Https in CRM

Hi,
I am integrating EP with CRM content server. For this I am defining one http service in CRM and calling it from KM .
default_host> sap> crm> crm_prt_km_dav
The same service I want to access using https in stead of http .
What are the ways to configure it ?
Thanks,
Chirag

Hi,
For https you need to enable the https for the service, for that in SICF got that service and in Error pages tab click on Configuration of System logon and in Action During Logon  select "Logon via HTTPS or Switch to HTTPS". Along with this setting you need to enable the SSL and configure parameter related to HTTPS. Please refer the below link for the same.

  • Custom report Fetch XML error in CRM 2011 online version

When i am trying to connect to my online CRM 2011 server below error appears
Unable to connect to data source 'DataSource1'.The connection to server "https://{my org name}.crm5.dynamics.com/XRMServices/2011/Discovery.svc"

I also tried as per Abhishek Agarwal MSFT suggestion as
    1. Make sure that the credentials are correct.
    2. Try accessing the same URL through the web browser by providing the same credentials.
    3. Try enabling traces for BIDS and look for the detailed error logs. You can do this by creating the regular
CRM trace registry entries under HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MSCRMBidsExtensions or HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\MSCRMBidsExtensions is you have a 64 bit
    machine.
but nothing happens, trace log is

First, please make sure you are using the right version of Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 Report Authoring Extension
    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=64a09b75-8376-4b9d-aea3-8a83a1837c4d
Second, please make sure the connection string is correct, for CRM online,
The connection string should be: <ServerURL>;<OrganizationUniqueName>;<HomeRealmURL>
In this connection string, only <ServerURL> is mandatory.

  • CRM 2013 Outlook client error

    Hi
We have a test install of CRM 2013 which is working correctly on the server. Logon via the web is ok.
A user was setup to access through the outlook client in office13 running on a win7 platform which also worked correctly. The same user also has secondary access through the outlook client in office 13 running on a win8.1 platform. This never worked correctly
    and would show credential errors.
Recently the win7 platform has also disconnected and shows connection errors.
I have tried the following on the win 7 platform:
    1. Uninstall the client and reinstall from scratch - unsuccessful
    2. Run through the steps in the built in trouble shooter - unsuccessful
Logon using the same creds via the web on the same machine is ok!
What are the next steps to rectify this problem?
    Thanks in advance!

  • E-mail router (On-premise) to CRM 2015 (On-line) connectivity issue

    Hello Experts,
I was trying to configure e-mail router on my location environment (working on domain administrator credentials :)) to connect to CRM 2015 Online server (TRIAL version).
Unfortunately during "Load data" process ("Users, Queues and Forward Mailboxes" tab in E-mail Router Configuration Manager) I'm still getting "Access is denied" error.
"CRM Server address" I'm using is: “https://disco.crm.dynamics.com/orgname” ("orgname" is 100% correct, I've also tried "DEV" instead of "DISCO" address option) and "Access credentials"
specified are also correct (this is System Administrator user in my CRM organization).
I assume that the problem is somehow connected with user account, because when I’m trying to use some fake one (ex. "[email protected]") the error message is different ("GetAuthStateEx(), Request Status: ").
I was trying to use Fiddler to see problem source and I found that "Access denied" is return during accessing "https://disco.crm.dynamics.com/XrmServices/2011/Discovery.svc" URL.
Am I missing something? Should CRM account used by e-mail router have some additional permissions except "System administrator" role in CRM?
Any help will be really appreciated.
    Kind regards,
    Piotr

I've checked unique organization name on developer resources page many times (this is very common reason of many problems with e-mail router deployments).
Actually I'm looking at this name right now and it is 100% correct (only lowercase letters, no "strange" characters :)).
Today - the error message looks a little different.
I've checked above mentioned web service address ( https://disco.crm.dynamics.com/XrmServices/2011/Discovery.svc ) in IE and there is no problem with accessing it.
I'm wondering should this error be somehow connected with fact that our CRM online organization is TRIAL version or that it is 7.0.1 version (our e-mail router is 7.0.0)?
    Any other ideas?
    Best regards,
    PG

