After upgrading to 8.0 the add-on compatability tool runs and the Getting Started web page loads every time the browser starts.
After upgrading to 8.0 from 7.0.1 every time I start FF I get the add-on compatibility tool to run and the Getting Started web page loads along with my homepage in separate tabs as well. So far I have tried running the installer again, disabling all add-0ns and custom settings and restarting and turning off automatic updates. Nothing worked there. I got the same behavior each time. I don't know what else to try other than a full uninstall and reinstall. Something I'd like to avoid if it's possible because of the time involved. This is the second time I have posted regarding this issue. The first time I didn't get a response. A solution or a possible workaround would be greatly appreciated if anyone knows of any. As a staff member and a global forum moderator for an anti-virus company I understand how hectic things can be at times but some feedback, good or bad, on this issue would be very welcomed! Hi michaell, thanks for the reply. I tried everything in the Preferences are not saved link you provided and nothing worked there. If creating a new profile will delete all my add-ons and custom settings I might as well just do a complete uninstall and reinstall. That actually would be easier. That article told me how to save my bookmarks though so I don't have to loose those which is nice. I don't know if this makes any difference but there is a discrepancy between the preference file in the article which is: prefs.js and what's showing on my PC which is: prefs with no .js suffix. I tried to rename the file to prefs.js and restarted. No luck there either. It just created another prefs file. I guess we've pretty much exhausted all the avenues to try! Get symbol timeline to play EVERY TIME the button is clicked?
I have an animation with a button, when the button is clicked a symbol timeline is played from a label at the beginning of the timeline.
After the button is clicked the first time it will not play the timeline again until the page is refreshed.
How can I get the button to play the symbol's timeline any time it is clicked without having to refresh the page?Yes - you could put your buttons in a group and use $.each. bellow is how to do it but I am sure there are other ways you could do it.
Here is an example - you have a group div called buttons that contains all your different buttons. (they can have any name since it will look for the children of the buttons div in order from bottom to top of the stack in your buttons div. I add a mouseout or mouseleave on the buttons to send the timelines back to 0.
The symbols are called symbol_1, symbol_2, etc in the example below but you could also make an array of the symbol names like var mySymbols = ['first','second','third','fourth','fifth']; and use sym.getSymbol(mySymbols[i]).play();

How can I show the progress of web page loading only in the right bottom of screen?
When I downloaded the first Firefox upgrade that had no progress bar, I somehow found out how to stop the new progress bar (that shows all the progress in web addresses rather than a progressive bar) from jumping around in the bottom left or right of the screen. I had it only appearing in the bottom right of screen. Now a new version of Firefox has been downloaded and is once again jumping around from left to right depending what else is showing on the screen. Most annoying, how do I get it to always appear & remain in only the bottom right again.

I have had FireFox for many years and have upgraded each time without problems. This time when I upgraded to
V10 all seem well until I tried to open FireFox (icon) and it took me to msn.com home page. I uninsulated V10 and tried to replace it with V9, but it also took me to msn. I went to restore (Win 7) hoping it would restore me to the original setup. But then I could not open FireFox or MSN. I restored back to the most recent settings. Still, the Firefox icon keeps bring me back to msn. This is very upsetting since all my favorites are booked marked with FireFox and I prefer using FireFox over any browser. Please help. Firefox is a web browser that grants you access to web based content. MSN is content provider. It sounds like your homepage has just been changed. Is that correct?
You should take a look at the Knowledge Base article [[How to set the home page]]. Your homepage might have been changed by a particular site. Sites like MSN, Yahoo, etc have been know to ask to become your homepage.
There are steps in that article to reset your homepage preferences to default. I would try that first to clear out any strangeness. If that works, you can try setting your homepage again to your personal preference.
If that doesn't work you should look at the article [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Preferences_not_saved Preferences not saved].

Audiobooks (and ringtones) are currently a one-time only download. I believe that they are all supplied to Apple by audible.com, so I assume that it's them who are requiring the one-time only download restriction. To get it onto your other devices you will need to sync it via a computer. Depending upon what country that you are in, Audible.com have their own app (Audiobooks from Audible) so you might be able to buy direct from them, though I don't know whether you can buy within their app or download audiobooks directly from them within the app e.g. whether they need to be copied via a computer. -

I don't know of any 3rd-party tools for creating movie files in LVRT. The AVI functions can't be supported in LVRT because they're based on DirectShow functionalities, which are only available in Windows environments.

I'm trying to logon to my routers configuration webpage. While FF stored the loginname and password, it will not automatically logon. For other accounts it's just working fine. My router is an Cisco RV042
The website might be using autocomplete=off to prevent Firefox from filling form data like name and password automatically.

Firefox won't auto-fill saved form data automatically when autocomplete=off is used and you need to start typing the name to get a drop-down list.
You can check that with the Inspector via the right-click context menu.

How do I make a web page that changes every time the user refreshes it? Is it possible in Muse?
Hi, i'd like to make quite a simple website where the main text in the centre of the page changes every time the user refreshes the page in their browser. I assume i'll have to make one master, and multiple pages that are all the same except for the changes in the text, but i'm not sure how to make it so that every refresh directs to a different page and not just the home page? Is this even possible in Muse?

After upgrading to IOS 5 on my iPad only some books in iBooks show content. They were fine before the upgrade. I made a new version of the book in Pages and reinstalled them on the iPad. Still nothing. What is the fix?
I just got the iBooks update and that fixed the problem, except the book covers look like they were done in a government printing office.

When I open Firefox now, instead of opening up the standard Mozilla start page, it simply opens up a new tab page. Typing in the address bar and then hitting enter results in the address bar being cleared and the page staying the same. Attempting to send feedback via the add-on just opens another new, blank tab. For some odd reason, the Windows title bar has also come back above the orange Firefox button and the tabs.
I am unable to access the add-ons page to uninstall the add-on compatibility add-on to see if that will solve my problem and I have tried uninstalling the beta and reinstalling it, but the problem still remains.Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

I understand that after you updated to iOS 8.2, while typing a message your iPhone seems to be locking itself. In this situation, there are a couple of different troubleshooting steps that I would recommend.
First, I would suggest closing the Messages application completely by using the instructions in the attached article below.

After the Messages app is closed, I would recommend resetting your iPhone using the instructions in the next attached article. After the reset, open Messages fresh and attempt to use as you normally would.
