HyperLink / Label / Text OnClick Alert(Pop-Up Message)

Hi everyone, I'd like to know if someone knows if it is possible to have a messageBox or alert pop-up to show when someone gets to click on a hyperlink / label in Acrobat.
I have a block of text, which I have to change its content when a choice has been made. When I'm changing its content i'm loading XML into its exData value. I am looking for a way to have a hyperlink / blue text to be able to click on it and have a alert message to be shown. I tried using the alert method of javascript in a script embeded in the exData, but no success...
All I want to do is to be able to show a messageBox when a user clicks some blue text underlined..
Anyone have an idea? There's gotta me somebody that already tried something like this..

Thanks for the reply, unfortunately I've already thought that... That is a good idea, I've already used it before and work well...
But in this case my block of text may change on change event of an option.. which may change the position of my links...The text block may have 4-10 lines, so the links won't appear at the same spot all the time....
I've already thought of changing the button's position (x, y) according to the option chosen, but it is not really the best option...
If anyone has any better idea, I'll take it...

So I have 7 fields (same as of my table - Appointments) on my page

and what I required is:
* to alert (Pop a Message) the user before 15 minutes of the next appointment.*
eg: start_date - 08/12/2009, from_hour - 15, from_min - 30, end_hour - 16, end_min - 00, end_date 08/12/2009 and Description - Apex meeting, room no 1.
So it should alert at 15:15.
Your help would be appreciated. It would be nice if you can put an example with steps on apex.oracle.com.

Hi here's a starting idea....
Put this in your HTML Header of the page (or in the page template)

Messages Text Invitation Alert does not seem to work with AIM account

Back in the days of iChat - I had a Text Invitation Alert setup to play a sound and repeat that sound. This way if I was away from my computer, it would keep making noise until I accepted/declined the IM.
Now I upgraded to Mountain Lion and am using Messages which replaced iChat. The only account that I have is an AOL Instant Messager (AIM) account. During the upgrade, it kept my setting of a Text Invitation Alert set to repeat.
A couple of things that I notice - when I closed an iChat conversation, that was the end of the conversation and a message from someone after that point was treated like a new Text Invitation. With Messages - I actually have to 'delete the conversation' as all of my conversations are in the same application window.
Here is where the problem comes in... having NO active conversations (i.e. nothing is shown on the right side of the Messages window except 'No Conversations') and having the application closed but my status set to Available - it does NOT play the Alert sound, only bounces the dock icon once.
Having NO active conversations but the application running in the background it performs as expected.
With iChat, a text invitation was treated the same way if the application was closed or if it was running in the background.
Since my default is to have the application closed (with my status as Available), I am looking for Messages to provide the same functionality with regards to Alerts.

Your pop account won't work with iCloud, it's the alternate me address you get when you create an iCloud account that works with iCloud. Outlook won't work with iCloud either, you need to use Address Book, iCal etc etc.

In iChat and early versions of Messages this used to be CMD + K keys together
This no longer works.
It seems CMD + K is free as a Modifier keystroke.
I would have added it as an item in System Preferences > Keyboard > Shortcuts.
The issue with that is the fact that there is also no longer an Menu item for it. (so it does not work).
You can add a URL and then Right Click and there is an Edit option but this only allows you to change the URL and not add a URL to existing unsent text.
Right Clicking unlinked Text does not allow you to Edit it either (well there are some format option but not Hyperlinks)
I can't find away around this.
I know in the past the AIM service suffered from malicious code sent in Hyperlinks so this might be the reason.

Is there a way to still get audible alerts of new messages without having any banners or text appear in the lock screen?

I'm trying to make sure I am doing this correctly. How do you set up alerts for both text messages and iMessages so that even when the phone is locked you will still get an audible or vibration alert as soon as the message is received? And is there a way to do this without having any text appear on the lock screen that shows who the message is from. My phone stays in locked mode most of the time but I still want to recieve alerts for new messages as soon as they arrive. I'm also concerned about privacy so I don't want any text or preview or even any information about the sender to appear on the lock screen. I just want a vibration or audible alert.

