I am having problems launching the standalone version of Lightroom 6 after I have gone through the install and activation process? Lightroom starts to open but "hangs" before any photos in the catalgue are displayed. I have contacted the chat support twice but they have not been able to fix the problem.
I went through the activation process yesterday and shut down my PC when I went to bed last evening. When I got up this morning and turned my PC on and then started Lightrom 6 (I upgraded from version 5) it started to launch but then just hung and became "not responsive". I I then uninstalled and then reinstalled the product today but the same thing happened. What is weird is that when I install from the standalone file I downloaded when I purchased the upgrade it looks like it's downloading the software again over the Internet? I have been having these problems for the last four or five days. I have contacted the chat support folks twice and they were able to get it working but whatever they did did not last as the problem reappeared again once the PC was shut down and then started up again.

Hi, I don't know who to turn to: the person who handles all the compter stuff is out of town, This A.M.I started up Firefox and there was a message re an update, I thoght I new just to click on install and wait to re start Firefox. But what I can remember is that another window opened and asked me to choose 'something' (an icon or banner or?), I thought I must click something (I guess I should read all clearly). Firefox did update to 3.6.4, but it also inserted some sort of what might be called a banner? But it only partly covers the right one- half of my 3 toolbars at the top of the Firefox window. It can't be used for anything as it is just a mess of colors and unknowns, except what looks like a 'top' and what I recognize as a Firefox icon (but only partly visible)!! Now, what it does do is partly hide that whole portion of the toolbars and they are hard to read and in turn make this 'thing' impossible to figure out, if I would care to? I can't find anyway to remove it or use it?? But since the Firefox icon is on it, I guess you should know what it is and how to trash it. I am sorry for this occurrence caused my my carelessness, but I'm not much of a computer person ----HELP! Thank you for any help. Judi

The "Add-ons Manager" shows Java Platform SE 6 6.0.240.7 is enabled. But when I open certain websites the error message "We have detected that no Java Runtime is installed on your system or you are using an old version..." appears. But I can't see that it has any effect. It just delays the opening while the detection program runs. Something seems contradictory!
Have you tried installing the latest version of Java, there have been 2 updates since your version. You can get the latest version from http://java.com/

i loaded the newest version of Mozilla, i have windows vista. I began receiving microsoft defender error messages and now i can only connect the internet through explorer. i love using mozilla. what can i do to fix the problem?
Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features(Later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (If this won't uninstall press on)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.

Should you get the error iTunes.exe - Entry Point Not Found after the above reinstall then copy QTMovieWin.dll from:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support
and paste into:
C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes
The above paths would be for a 64-bit machine. Hopefully the same fix with the " (x86)" omitted would work on 32-bit systems with the same error.

Have gone to update and sync Iphones and Ipods and Itunes does not start up.
Both the sccbase.dll and slbcsp.dll failed giving the error "LoadLibrary("xxxxxx.dll") failed. - The specified module could not be found."
There's our likely culprits. We'd better try swapping them out on the PC.
(The instructions I'm about to give are quite possibly going to sound odd ... I'll explain what we're doing and why at the end of the post.)
Navigate to the C:\Windows\System32\ directory. (If you've set a different directory from \Windows\ as your Systemroot, look for \System32\in the alternate Systemroot rather than Windows.)
Can you see sccbase.dll and slbcsp.dll in there?
If so, drag each of them to your Desktop.
Now close the C:\Windows\System32\ window, wait about 5 seconds, and then open navigate to C:\Windows\System32\ again. Have copies of sccbase.dll and slbcsp.dll reappeared in that directory?
If one or both of the dlls aren't replaced and/or you get an error message from Windows saying you have a system file missing, move the dlls back into \System32\ from your desktop, and post back.
(What we're doing here is using XP's Windows File Protection system. It maintains a \dllcache where copies of essential dlls are kept on the PC. If it detects that a dll from \System32\ is missing, or has been replaced by an earlier version, and it has a current version of the dll in the dllcache, it will move a copy of the correct version of the dll into \System32\. There's more information about this in the following document from Microsoft: Description of the Windows File Protection feature.)
If the dlls are replaced, try restarting the PC and then relaunching iTunes again. Does it launch this time?
If it doesn't launch, try reregistering sccbase.dll and slbscp.dll again. Do they reregister properly, or do you get an error message again? -
When I store something in notes, it is emailed to me. I want it to stay there as it does on my. iPad. Both on ios6 but I am stumped.

