Hw to caculate setup & Process time while scheduling?

Gurus,
Kindly guide me how the setup times & processing times are calculated in
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_46C/helpdata/EN/a5/63198843a211d189410000e829fbbd/frameset.htm
Really, I could not understand, why 1/8 (7.5 min) is added for setup time & 4/8 (30min) is added to process time in the example.
Best regards,
Kumar.

Sorry Gurus,
URL is not working fine. Hence iam pasting the content.
Example: Determining the Operation Dates
An order contains two operations (operation 10 and operation 20). The order quantity is 100 pieces and the order start date has been set to Tuesday, May 2nd. The scheduling type is forward scheduling.
Duration of the Individual Operation Segments for Operation 10
First, the system calculates the duration of the time segments for the operations (see Duration of the Operation Segments). To calculate the execution time, the system uses the formulas stored in the work center for setup, process or teardown and takes into account the performance efficiency rate specified for the individual standard values:
1 hour setup + 4 hours processing + 1 hour teardown = 6 hours execution time
The operation lead time is calculated by adding queue time and wait time to the execution time:
4 hours queue + 6 hours execution + 15 hours wait = 25 hours lead time
A move time of 0.5 hours is maintained between operation 10 and operation 20. This is assigned to the preceding operation (operation 10).
Calculating the Operating Time for Operation 10
The operating time of the work centers is calculated as follows:
The system calculates the working hours (standard available capacity) of the work center:
16:00 work finish - 7:00 work start = 9 working hours
The break times are subtracted from the working hours:
9 working hours - 1 hour breaks = 8 hours
The operating time of the move time is specified in the move time matrix: The shift starts at 7:00 and finishes at 17:00 and is a total of 10 hours.
Selecting a Calendar
The system now selects the valid factory calendars. The same factory calendar is maintained in both work centers. According to the factory calendar, work is carried out from Monday to Friday.
Calculating the Dates for Operation 10
The system has now collected all information relevant to scheduling and has calculated the duration of the individual operation segments. The next step is to calculate the operation dates. The system lines up the order floats and the individual operation segments along the time axis, taking into account the operating times.
The production order is scheduled using forwards scheduling so the system starts with the order start date (Tuesday, May 2nd).
Starting at the order start date, the float before production of one day is first added to the time axis. The scheduled start of the order is, therefore, Wednesday, May 3rd.
Starting from the scheduled start, the operation segments are now lined up on the time axis and the breaks are distributed proportionally among the individual operation segments.
Calculating the Operation Dates for Operation 10 Without Queue Time (Earliest Date)
Segment     Duration     Operating time/day     Start     Finish
Setup     1 hr     8 hr     3rd May 07:00:00     3rd May 08:07:30 1)
Process     4 hr     8 hr     3rd May 08:07:30      3rd May 12:37:30 2)
Teardown     1 hr     8 hr     3rd May 12:37:30      3rd May 13:45:00
Wait     15 hr     24 hr 3)     3rd May 13:45:00     4th May 04:45:00
Move      0.5 hr     10 hr     4th May 07:00:00      4th May 07:30:00
1) The wait time is scheduled independently of the factory calendar.
2) The duration of the setup results from: Setup = 1 hour * (1 + 1/8) = 1 hour 7.5 minutes
3) The duration of processing results from: Processing = 4 hour * (1 + 4/8) = 4.5 hours
Calculating the Operation Dates for Operation 10 with Queue Time (Earliest Date)
Segment     Duration     Operating time/day     Start     Finish
Queue     1 hr     8 hr     3rd May 07:00:00     3rd May 11:30:00 AM
Setup     1 hr     8 hr     3rd May 11:30:00      3rd May 12:37:30
Process     4 hr     8 hr     3rd May 12:37:30     4th May 08:07:30
Teardown     1 hr     8 hr     4th May 08:07:30     4th May 09:15:00
Wait     15 hr     24 hr *     4th May 09:15:00     5th May 00:15:00

  • Unnecessary Purchasing Processing Time in scheduling agreement

According to its business logic, the scheduling agreement is a document  that has  already been  released  by purchasing department,  and  its scheduling lines, that have been created by MRP  are valid for goods receipt without any need for additional purchasing  processing time. However, MRP scheduling incorrectly takes purchasing processing time into account (as defined in the IMG in plant parameters for external procurement - TCODE  OPPQ) when calculating planned availability date. Please advise how to correct this issue.

