I am getting number of number of advertise pages in my macBook pro retina. I am bit worried coz virus or anything ? never had problem like this before.
since this afternoon I am having problem with MacBook Pro Retina. Not with particular website but click on any website, I am getting number of advertised pages like game mackeeper, etc.....
Is this means MacBook Pro infected ??? Also machine running slow too. This is only few month old MBP. Even I updated regularley and its on auto updates.Is there any positive Cure for my machine please !!

No it's not infected. Infected with what? Make sure you enabled the no pop up window settings in your browsers.
How large is your hard drive and how much hard drive space do you have left?
You are still under warranty. Call Apple Care. Make sure you get a case number as all repairs have an additional 90 days of warranty.
#1 - You have 14 days from the date of purchase to return your computer with no questions asked.
#2 - You have 90 days of FREE phone tech support.
#3 - You have the standard one year Apple warranty.
#4 - If you've purchased an AppleCare Protection Plan, your warranty last for 3 years. You can obtain AppleCare anytime up to the first year of the purchase of your computer.
Take FULL advantage of your warranty. Posting on a message board should be done as a last resort and if you are out of warranty or Apple Care has expired.

When I try to open a Pages document from iCloud, created on my iPad, I get message stating I need a newer version of Pages. When I go to app store all I get is "installed" when looking at pages app. my Macbook pro is up to date with all updates. Any ideas?
You have 2 versions of Pages on your Mac.
Pages 5 is in your Applications folder.
Pages '09/'08 is in your Applications/iWork folder.
You are alternately opening the wrong versions.
Pages '09/'08 can not open Pages 5 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5/5.01 can not open Pages 5.1 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5.1 sometimes can not open its own files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5 can open Pages '09 files but may damage/alter them. It can not open Pages '08 files at all.
Once opened and saved in Pages 5 the Pages '09 files can not be opened in Pages '09.
Anything that is saved to iCloud is also converted to Pages 5 files.
All Pages files no matter what version and incompatibility have the same extension .pages.
Pages 5 files are now only compatible with themselves on a very restricted set of hardware, software and Operating Systems and will not transfer correctly on any other server software than iCloud.
Apple has not only managed to confuse all its users, but also itself.
Note: Apple has removed over 100 features from Pages 5 and added many bugs:

Archive/trash Pages 5, after exporting all Pages 5 files to Pages '09 or Word .docx, and rate/review it in the App Store, then get back to work.

Not getting the advertised battery life on Macbook Pro Retina Late 2013
Hello world, This is my first time on the forum and I finally have a question to post lol.
So I just got Macbook Pro Retina and its only like 1 month old and Ive been getting really crappy battery life.
Im only getting about 4 hours and 35 mins on a full charge not the advertised 9 hours like Apple says.

All of a sudden I can't open my iPhoto library. I get a message that says "To open your library with this version of iPhoto, it first needs to be prepared. It takes me to this page. Bought MacBook Pro 11/2012. Don't have a clue as to version of IPhoto
Is this library one that you've been using since you bought the MBP? If so and you're running iPhoto 9 then apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Since only one option can be run at a time start with
Option #3, followed by #4 and then #1 as needed.
Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
2 - click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option.
4 - In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments. However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

I have licensed Lightroom 5.6 and my serial number. I want to install it on a new computer. I can get nowhere using Adobe site as it is all Creative Cloud related. I never had to use CC before. All I want is to install my already purchased Lightroom on new computer (without deactivating on old computer)
you may as well install the later lr 5.7.1 rather than 5.6 and then updating.

You haven't identified the version so I can't tell if offering you contact options for Adobe Support will be of use to you. But they will likely be your only hope of getting resolution unless you just happen to be using the wrong number as the serial number.

Additionally, I have wiped all the data from the Application Support folder of the address book and re-connected to iCloud, but it always shows 308 contacts instead of 309 found on iCloud and the rest of my devices. Any ideas?

Reinstalling FCP in new Macbook Pro Retina from time machine backup. Have all serial numbers back to FCP1 but I am warned I have an invalid serial number. How can that be! I need to install and use this weekend.

When I restored my new computer from the time machine, the software was transfer to the new machine, in the past when double clicking the icon it would come up and ask for the serial numbers. This time was the same with the exception of:
I did not enter an invalid serial number, I tried all the numbers I have. But none of them worked.
I will try to install from discs.

Click on the Apple logo in the upper left corner of your screen and select About This Mac. Click on the More Info... button and you should see what your processor is.

There is the remote possibility that you don't have your browser cookies enabled.
Have you TRIPLE-checked your serial # using the "About This Mac" application/ click on "More Info", then looked under "Hardware Overview:" for Serial Number (system): _______________?

I recently migrated from MacBook Pro to MacBook Pro retina. Now my macbook will not print to my LaserJet3200 printer. I downloaded the drivers but still only prints a line of gibberish per page, and endless pages, when i send printer a print job. tried to reinstall OSX Mountain Lion 10.8.4 and every time i start with the installation i get a requested time out message, had to shut down my MacBook Pro retina. I am going to buy a macbook pro for grade 12, and I need to know wheather I should get a macbook pro or a macbook pro retina. If someone could tell me (in a very simple way) which one is,better for me and why, I would be ever so apprreciative.
Why do you need a expensive MacBook Pro?
Your attending high school and unless everyone else is rich also your likely going to be a target by the more poorer students for theft or damage to the machine.
You could keep it home, but if you need it for class then your exposed again.
Also at that age your not very careful yet, a MacBook Pro is a expensive and easily damaged machine.
Unless your made of money and so are others at your school, I would recommned a low profile, just does the job cheap Windows PC.
If it dies, gets lost, stolen or damaged because of your inexperince handling senstivie electronics then it's no big deal.
You can buy a Mac later on when your sure you have a need for it, currently there isn't much advantage of owning a Mac compared to a PC, they do just about the same things now, one just looks prettier than the other.
Since 95% of the world uses Windows PC's your going to have to install Windows on the Mac in order to keep your skills up there or be unemployed, so it's a extra headache and expense.
