HTTP Client VIs help or examples?

I am trying to use the HTTP Client VIs to implement a version of the C# code found HERE. Unfortunately there are no NI examples of how the client VIs are to be used and my various attempts to string them together only seem to result in "Error 42" (LabVIEW: Generic Error) from the POST vi, rather than returning the headers and body text.
I have also tried using DOTNET calls and was at least able to get the login page returned but could not seem to trigger the login.
I switched to the HTTP Client VIs because they offered an alternate hope and I could at least see where to attach a cookie file with them (though a cookie file may not be the same as reserving space for a session cookie).
Solved!

Hello Warren,
At this point, your best reference is probably the LabVIEW help documentation on the HTTP client VIs you are using, but here are a few examples that might offer some insight as well:
Easy HTTP Client VIs
https://decibel.ni.com/content/docs/DOC-22383
Reading Coordinates Information from Google Maps Web Services Using HTTP Client VIs
https://decibel.ni.com/content/docs/DOC-20762
Additionally, it looks like there was an issue addressed in LabVIEW 2011 related to the Post VI and Error 42 when downloading large files (see CAR 251094 in the 2011 release notes), which might apply in this situation.
I would recommend contacting our support directly to troubleshoot the error you are seeing, particularly as it is so generic.  If the lack of examples is a hindrance, definitely create a product suggestion at http://digital.ni.com/applications/psc.nsf/default?OpenForm or by posting on the LabVIEW Idea Exchange (http://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW-Idea-Exchange/idb-p/labviewideas .)

  • What has changed in HTTP Client VIs from LV2010 to LV2010 SP1

    Hi all,
It appears to be a major internal undocumented change for HTTP Client VIs between LV2010 and LV2010 SP1. In LV2010, the client VIs used a dll called "ni_httpClient.dll", but in LV2010 SP1 it is not used any more, probably used pure LabVIEW solution. There was a bug in HTTP PostMultipart, since it couldn't be executed twice, needed to disconnect and connect to get it work again. However, in LV2010 SP1, they have done some changes, since this VI now returns a header stating it using HTTP 1.0 and not HTTP 1.1 as "old" LV2010 did. I've also had problems in LV2010 SP1 that if the server doesn't reply anymore the HTTP Client VIs hangs and I need to kill LabVIEW.exe process. In LV2010, there was a timeout. I've tried to set different time out between 10 and 10000. No difference. I know that there has been a bug in LV2010, since time out was in s and not ms as the controls says. Don't know if they have fixed this in SP1, it seems to be an infinite timeout...
Anybody has an experience of HTTP Client problems between LV2010 and LV2010 SP1?
    Thanks,
    Mattias

    Hi,
I found what has changed from LV2010 to LV2010SP1
    * ni_httpClient.dll is now included in the runtime engine (that was why I though they didn't use the ni_httpClient.dll anymore, but that is not the fact. It's not included in the builds anymore though)
    * ni_httpClient.dll is version 1.1.0f14 in Lv2010 and version 1.1.0f0 in LV2010SP1. They have stepped back??? Why?
In Lv2011, ni_httpClient.dll is version 1.2.0f0. Maybe I can try this and see what happens.
    Thanks,
    Mattias

  • Need help with HTTPS Client/Server

Hi i really dont know much about this topic and i was wondering if any 1 knows where to find a good example program to set up a
HTTPS Server/Client or at least how to implemnt a HTTPS Client.
    thanks in advance

URL.openConnection works fine as a client. You don't have to do anything other than specify the protocol as https.
I don't know what you are looking for in terms of server. Are you trying to write your own server? Which part do you not know? The HTTP part or the S part?

    Hi Ankita,
Try to trace at ICM level, Go to smicm transaction
    Set level to 3.
Later send your request. Finally trace the request in:
When you have seen the log, check if any exception is raised with your request or the request and share it here.

The client cert based authentication is working when using IE v8 and IE v9 with the same JRE version (JRE version 1.7.0_25-b16 Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM)
Any help to resolve this issue will be very much appreciated.

    Thank you for your response.
Yes we have added the client certificate file (.pfx) in the Firefox browser Certificate manager / Store. It's also showing the certificate in the View Certificate window. We could not resolve it yet.

    Hi,
In the HTTP Receiver what is the Addressing Type used ? (URL Address or HTTP Destination).
If its URL Addressing Type, check if right Authentication Type is used with valid values and for HTTP Addressing Type check this HTTP Client Create Error, it could be helpful.
Also check if the Target system can be reached from the XI server to validate the configuration parameters.

  • XI - Call Adapter Error - HTTP client. Code 402 reason ICM_HTTP_TIMEOUT

I am using HTTP adapter to post XML PO to vendor's site. We are having this problem with one of our vendor when PO's has more than 15 line items. XI server is getting error-"Call Adapter Error - HTTP client. Code 402 reason ICM_HTTP_TIMEOUT". Actually PO is posted good for the first time on vendor's site but XI is getting above error message and it keeps posting it again. Is there anyway to stop it otherthan manually stopping the XI message? Is there anyway to increase the wait time of the XI server to get the message.
    Thanks in advance.