  • Can anyone help with a method to ignore GR Processing Time during STO Creation?

On my current client, we have a unique business scenario where we need to maintain GR processing time to reflect "incubation or hold" time for products after production. It is absolutely necessary that the products should not be available to ship to the customers until this "incubation or hold" time is elapsed and the products are inspected & ready for customer shipments. However, the products can be shipped to other DCs within the client's internal network while the products are under "incubation" as it can take place while the products are in-transit. Therefore, the products are available for shipping immediately after production within the client's internal network of DCs. This is why we need a mechanism to ignore the GR processing time while the products are shipped on STOs within the network. At the same time the GR processing time should be considered while the products are shipped against customer SOs outside the network.
To explain the scenario a bit further, this is a simple scenario: Factory A --> DC1 --> DC2. Factory A produces products to be stored and DC1, which ships to its own customers as well as to DC2 to fulfil customer demand at DC2. "Incubation" time of products is performed in DC1. Therefore, Sales Orders at DC1 should not be able to ship until this "incubation" time has elapsed at DC1. This can be accomplished by maintaining GR processing time equal to "incubation or hold" time at DC1 and it works well for Sales Order and its Delivery ATP check. On the other hand, STOs from DC1 to DC2 can ship immediately after production while the product is still under "incubation" as the required hold time can elapse while the products are in-transit between DC1 and DC2. Therefore, STO & its Delivery ATP check should consider production from factory A to be immediately available after production. Note that the incoming production from factory A is represented by an STR between factory A and DC1. Per my research this functionality is not available in standard SAP as GR processing time is considered in ATP check for both SOs and STOs. However, if anyone knows of a way to separate out ATP check for SOs and STOs where SO considers GR processing time while STO does not then that would greatly help.
    Appreciate any suggestions or solutions.

    Jagjeet.

  • Scheduling Agreement - Priority for GR Processing Time

    Dear Forum Members,
While defining Scheduling agreement for a material we can define the GR processing time and Planned Delivery time, likewise we
define in the material master also.
1.While running MRP which one has the higher priority?
2.After running MRP for the schedule line we are able to see only the delivery date,is there any setting to display the release date
or the start date based on the planned delivery time of the scheduling agreement?
    Please suggest.
    Regards
    S Mangalraj

    Hi Mangalraj,
    For your question:
1.While running MRP which one has the higher priority?
-->GR processing time MRP-run will take it from material master data
-->Planned delivery time, you can use t-code OMI8 to define the higher priority of SA or material master data
2.After running MRP for the schedule line we are able to see only the delivery date,is there any setting to display the release date or the start date based on the planned delivery time of the scheduling agreement?
-->Yes, in standard SAP system, you only can see the delivery date after MRP-run! As to the release date or the starte date which take planned delivery time of SA into account, it's only used to inform the buyer with purchasing transaction.
Hope my answers can help you!
    Good luck

  • Outlook/Exchange - Free/Busy time is not available while scheduling

This is very similar to another earlier question "Outlook/Exchange Out-of-office unavailable" [http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/office/forum/office_2013_release-outlook/outlook-exchange-out-of-office-unavailable/006462a8-a693-4389-b07c-6d9a27576449]:
I do not see free/busy time for scheduling, and is unable to setup Out-of-Office Auto-Reply, while I oculd see others calendar content in the Calendar view.
In theory, these problems should be already fixed by KB2850061 but I do  have newer Russian Office for home and business 2013 (version 15.0.4675.1003) and those problems are still here, while KB #2850061 seems to be inapplicable.
What is the newer KB fix which is replacing 2850061 which would be working for my verison?

    Hi Timur,
According to your description, I know that the OOF cannot be setup and cannot see Free/Busy information in Outlook 2013.
How is the impact, only one user or all users have this issue on Outlook client? How about in OWA?
As Martin mentioned, both of F/B and OOF are related to EWS. If you have the same issue on OWA, I'm afraid this issue related to Exchange Server side. Please try to verify the EWS setting. Also try to re-build EWS Virtural Directory for testing.
If this issue only occur on Outlook client, I suggest run Outlook under safe mode or re-create profile. I also suggest ask Outlook Forum for help, so that you can get more professional suggestions.

