I am learning how to make a web page but every time I try to view my file it refuses to open saying the file is not protected from view by outsiders.

I set up the file as index.html. When I try to view it on Firefox it won't open the file.

I don't know of any 3rd-party tools for creating movie files in LVRT. The AVI functions can't be supported in LVRT because they're based on DirectShow functionalities, which are only available in Windows environments.

Export the slideshow out of iPhoto as a QT movie file via the Export button in the lower toolbar. Select Size = Medium or Large.
Open iDVD, select a theme and drag the exported QT movie file into the open iDVD window being careful to avoid any drop zones.
Follow this workflow to help assure the best quality video DVD:
Once you have the project as you want it save it as a disk image via the File ➙ Save as Disk Image menu option. This will separate the encoding process from the burn process.
To check the encoding mount the disk image, launch DVD Player and play it. If it plays OK with DVD Player the encoding is good.
Then burn to disk with Disk Utility or Toast at the slowest speed available (2x-4x) to assure the best burn quality. Always use top quality media: Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.
If iDVD was not preinstalled on your Mac you'll have to obtain it by purchasing a copy of the iLife 09 disk from a 3rd party retailer like Amazon.com: ilife 09: Software or eBay.com. Why, because iDVD (and iWeb) was discontinued by Apple over a year ago.
Why iLife 09 instead of 11?
If you have to purchase an iLife disc in order to obtain the iDVD application remember that the iLife 11 disc only provides themes from iDVD 5-7. The Software Update no longer installs the earlier themes when starting from the iLIfe 11 disk nor do any of the iDVD 7 updaters available from the Apple Downloads website contain them.
Currently the only sure fire way to get all themes is to start with the iLife 09 disc:

You then can upgrade from iDVD 7.0.3 to iDVD 7.1.2 via the updaters at the Apple Downloads webpage.

This thread is quite old but there is a new answer that might better suite your needs... So, for those who are looking for the answer, have a look at WebPager plugin for LabVIEW here: https://labicom.net/labdeveloper/WebPager/ . It will make much better job (in most cases) than Remote Panels and Web Services suggested above. The only difficulty I see in your request is a 'camera' word. With WebPager you'll be able to control it from the browser (without any plugins or similar things), but the video image itself will pose problems... Still, it can be tackled.

Once you purchase or download an app it will always be associated with the Apple ID used to download it. When that app requires and update you must use the Apple ID and password used to download it in the first place. The only way around this is to delete the apps the require the old Apple ID and download or purchase them again with the new Apple ID.

"Movie Magic" with Stills and Dissolve
When you 'prep' your stills in any 'picture app', you can do a lot of marvel by simply applying dissolves.
In your case, I would create a white document (in Pixelmator, Keynote, Photshop, online at pixlr.com, whatever ...) and another with your logo (and further more ones with additional logos). Drag the jpgs into your iMovie Project and apply dissolves - tadahh! - logos appear on white.

How to make a Web page

I am trying to make a Web page with iWeb 09, but it is really confusing. I presently have a Go Daddy account that forwards my chosen domain name to the obsolete HomePage name I have. When I created the HomePage account, as I recall, it told me the name of the page very clearly, very simple. iWeb does no such thing! I select "Publish" and I get this crazy page that says "Go to your registrar's website (sic). Define web.me.com as the 'www' CNAME (alias) for your domain." That sentence makes no sense! What happened to the simplicity of HomePage. Anyway, I go to Go Daddy and, of course, there is not such thing anywhere obvious. This should be easy. I have a so called Mobile-me account, but it does nothing. What is up with this? Do I even need Go Daddy any more? Any help is very much appreciated.