Open the Settings app > Notifications > Messages. Scroll down adn turn OFF "View In Lock Screen". You may want to consider setting Alert style to none, but this will not impact what happens when the screen is locked.

Pop up message via Alert Modeler tool

I would like to know if it's possible to prompt a pop-up message in CIC, via configuration in Alert Modeler.
I know that the tool allows to prompt messages in the script reminder in the CIC screen, but what about pop up messages?! Does anybody already did that? Any help you be apreciated!

In a word, no.
You can disable the message preview, but not the pop-up entirely.

Pop up message unable to display the long text

hi i have here a situation where in my pop up message does not display the compelete text of my variable
for example if lv_message = my name is john.
the pop up message only displays " my name"
MESSAGE i000 WITH lv_message. -> using this syntax, what might cause thie error?

Hi,
The message variables are a maximum of 50 characters long (you can see them defined in table SYST), whereas the output from FORMAT_MESSAGE can be longer than this. This is why the output from the function module is getting truncated when you pass it to a message variable.
Vinod's suggestion will work, but I'm curious, why are you (presumably) passing all the details for a message (ID, Class, Type, variables) passing them to FORMAT_MESSAGE to turn them into a text string then passing this to a generic message. Why not just issue the message directly, instead of using the function module? If the message has long text you will lose this the way you are processing it now.

You installed the "DownLite" trojan, perhaps under a different name. Remove it as follows.
Malware is constantly changing to get around the defenses against it. The instructions in this comment are valid as of now, as far as I know. They won't necessarily be valid in the future. Anyone finding this comment a few days or more after it was posted should look for more recent discussions or start a new one.
Back up all data.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:

How to change font size and window size for a pop-up Message Window?

Hello,
I am trying to display a very important message to alert our tester or any user when there is an emergency and they have to stop the test they are doing. I really desire to use larger message window/fonts to do this.
I have tried Display Message To User and converted it to SubVI, but no luck yet. I thought SubVI might work. But when it's displayed, the original Pop-up Message Window sat right on the SubVI panel. When I then clicked OK to close the Message Window, it closed the SubVI panel as well.
Are Text Indicator and its Visible Node the only way to make this happen? If yes, could someone teach me how to pause the program execution like Display Message To User when the program is waiting for user to click OK to continue?

Multiline messages cannot be shown on standard Pop Up. In case you need multiline messages then create a new view, use it as a pop up and then you can show text messages as per the business requirement.

Keep getting pop-up message re updating RSS feed for twitter

Please advise why I get this pop-up message. After I get it and fill in the info, I get another pop-up message asking for the same info, which doesn't take. What's going on? My Safari version is 4.1 (4533.16)

Hi,
First you need to make an entry of your pop up message in the sales text view of the material master and when the user enters that material, he will be able to see that message. The Config part is in spro/sd/basic func/text control. You need to define the text types, access sequences and the text determ procedures.
You have to maintain the desired text in the material master sales text editor and turn on the indicator 'Display texts during transfer' under Text control in configuration for the sales order-item for the material sales text. This will display a Pop-up message when booking orders

How to set an 'alert' or reminder message for end-user Acrobat X form.

I'm trying to see if I can add an alert or reminder message for the end user who will be filling in a form that I'm creating from Acrobat Pro X.
Does it require a script if so, could anyone share one that is already exists?
If it doesn't need a script, how can I set that up?
What I want to do, is to remind end-user to fill in Numbers Only and not text. I have already set my properties for numbers only and provided an example. But, In-case end users did not understand, I'd like to have a message for them to say that they must type in number and not text.
Currently, with the limitation I've made, they couldn't type in any letters but, they might be frustrated and not fill in anything!

Is it correct to put that code under VALIDATE > run custome validate script, within the Properties box?
Because I tried it, and it worked only AFTER I typed a number onto the field.
Since my goal is to have the alert BEFORE, so if someone typed in a text, they should see the alert and correct themselves to type in a number instead.

Trying to make a pop up message for a loan calculator

Yes this is very basic, but I am very basic. I am using the init() method, and paint() method "classes" as applet to make a loan calculator. I have the calculating all done, and correct, but if someone puts in a nonreal number, or an amount they want to take in less than 0 I want the pop up message tell them they are crazy.
