I am in my login screen, I do not remember my administrator password, and I want to reset the password. What do I do?
I have a macbook air and I am stuck in the login menu. I do not remember the main account's password. I am fine with resetting it but in order to do that, I know you have to turn it off. When I press the "shut down" icon, it says I have to enter the administrator name and password and then i can shut it down. Well yeah, I cannot remember my administrator name or password.. What the **** do I do??

All you can do is to restore and thus erase the iPod unless you can get a data recovery company to preserve the data.
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

My Adobe trial for Photoshop Elements 10 for the Mac was over and I wanted to buy the application. The screen message was "Your trial has expired...but the fun doesn't have to end! Buy now to continue using Photoshop Elements 10 without having to download or re-install. " and then the button "Buy Now". When I hit the Buy Now button I am put in a field to buy Photoshop Elements 13, with no way to change to Elements 10. I do not want to go through the hassle of reinstalling etc. In fairness, it's been over a month since making the decision to buy. Still, I consider this a nightmare. Any ideas on how to buy the app I've got withou having to purchase a whole new one? Thanks.
If worse comes to worse, will I need to uninstall the trial if I buy a new version? Can I use part of it lime download assistant?Adobe does not sell older versions of their software. If you wish to purchase an older version you will have to find and take your chances with a third party vendor.

I have a new computer and I want to use the "MasterPassword" again. How do I import all of the saved website passwords/logins from my old FireFox computer?
A couple of methods.
The first is to copy 2 files, key3,db and signons.sqlite from the profile folder of the old computer t the profile folder of the new computer. For details of how to find the profile folder see the [[profiles]] article.

It means a valid system cannot be found. You need to reinstall OS X.
If you have Snow Leopard:
Reinstall OS X without erasing the drive
1. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
2. Reinstall Snow Leopard
If the drive is OK then quit DU and return to the installer. Proceed with reinstalling OS X. Note that the Snow Leopard installer will not erase your drive or disturb your files. After installing a fresh copy of OS X the installer will move your Home folder, third-party applications, support items, and network preferences into the newly installed system.
Download and install Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1.
If you have Lion or later:
Reinstall Lion, Mountain Lion, or Mavericks without erasing drive
Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. I was just scrolling through my apps when the screen suddenly froze. A force shutdown didn't work and when I pressed the silent on/off button, there was no vibration either. The frozen screen faded to white with a few lines and about 10 minutes later, the edges started to turn black, forming a ring which got larger till about 4 hours later, the screen turned completely black. I tried connecting to iTunes but it wasn't detecting the phone and I can't do anything with it now... When it turned completely black, I charged it and after a while, the low batt screen came on but it was fuzzy and flickering with the white ring... What to do know ???????
Restart your computer while holding down left mouse key. That will eject the CD and your Mac will start as normal.

MacBook Login Screen Wallpaper is not one of my backgrounds.
Hey, I recently changed my wallpaper and I've come across a problem.
My wallpaper is the same for my 4 screens, just one image. Sometimes when I open my laptop, on the login screen will be one of my previous wallpapers. This image has been deleted already, but it still shows up when I try to login.
How can I fix this?Try swapping the memory modules so that the "bad" one is in the other slot. See if the problem follows the memory module or stays with the slot. If it follows the module, your memory is bad. If it stays with the slot, you could have dirt in the connector, or a bad solder joint on the PCB. If it is dirt, you can clean with compressed air. Otherwise, the fix is more complex and probably indicates a failing PCB.