  • CRM 2013 Client for outlook cannot connect to CRM 2013 instance

Hoping this is the right forum couldnt see any specifically related to CRM
Ok we have recently setup an On-premise installation of Dynamics CRM 2013 and running the client on Outlook 2013 with Exchange 2010.
The CRM installation has had update rollup 1 applied to the server and outlook client
We have and IFD and ADFS deployment setup (*we require ADFS for a sister company as they will be utilising CRM also)
When we try to connect the outlook client we just keep getting prompted for credentials and it never connects.
In the log the following entries appear
12:17:08|  Error| Error connecting to URL: https://internal.crm.timg.com/XRMServices/2011/Discovery.svc Exception: Microsoft.Crm.CrmException: Authentication failed
       at Microsoft.Crm.Outlook.ClientAuth.ClaimsBasedAuthProvider`1.AuthenticateClaims()
       at Microsoft.Crm.Outlook.ClientAuth.ClaimsBasedAuthProvider`1.SignIn()
at Microsoft.Crm.Outlook.ClientAuth.ClientAuthProvidersFactory`1.SignIn(Uri endPoint, Credential credentials, AuthUIMode uiMode, IClientOrganizationContext context, Form parentWindow, Boolean retryOnError)
at Microsoft.Crm.Application.Outlook.Config.DeploymentsInfo.DeploymentInfo.LoadOrganizations(AuthUIMode uiMode, Form parentWindow, Credential credentials)
at Microsoft.Crm.Application.Outlook.Config.DeploymentsInfo.InternalLoadOrganizations(OrganizationDetailCollection orgs, AuthUIMode uiMode, Form parentWindow)
This occurs when setting up the configuration with either outlook opened or closed.
I was assuming somewhere along the lines it is getting hung up with the claims process for ADFS on authentication.
Any information on this would be appreciated. CRM logins work fine for users logging into the main CRM site, just the outlook client wont authenticate.

Did you ever have luck fixing this? I'm having a similar issue with the login box prompting but if the users put in
[email protected] & normal password they can login without issues. But it should just be using their normal Windows credentials without a need to separately authenticate.  We happen to be on Windows 2012 R2, ADFS
3.0 with our CRM 2013 install.

  • MS CRM 2011 session time out with our CBA

    Hi CRM Gurus,
can we have CRM website, session time out, with out implementing the CBA?
by default the ideal time out for the apppool is 20 minutes, still it does not have any impact.
is there any way to achieve the timeout for the CRM website and any impact for other things like outlook , email router etc if we do so?
    thanks in advance.

    Hi yes.sudhanshu
Look for the following registry key on a machine where this issue is occuring,
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\WebClient\Parameters\InternetServerTimeoutInSec
and increase the value, think it defaults to 30, and test .

  • Power Query - OData Connection to CRM - On Premise

    Hi All.
I'm trying to connect Power Query to CRM via an Odata connection and I cannot seem to get it to work.
I have an on premise CRM organization so I figured that the online issue wouldn't apply, but I might be wrong.
I post the OData URL when prompted, go to the organizational account sign in section and when I click sign in I'm met with this response:
Unable to connect. This credential type is not supported for this resource.
Is this something I'll have to resolve with our system administrator? or is connecting via OData something I won't be able to do yet?
I have version 2.10.3598.81 of Power Query.

It really is not supported for CRM IFD/ADFS On-Premise deployment. I wrote for that a special Proxy service (client side java console application), which makes transparent translation:
    from:
    https:// <org>. crm. <domainname> .com/XRMServices/2011/OrganizationData.svc /
    to:
    http://localhost:8002/XRMServices/2011/OrganizationData.svc/

    Hi
1.The Action 'Update Value' is availble under Triger Event-'Before Modified Record Saved'.
I am not sure why you have to pay for "Assign a Book action". Thats out of the box functionality.
    2. Yes, SR status is a read only picklist. One workaround I can think of is to create a Custom field for Status. Then run a WF to sync the values of the Custom Status field with the Original Status field (particuluarly the Open and close values. That will maintain the integrity of all the SR matrices).

    Hi,
NMAP gives the report for the first firewall interface it hits. In your case you have allowed tcp any any where it allows all the ports. I have mentioned only one example.... There are many in your case....
Also NMAP results will be effective once when you directly connect to outside interface or directly on to the outside LAN.