Any iWeb url is going to be http://web.me.com/username/sitename - so no difference at all.
So when you open iWeb and click on the name of your site you will get the publishing options, so select publish to MobileMe and your site should publish there. Rather than visiting the link, close iWeb and empty your browser cache and then type in your url - http://web.me.com/username/sitename and your site should then come up.
If you want to use your domain name with iWeb you can. Close iWeb and log into your MobileMe account under System Preferences and then go to the Personal Domain name section and enter your domain name in here. Once this is done, close MobileMe and log into your account at GoDaddy.
You do not need to know exactly what CNAME means, but GoDaddy uses CNAME forwarding, so log into your GoDaddy account and go to the DNS setting section. Then set-up a new CNAME, which means forwarding 'www' which is your sub-domain to web.me.com and this should then be set up to forward to your MobileMe published website. Note that when setting this up your alias is your domain name and your host is web.me.com and you are forwarding your domain name (alias) to your host (web.me.com) as this is where your website is published.
If you want to check that your website has actually been published, then you can open System Preferences and click on iDisk and you can then log into your iDisk and go to Web/Sites and check whether there is a folder there with the name of your website on it. If so, then your site has been published.
I am also assuming that as you have posted this in iWeb 09 that you are in fact using iWeb 09?

How to make all web pages not use mobile page

I don't want to see the mobile web page. I want the desktop view. It seems to be grayed out.

I have that installed but it still shows me the mobile version of the site. The desktop icon is grayed out.

After upgrading to 8.0 the add-on compatability tool runs and the Getting Started web page loads every time the browser starts.

After upgrading to 8.0 from 7.0.1 every time I start FF I get the add-on compatibility tool to run and the Getting Started web page loads along with my homepage in separate tabs as well. So far I have tried running the installer again, disabling all add-0ns and custom settings and restarting and turning off automatic updates. Nothing worked there. I got the same behavior each time. I don't know what else to try other than a full uninstall and reinstall. Something I'd like to avoid if it's possible because of the time involved. This is the second time I have posted regarding this issue. The first time I didn't get a response. A solution or a possible workaround would be greatly appreciated if anyone knows of any. As a staff member and a global forum moderator for an anti-virus company I understand how hectic things can be at times but some feedback, good or bad, on this issue would be very welcomed! Hi michaell, thanks for the reply. I tried everything in the Preferences are not saved link you provided and nothing worked there. If creating a new profile will delete all my add-ons and custom settings I might as well just do a complete uninstall and reinstall. That actually would be easier. That article told me how to save my bookmarks though so I don't have to loose those which is nice. I don't know if this makes any difference but there is a discrepancy between the preference file in the article which is: prefs.js and what's showing on my PC which is: prefs with no .js suffix. I tried to rename the file to prefs.js and restarted. No luck there either. It just created another prefs file. I guess we've pretty much exhausted all the avenues to try! IPhone 4s set to manually sync, but every time I try to put a single song on my phone it downloads my entire library. How do I sync individual songs without downloading entire iTunes library?

I recently purged my iPhone 4S of most of its music because I didn't have enough gigabytes of free space to download the latest iOS (my phone was actually completely full). That ticked me off but I didn't have time for a backup. I transferred all purchases to my library and I deleted the music from my phone.
Since then, I've been annoyed that I don't have all my music but I've been enjoying the free space that I have, so I prefer to restore songs from my library individually now, depending what I'm in the mood to hear, and I don't miss having a full phone.
However, whenever I try to manually sync music that was ripped from a CD, music I didn't download from iTunes, but is playable in my iTunes library, iTunes thinks it has to download the entire library, which I don't even have the space for, anyway. However, my iPhone seems fine wirelessly (I have Home Sharing turned on) syncing individual songs which were purchased in the iTunes store.
So whenever I try to sync a single song, or an album perhaps, which was not purchased on iTunes, I get the message "updating files on iphone" and it says it's copying all the thousands of songs in my entire library. But my settings are for manual sync only. I wind up cancelling the sync every time, because I would have to wait for it to finish copying thousands of songs before it got to the one I selected. Why on earth is it doing this?
How do I regain the ability to sync a single song at a time?
This has been exasperating me.

While your iPhone is synching in iTunes, do the following:
1. Click on your iPhone's icon on the left.
2. Find and click on the "Tones" tab on the upper right of the iTunes display.
3. Choose the synch option you would like.