you are running the latest version of iTunes, have no other USB devices attached, have no security software installed, and are directly connected to your ISP source, simply restarting the computer and the iOS device can clear up certain issues that could prevent you from restoring. After restarting the computer and iOS device, attempt to restore again.
How big is your library? I would recommend the following troubleshooting steps:
- Backup your library. Always a good idea before messing with things.
- Create a new library. Refer to this article for details: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1589. This won't delete your old library, you're just creating a new empty one. Also refer to this article to get back to your old library later.
- Add a few albums into this new library. Not everything, just a small sampling, as a test.
- Activate Match on this new library. You shouldn't have to re-pay, it should just say "Add Computer" or similar.
- At this point, Match should run again. With just a few albums it should complete in just a few minutes.
If iTunes doesn't crash at this point, then likely there's something about your original library that Match doesn't like - what that is I don't know, but at least you'll know it's not your PC. If iTunes still crashes, then if could be a number of other things, but probably not your library. My next suggestion (if you haven't already done this) is to uninstall / reinstall iTunes. If that doesn't work, then my next ideas you won't like. -

All photos in portrait format are displayed blurred in the preview mode "fill" of the library. In all other modes e.g. "fit"or "1:2" the photos are sharp. How can I change this, so that the photos are still sharp when displaying them in the mode "fill"? My Lightroom release is 5.7.1.
Thanking you in anticipation!I'd like to get all these '-1 suffix' files together with their associated Develop adjustments into one folder (if they aren't already) so I can see them in Grid view in the Library module, which I use as my basic starting point for everything else at this early stage of my Lightroom 'career'.
To see what folder these are stored in, right-click on a photo and select "Go to Folder in Library".
Advice: if you are going to use Lightroom effectively, you probably want to stop using folders as your method to create a grouping of photos that are already in Lightroom; there are plenty of built-in tools, such as keywords, collections, color labels, etc.
I don't understand why the search on the entire catalog picked up apparently the same two file versions but also got the Develop adjustments when going to the relevant Folder didn't show the adjustment black squares against each image in Grid view nor were they there when the images were opened in the Develop module. Perhaps if I understood this, I'd be a bit more confident of moving forward myself.
These are most likely different versions of the same photo, in different folders. Lightroom stores the edits in its own catalog, and so it knows that one folder's photos have edits, and the other folder's photos do not have edits. Please understand that Lightroom is a database, it knows where the photos are at the time you import them (or add them to the catalog by synchronize), and then if you move things around in your operating system, Lightroom does not know anything about that and problems begin. Thus the advice to organize using Lightroom tools and methods and not operating system tools and methods. -
I am having trouble installing photoshop Lightroom. The program is installed and has some sections blocked off. I have the S/N #... I need it to be confirmed and activated so i can receive an email to activate the system to my computer. I am not sure how to go about doing so.
If you have a serial number, you simply need to enter it into the proper fields.
Since you don't say what version of Lightroom, and what sections are "blocked off", let me guess that you have Lightroom CC, and you need to enter the serial number to turn it into Lightroom 6. I recently swapped a computer out. I need to move over the Acrobat install from the old computer to the new. I went to activate on the new computer and it said that the software had already been activated twice and would need to be deactivated on the old computer. I booted up the old computer and the Deactivate button was greyed out.
I read that waiting for a while will sometimes correct this but it did not after opening a document and waiting 30 minutes, still greyed out. Uninstalled and reinstalled Acrobat on old computer, still greyed out.
I also tried contacting Adobe chat support and they pointed me here.Hey roystarr,

I have an iphone 5. I have no idea of the ios version in it. Recently i broke my iphone screen and its showing up nothing. it was never synced to itunes or to any pc. When i tried to connect iphone to itunes in my pc it was asking for passcode which i had forgotten ages ago. Suggest me the possible ways to recover my iphone.
Since the screen doesn't work, it will be challenging to get it working, even thru iTunes. You will need to ask yourself if you want to invest more money in it or get a new one, especially since the contents will be lost since you don't know the passcode. Apple will gladly replace the screen for a cost that represents a significant portion of the price of a new. Once the screen is done, you may or may not be eligible for the free iPhone 5 Battery Replacement Program.
Or, if you decide to salvage it and are strong of heart and firm of hand, you can replace the screen yourself for less. See here and note they carry kits with all needed tools and parts.