  • Syncing hosted exchange calendar to iPod Touch over USB won't update-

Wanted to post some helpful advice for anyone that may experience this issue.
If you use a hosted exchange service, and are stuck syncing your calendars and contacts to an ipod touch or iphone over USB, realize that iTunes will only sync the default calendars and contacts over USB, not shared folders. Itunes will give you the option to designate which calendar syncs, but the names in iTunes won't match what is named in outlook.
Have a difficult client who suffers from a mixture of tech hoarding, non-linear thinking, unwillingness to change behavior, tech anxiety, and ego. So there has been a lot of money and time spent to get him tools that help organize his life, and allow me to schedule things for him. I have him on a hosted exchange account so that I can have access to his most up to date appointments and contacts when he travels internationally (He won't leave AOL because he can save emails directly as Word files). His Palm treo (which was only being used as a PDA) was beginning to fail, so I recommended an iPod touch as a temporary, low-cost PDA alternative. He travels internationally in 6-8 month chunks, since it didn't make sense to commit to a superphone. He did it under condition that it would sync over USB, since he is in areas without wifi very often. I checked it on my iphone (since I'm synced to his exchange account), and it worked. So I gave the go ahead.
After some issues with changing out his computers while in Europe, he contacts me with issues that his calendar and contact options were not updating to the most recent information in outlook after syncing with USB. After a support call, I was told to restore the phone, so that everything was erased and would be reloaded with outlook info. After we did that, my client informed me that contacts were updating, but the calendar was missing, except for two events that I had accidently added to it from my iPhone. I called support, who took the issue to tier 2, and was outright told not to talk to me and referred me to my hosted exchange company. I mentioned that they would be unable to help me with why iTunes wasn't updating a calendar in Outlook. He apologized but said that Tier 2 wouldn't take the call, and because it was exchange they wouldn't help. This was with my client on the line in a skype conference, who became maddeningly upset, as he would need to find another PDA while in Europe. Since, my client has sworn off Apple, which I was beginning to lean him towards, due to it's robust OS and backup capabilities, as well as simplicity.
But that's neither here nor there. I noticed that the two events that I had accidently added were on the default outlook calendar, named (oddly enough) "Calendar". Due to issues with me when I setup exchange when we first got it, I had to tell him to use a shared calendar called "Calendar-New" so that him and I could view and edit his appointments from different machines. I was connected to my clients computer over VNC, so I saw that under the info tab in iTunes, where I had checked "Sync with outlook" that there was a second option to sync only certain calendars, and three were listed, ""Calendar", "Calendar-", and "Calendar-1". I asked the tier 1 rep to check to see what these meant, I may be able to redirect iTunes to the right calendar. He was unwilling to, as Tier 2 had yelled at him.
With that, we hung up, and, once I confirmed that his changes to Calendar could be seen on my end, and changes I made could be seen on his end, and that these events showed up on the ipod after he synced it, I realized that iTunes defaults to the default calendar in outlook. Yay!. I went ahead and dragged and dropped all of the events from Calendar-New to Calendar, and now the problem is fixed.
I really wish someone at apple support would have been willing to at least walk through this with me, or at least looked into how the sync works, Ashley in tier 2, shame on you for hanging up on my tier 1 rep! You lost a customer who buys a brand new computer every year. Reminds me of this story

    Hello Snagglebits2
I am an Solutions Engineer for a hosted exchange provider, and that is some good information.
I have not tested this out, but i will. I do remember when i had my ipod touch, that it would sync perfectly over WiFi, but i do not know if i ever tested this by USB.
You should also make sure your customer is on a hosted exchange service that uses Akami.

There is no need for an XI adapter for client proxy.... we only use that for server proxies.

  • Telephony Integration with WD4A

    Hi experts,
I am currently investigating the feasability of re-writing and updating our 3rd party direct order entry system using Web Dynpro for Abap.  One of the features of our current system written in visual basic is the telephone integration, ie incoming call details pop up on screen, interrupting the program and starting a new process.
I have been investigating how to achieve this through the events framework of WD4A applications.  Ideally I would like to subscribe to an 'incoming call' event which will trigger upon recieving a call.  Whilst looking through sdn and help pages I have found a lot of information on ICI, ANI and such but nothing yet on how I might actually implement a system described above.
Has anyone attempted such a scenario within WD4A or can suggest how such a result might be achieved?

There are a number of ISV solutions available for CTI integration with Dynamics CRM, such as
mscrm-addons and c360. Beyond those, there are a number of VoIP providers that offer a Dynamics CRM CTI integration, such as