  • UNCAUGHT_EXCEPTION with msg CX_RSR_X_MESSAG while scheduling Process chain

    Hi Gurus,
We are facing a short dump while scheduling process chains, as follows:

    Exception              CX_RSR_X_MESSAGE
    <BR><BR>
    Error analysis
An exception occurred which is explained in detail below.
The exception, which is assigned to class 'CX_RSR_X_MESSAGE', was not caught
         and
        therefore caused a runtime error.
The reason for the exception is:
No text available for this exception
    <BR>
    Information on where terminated
Termination occurred in the ABAP program "SAPLRRMS" - in "RRMS_X_MESSAGE".
The main program was "RSPC_MAINTAIN_SINGLE ".
In the source code you have the termination point in line 82
        of the (Include) program "LRRMSU13".
    <BR>
We tried to schedule it as a remote process chain from some other system it cancelled the job there with an ERROR_MESSAGE. We checked the RFC Connections at the source system side but it is working properly. We then tried to schedule the chain manually, we had this exception. Then we tried to have a look at previous logs of the process chain. It had this exception. We tried to reactivate the chain it was successful but when tried to schedule the chain same issue again. We tried to run the Meta chains under the same chain separately. They too gave us the same exception.
    Please help.

  • How do I setup my Time Capsule (3rd Generation) to be accessed from the internet while I'm traveling?

How do I setup my Time Capsule (3rd Generation) to be accessed from the internet while I'm traveling? It is installed on my home network behind my TWC broadband router.

Ok.. since the TWC modem is also a router.. all configuration takes place on this box.. NONE whatsoever takes place on the TC.
There is no airport utility 7.7.3 but there is a firmware of that number for the latest AC model TC..
    Is it tall like this.
    Then it is Gen5.
otherwise it will have a firmware.. 7.6.4 or earlier and the airport utility must be 6.3 or earlier.
Open the Airport utility and give us a screenshot of the summary page.
That will also help us determine that you have the TC, which version and how it is setup.
You might want to press the edit and also give us the Internet and Network tab as they should be set correctly as well.
I have created a DDNS through DYN.com although I am not sure how to implement this into the TC.
You do not do anything in the TC.. set it up in the Ubee router.
Port forward 548 to the TC in the Ubee router.
And make sure the TC has a static IP in the Ubee router.
Overall if you find this too hard I strongly recommend you buy a product designed for remote access .. eg WD MyCloud.. they are cheap and easy peasy to setup for remote access.. by PC or Mac and since it is built outside of Apple you not bound up in Apple limitations built into all their equipment to prevent you using it the way you want.. rather than apple want you too.. eg BTMM and iCloud being the only way apple provide for access to the TC and only when it is the main router of the network.
You are fighting hard because Apple made this hard.. not easy.

This means that your NAS does not support the required encryption. Update your NAS to the latest firmware or ditch it and buy a Time Capsule (they are the most reliable when using TM).

  • Time issue while scheduling meeting in meeting place 8.0

    Dear Team,
I am very new to Meeting Place  system. Here we have version 8.0 and i am facing below issue.
While scheduling meeting when i have mentioned start time as 13.30 and end after 30 min.
but the issue is user can join the meeting before 13.30 and thats is security issue
i would like to know how to restict this. my requiremnt is user can only join before 10 min.
    Regards
    Hari

    Hi Hari,
Is you MeetingPlace 8.0 integrated with WebEx, or it is an Audio Only solution?
If you are scheduling meetings in Audio Only solution, you can specify "Early meeting start (minutes)" variable in System Configuration > Meeting Configuration.
If you have WebEx integration and WebEx scheduling, you would need to specify a default "Join before host", but every host would have to configure that for their own profile.

