Never done this before. My Apple TV was perfect until I installed Mountain Lion. Upon syncing my Apple tv, it mysteriously rebooted, asking me language and tv type. Then the Apple comes on, flashing light, and back to language. Apple said hey no longer support it, though it is not very old. Wasted $399. I had ips 180 g almost full of movies, pics, etc. that are now gone. What can I do? Very unhappy with Apple, now.
You can buy Microsoft Office for Mac, it includes Word, Excel and Powerpoint. Or you can download a free copy of LibreOffice which contains substitutes (good ones) for the Microsoft Office programs.
Do not even think of using Boot Camp unless you have a complete and current TM backup or a clone to restore if it goes wrong. You will also need to buy Windows and Microsoft Office for it. And you MUST read the directions very carefully.

I don't know how to do this. I typed the question in the bar above, but apparently need to type it again here. I lost my entire address book when I installed Mountain Lion and have been unable to recover it. I know the information is in there as when I type in someone's name in an email the address always shows up right away. How can I find the information for my contacts and restore my address book? Do I need to go to the Apple Store that is 2 hours away and have an expert help me or can I find out how to do it online for free myself?
The auto-complete in Mail addresses comes from two sources: (1) The "Previous Recipients" list, which can be viewed via Mail > Window > Previous Recipients. (2) Your Address Book (now called "Contacts").
If you did in fact lose your Address Book - are you sure you don't have "Contacts" in your Applications Folder? - It sounds like you are getting addresses from source (1). If you did in fact lose your Address Book (now called "Contacts" !!), you will have to restore it from a backup.

My imessage is not working. I went into settings, then messages, and it says my imessage activation is unsuccessful. What do I do to get imessage working again. When I turn it on it sends imessae through my email not my phone number

Since installing Mountain Lion, my iTunes ejects the CD just prior to showing the screen asking if I want to Import ... so, neither the tracklist nor the music is imported. What can I do???

How do I change the name of my computer?
One area that this appears is on Facebook where it lists the number of Recognized Devices. There are six devices which include iPad and iPhone. These items are grayed and you are unable to change. Also on my iphone it lists the computer name. This name is different from name of my computer. It's what I signed in as when I installed the Mountain Lion upgrade. I know I'm not doing a good job of explaining this. I have searched everywhere on my computer that I can think of and cannot locate where this is used. Any suggestions are appreciated.

When I log ion to my computer and the desktop shows up all of my icons that were on my desktop are no longer there. Then a virus message pops up and asks me if I would like to buy some antivirus software and then a error report shows up and it ask me if I would like to send the error report out and then it gives me the option if I do not want to send it out.

Sounds like the Word file may have right justification. You can turn that off within Word.

My iPad shows message needs to be backed up. When connected to iTunes it shows all backed up. Cannot get rid of message by clicking ok. IPad therefore is frozen. What to do?

You might try a forced shutdown to begin with, hold down the top and home buttons together until the device shuts down, then restart it. -
I open a new window and two sites appear, One I had never heard of till now. Digg. I can't open a new tab from these tabs, there is never an x on the tab and close all other tabs does not get rid of them.
Do a malware check with a few malware scan programs.<br />
You need to use all programs because each detects different malware.<br />
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of the database before doing a scan.<br />

I can't install Mountain Lion?
So these past few days, a bunch of things have been going wrong with my mac. First, I was using iMovie and while on it, my computer would just turn black and I'd have to restart. I thought I could software update it, but when I did that, all of the programs on my ILife and Chrome stopped working. I also can't use other programs that I was using before the software update.
Also, the software update installed NOTHING. It just restarts my computer and nothing installs. When I click software update again, those same updates are available for installation. Safari is like one out of the two programs I can still use on my macbook.
I thought a remedy to this situation would be to download Mountain Lion. I was wrong. I can download Mountain Lion in like an hour, but when the "Install Mountain Lion" part comes up, it just freezes with the rainbow ball for hours and I can't install it.
I just want my programs and computer to work like it did 4 days ago... can anyone help?If you are running Lion...
Boot up holding command-r keys into your Recovery Volume.

Restore from TM backup
Reinstall Mac OS X
Get help online
Disk Utility
First run Disk Utility Repair Disk, if you get errors run until no errors reported or reports "the disk cannot be fixed". Then, choose Reinstall OS X. This will be an install "in place" and shouldn't effect any of your own data or settings.
If you are running SL then boot from your SL disk by holding the "c" key. -

Call Apple anyway. If the device was ever registered with then they will have the serial # on file and can look you up by other info such as your name or phone number.
To re-enable an iPad any computer with iTunes should work. However, if your data was not backed up to iCloud you will not be able to access it until you get back to your home computer. -

The hub may not be broken per se, but Apple has made adjustments to the limits on current that can be drawn from ports.
You probably need a new hub.
