etc.
Currently, I use RapidWeaver, but the drag and drop design elements in iWeb are far superior. However, the ability to add raw html code is going to hold iWeb back.
Add this, Apple, and you've got a winner.

  • Html code integration iWeb

Is there a way to add html Code to a site? f.e. to add some site content or an rss feed. o.s.

Yes, there is. In the Widgets panel in iWeb's right side slide-out, you'll see an +RSS Feed+ widget and an +HTML Snippet+ widget. See here:
    http://www.apple.com/ilife/iweb/#widgets
...simply drag the widget onto iWeb's canvas.

  • It is possible to insert a html code in iWeb?? help please!!

Hi there, and thanks for helping me!
I have a question. I am new to iWeb, and  I am making my first website with Adobe Dreamweaver CS5. I have the HTML, CSS code ready to be uploaded to the web. So I wonder if it is possible to insert my HTML and CSS code in iWeb so I can publish it? I mean, my code in Dreamweaver is ready to be publish, so I want to put the code in iWeb and then publish it with all HTML, CSS and Javascript code. Thanks!

You might be able to reuse some of your html in iWeb with the HTML-snippet:
Whenever I need to do something tricky in iWeb I insert a HTML-snippet from the drop down insert menu -> widgets  (or the Media Browser Widgets palette), adjust its size and paste the HTML code into the snippet.
You will not be able to recreate a complete page this way, but you might be able to save some  preformatted parts of your page, like elaborate tables and groups of pictures.

  • HTML ON IWEB

Hi There, I would like to insert an html animation created with adobe edge in a iweb page, but when I insert html code fragment appears in a blank white background. the process to get the html code is: Subject to the edge in html file, and then, to know the code to enter, open it with dreamweaver. control with "live view" that the graphics and animation behavior is correct, click on "live code" and copy it entirely. drag the widget in iweb "html snippet" on the page and glue it all and I click on apply.
result ... the box becomes a blank white background, and even when the public does not see anything ... it off?
Sarry for my google translate english....Thanks

    Sorry, but i don't understand....

  • How do I see the HTML code of my web page?

How do I see my web page's HTML code? I want to install Google Analytics and I have to insert the tracking code into a certain part of the web page's HTML code, but iWeb doesn't show me the code to manually manipulate it.
Is this even possible? I am looking for a view that shows me all the code and can't find it.

You'll see the HTML after publishing the pages.

  • How do I imbed html in iweb?

I need to imbed a few html codes into my website. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to do this. Can someone give me lesson for dummies in a short reply? So much appreciated!

Annie ~ Your Public Profile indicates you're using Mac OS X (10.4.6), but iWeb '09 requires 10.5.6 or later. So it's not clear whether you are using an earlier version of iWeb or need to update your Public Profile.
Here's an Apple doc that relates to adding HTML code in iWeb '08:
iWeb ’08: Adding live content or code to your webpage
...If you're using iWeb '09, just ignore steps 3-4 there and instead select the Widgets panel on the right and choose HTML Snippet.