  • GR processing time difference for PO/STO scheduling in ECC & APO

    Hi All,
We are facing issue of PO scheduling in ECC & APO----
--   In ECC, system calculates requirement date with planned delivery time +GR processing time but during addition of GR processing time it excludes weekends( Saturday & Sunday) However in APO, system calculates requirement date by addition of GR processing time in the planned delivery time but it includes weekends & eventually requirement date mismatch.
-- Secondly we are using handling resource for scheduling purpose in APO but we found start time is different for differnent handling resources e.g. 14.00,16.00 ,from where the system picks up the timings
-- In APO product master ,GR processing time is 1 day but during PO scheduling, system picks 3 days & calculats requirement date ,its strange for me
Is there any way out for above mentioned issues
Thanks in advance for your help
    Kind regards
    Milind

    Hi,
Please check the factory calendars and time stream ids. The working schedule of APO should match with ECC.
The location master also needs to be checked for what time stream is attached there and what is the working schedule.
    Thanks,

  • Stuck at "One time setup" process during System Recovery

My computer is HP Pavilion m7640n. I had purchased a system recovery disc set from HP, and tried to use it to completely format and recover my computer. It was fine to use the disc to format the computer; but after it done use the system recovery disc, and asked me to remove the disc from the CD/DVD drive and restart the computer, then computer run into the Window XP desktop screen, and there is a full screen that pop up and it said "During this One-Time setup process do not turn off computer" etc. something like that. So I waited it to do the works, and I waited whole afternoon and overnight, the next day i woke up it "seems" done and so i restart my computer; But again, that "one-time setup process" full screen pop up again, and it seem will take so long time to do the works/setup again, so I took my computer to Fry's Electronic store's computer service to let me help to check what is wrong with this system recovery. And this had past 2 weeks already and they also still stuck at that "one time setup" screen too...........
Now, my questions are, Is this "one time setup" usually take 24+ hours to get done? Is there anything wrong with the System Recovery Disc set that I purchased from HP? If the disc has problem, how do I exchange it and get a new disc from HP? Are there any local HP Stores out there?

The one time setup shouldn't take more than 20 minutes.  Be sure to disconnect all devices except the mouse, keyboard and monitor. Also disconnect from the internet.

    Hi,
You are correct there is no setup table concept in HR extractors.
But there is a cache. Usually HR extractions will be full load. But it also supports delta. There is no setup table concept in HR.Once you perform your init (with or without Data transfer your delta path is set and delta will follow else can go for Full loads alone. It will extract data from the relevant tables like generic extractors. The data will be filtered based on the selection parameters.
Except for payroll and time management rest all sub-functional areas supports only full load.
In case of full loads, old data needs to be deleted to avoid duplicated records in the target.

    Delta Update
This DataSource supports delta updates. The source system fills table HRMS_BIW_PPDELTA with the date and time of the first data transfer (initialization) and the date and time of all subsequent data transfers. This information enables the system to perform a delta transfer. It only selects posting runs with the above statuses whose last changed on date is after the date in table HRMS_BIW_PPDELTA.
If you use DataSources 0HR_PY_PP_2 (Posting Documents) and 0HR_PY_PP_1 (Auditing Information), you must transfer data to BW from both DataSources using the same selection criteria.

    HR extraction:
The HR module enables customers to effectively manage information about the people in their organization, and to integrate that information with other SAP modules and external systems
HR broadly has the following modules:
PA (Personnel Administration) and Organization Management
    Personnel Development
    Payroll Accounting
    Time Management
    Compensation
    Benefits
    Training and Events
The Personnel Administration (PA) sub module helps employers to track employee master data, work schedules, salary and benefits information. Personnel Development (PD) functionality focuses on employees' skills, qualifications and career plans. Finally, the Time Evaluation and Payroll sub modules process attendance and absences, gross salary and tax calculations, and payments to employees and third-party vendors
HR delivers a rich set of business content objects that covers all HR sub-functional areas.
    How the data extraction happens:
Before getting into how the data gets populated into HR info cube
Let's understand the term info type
"An info type is a collection of logical and/or business-related characteristics of an object or person"
Here the data will be extracted from an info type (PA, PD, time management etc) and for few other applications it is from the cluster tables (Payroll, compensation etc.)
HR is basically master data centric because it is always related to people related Info Objects, such as Employee, Person. In most of the cases HR master data is defined as Time Dependent to enable historical evaluation. HR R/3 system records a specific period of validity for each Info type.
Procedure to extract the HR data:
Activate Data Sources in the Source system (R/3)
Replicate Data Sources in BW system:
    Activate business contents in BW.
Populate HR cubes with data by scheduling info packages.
Note: Master Data should be loaded first
Except for payroll and time management rest all sub-functional areas supports only full load.
In case of full loads, old data needs to be deleted to avoid duplicated records in the target.
