I accidentally deleted a purchased itunes song but still have it on my ipod. Is there anyway to restore it to my laptop from the ipod? I've seen others with a similar situation and the question was asked if it was still on the ipod but can't find a follow up to point me in the right direction.

You are trying to sync to other than the one iTunes library you can sync to. You can copy music from multiple library/computer if you use the manual method of syncing. That method is described here

If you want to make this computer/iTunes library your syncing computer/library you have to restore the iPod on this computer/library. Restoring erases the iPod.

There's a menu choice (I think under "Files") that lets you sync purchased items on a device back to itunes. Look for that.
iCloud does not store music. If you want to do that you'd have to subscribe to itunes Match, but to get music to the match servers, you need the music in the itunes library on your computer.

You can ask, but there's almost certainly nothing they will be able to do for you. Gift cards, from any retailer, are almost always treated like cash and hence cannot be replaced if you lose them. Apple's terms say:
Neither Issuer nor Apple is responsible for lost or stolen Gift Certificates, iTunes Cards, Content Codes, or Allowances.

I'm currently dealing with this issue myself, except that my rMBP has NO articles in the reading list. It's a brand new rMBP too, purchased just this week, with the 2.6 Ghz Processor & 16GB of RAM.

None of the unpurchased music is on my iPod/iPad and if I want to hear music on iPad I have to download it is this correct?

"Unpurchased"? I hope they were purchased in some form at some point...
iTunes Match matches or uploads the songs from your iTunes music library (on your computer), to make it accessible from iCloud (on other supported computers and mobile devices). It works with songs purchased from the iTunes Store, and song acquired elsewhere. iTunes Match leaves your existing iTunes music library alone on your computer; nothing is deleted from that library.
Therefore, you can download your songs to your iPad from your iTunes music library in iCloud. Or you can set it up to sync from your iTunes library on your computer, the "old school" way.

With iOS 8, how do I delete photos from my phone BUT still have them in my iCloud and view them from my phone?

Hello all!
Before iOS 8, we had two separate photo albums - Photo Stream (for iCloud) and Camera Roll (for photos on your iPhone).
When you took a photo, the photo went into both albums. This was handy, as when i found my memory running low, I could delete photos from my Camera Roll, yet they will still be on my Photo Stream.
However, with the iOS 8 update, apparently they thought this was too confusing for everyone and therefore have merged it all into the collections/moments photo viewer.
So, my question is, is there a way that I can delete photos from my phone without deleting them from my iCloud, seeing as they are merged into one?

The easiest way I find to remove a few songs for the nano is to go into Ipod preferences and select "only sync checked songs" and the uncheck songs you don't want. If you haven't found out which app it is then if you go into list view in the Apps part of your library do any of the apps have an exclamantion mark against them ? If they do then they are the one(s) that iTunes can't find the actual app file(s) for - if you delete that app from your library then if it is still in then you should be able to re-download it via the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage on your computer's iTunes, or you can just download it directly on your phone via the Purchased tab in its App Store app

You are probably using Time Machine to backup your MacBook Pro, right? Then the additional 300 GB could be local Time Machine snapshots. Time Machine will write the hourly backups to the free space on your hard disk, if the backup drive is temporarily not connected. You do not see these local backups in the Finder, and MacOS will delete them, when you make a regular backup to Time Machine, or when you need the space for other data.

You have tested the library on the external drive, and so your photos are save there.
The local TimeMachine snapshot probably now contains a backup of the moved library. Try, if connecting your Time Machine drive will reduce the size of your local Time Machine snapshots.

Well when I put my serial key in it had a green check mark, and when I go to HELP> UPDATES it says all my programs are up to date..

What specific limitations do you see in After Effects after you entered the serial number?
Are you having problems importing any files of the protected formats? Problems exporting?
Here are a couple of things you can check to see whether or not the protected content is installed:
* Add a comp to the Render Queue and open the Output Module settings. Is MPEG2-DVD an available format?
* In the Effects & Presets panel, or the Effect menu, is Synthetic Aperture > Color Finesse available?

They are not stored in iCloud, not really.
If the are in the iTunes library on the computer, simply context the device to the computer and manage the content on the device via iTunes.