I'm getting the same issue "500 TIMEOUT error" in runtime work bench-->IE--->Test Message. When i manually trigger the file.
The issue is basically from 01-01-2015 02:00 pm to 02-01-2015 01:am , File is picked from source ftp folder and places in archive but xml messages are not reflecting in SXMB_MONI.
Today suddenly after 01:00 am messages are successfully processing.
Please help on this issue. Many Thanks.

  • BPM: RFC (SYNC) - BPM- HTTP client

    All XI Experts
My scenario is RFC synchonous to XI (BPM) to HTTP Client.
I correctly configured all my messages interfaces and mapping programs.
    I have defined the following:-
Sync Abstract message interface for the RFC structure
Async Abstract MI for RFC sent data
Async Abstrcat MI for the RFC response data.
At this stage I have NOT set up the full scenario. My BPM consists of the following steps:
    Receive- Opens an Sync/Async brige
Send - Closes the S/A brigde
I have also set up all the sender agreements and RFC destinations, so there is no issues with that side of things.
When I execute the RFC (se37) and stipulate the RFC Destination, the message is logged in XI but has the following error:
      <SAP:Category>XIAdapter</SAP:Category>
      <SAP:Code Area="BPE_ADAPTER">SYNCHONOUS_MESSAGE</SAP:Code>
      <SAP:ApplicationFaultMessage namespace="" />
<SAP:Stack>This process does not support the specified synchronous interface or does not support any synchronous messages The exception occurred (program: SAPMHTTP, include , line: 0)</SAP:Stack>
Has anyone come across this issue?
Interestingly, when I execute the RFC in the background, then XI processes it fine?
Is this how XI works? Is RFC Sync communication with BMP not supported?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Yackeen

    Hi Yackeen,
Have you resolved this problem? I have working on the similar design. Need your input on this one.
    My scenario is RFC>bpm>HTTP (asynch)
I have one Receive and one send step with one block, deadline branch and a control step in dead line branch.
    Thanks

  • HTTP client code 402 reason ICM_HTTP_TIMEOUT

    Hi Experts,
My Scenario is RFC-XI-HTTP syncronous and was working fine for some period.
after that when am sending request to XI it is processinig successfully till technical touting and in call adapter step under response am finding error as <SAP:Code area="PLAINHTTP_ADAPTER">ATTRIBUTE_CLIENT</SAP:Code>
                 <SAP:P1>402</SAP:P1>
                 <SAP:P2>ICM_HTTP_TIMEOUT</SAP:P2>

                 <SAP:Retry>N</SAP:Retry>

and could you please let me know is it throughs the error that i mentioned  in case when the Target system  wont give response to XI ?

  • PI/XI: "HTTP client. Code 110 reason" for XML PO transmission

    PI gurus,
We use XI to convert PO IDOC to XML message and send the XML message to our vendors.
We got the error message "HTTP client. Code 110 reason" for two POs while other POs went to the same vendor successfully.
We also have no problem for sending XML POs to other vendors.
Is this error caused from the sender or the receiver and how can I fix the problem?
    Thanks in advance!

  • HTTP client code 400 reason ICM_HTTP_CONNECTION_FAILED

    Hi
when using an https receiver adapter in PI 7.11 I get the error message
"HTTP client code 400 reason ICM_HTTP_CONNECTION_FAILED".
The server I am trying to connect to is running and I have activated all services under sap -> xi in SICF.
    The ICM log shows this:
WARNING => Connection request from (38/18489/0) to host: https, service: 80 failed (NIEHOST_UNKNOWN)
    AP-T38, U18489, 001 ALE_K01, , 15:45:37, M0, W9,     , 1/0 [icxxconn.c 2222]
On the PI Integration Server the outbound queue (smq1) is empty.
However, the message seems to be sitting in the inbound tRFC queue (smq2)
    Function Module:  SXMS_ASYNC_EXEC
    Queue Name:  XBTO6___0002
    Status Text:  Transaction Recorded
I also get the error message in the inbound tRFC queue:
    "XI Error ATTRIBUTE_CLIENT.PLAINHTTP_ADAPTER: Queue"
It does not help to chose "save LUW" on the erroneous message in the queue.
In the http receiver adapter I entered these values:
    Addressing Type: URL Address
    Target Host: https://biztalk.lm-gruppen.dk
    Service Number: 443
    Path: /******/BTSHTTPReceive.dll
What should I do to make it work?
    Mikael

    Hi,
In the http receiver adapter I entered these values:
    Addressing Type: URL Address
    Target Host: https://biztalk.lm-gruppen.dk
    Service Number: 443
    Path: /******/BTSHTTPReceive.dll
If you want to enable HTTPs, you should use HTTP to RFC destination using SM59 (for the RFC destination) and STRUST (for the SSL authentication). Also, do not specify the http:// or https:// parameter in your target host. The correct parameters should be:
    Target Host: biztalk.lm-gruppen.dk
    Service Number: 443
    Path: /******/BTSHTTPReceive.dll
    hope this helps,
