I am trying to figure out why my songs are cutting out anywhere in the song and will not play and skip to next.
Hi my name is jeff. I bought a ipod touch 6 months ago it was working untill now. I am wondering why it can stop at any time during any song and go silent for the rest of the song. Ive been having this problem for 2 days now. Wondering if anyone has the same type of problem. ive done everything its told to try and fix all the updates for itunes and my ipod but it still will not work.
Just saying " done everything its told to try and fix" provides us with zerio information as to what you tried.
- Do the songe play OK in iTunes on the computer?
- Have you unsynced and resynced the music
- A reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iPod

My computer is authorized to play songs I have purchased, but songs still will not play. I tried to deauthorize and authorize again. I click on the song, I log in to authorize, Then it says "okay your computer is already authoized" So i click on the song, and it still doesn't play and keeps doing the same thing over and over again! I am getting so mad! Someone please help!

Because I'm constantly downloading & deleting new apps; struggling to figure out what the app folders should be called, where they should they be placed, and how to find them in the mess of apps & app folders; and because I don't know what it is about the design that has created this problem; I don't know what to do about it & I'm confused.
I'm really curious about how small or big of a problem this is, if at all. Is anyone else wasting a lot of precious time which could be used for important things? Plus, is Apple trying to fix the problem like I asked them to? Thanks.I didn't mean that it's Apple's fault. Jeez, you've mis-interpreted my message, and already you're judging me. I've always had this immediate judgmental reaction & organizational problem. Plus, I have many disabilities like autism.
What I meant was that certain people like me have trouble with organization; taking notes; understanding how technology, the world, real life, people, etc work; etc(especially since nobody ever taught me how to be organized).
So sorry if I seem to be the only one who's having trouble understanding how to best use app folders. Sorry about that, I'm having a messed-up, bad day today.
Anyways, it's even harder because there is/are no universal standard methods/controls/commonality/design/etc across many different companies/products/etc when it comes to technology).
I'm used to using home computers where you can categorize emails, folders, software, etc by name/type/date/etc.
I can't help it if I wasn't taught many of the things most people knew well before I did. I had to choose between academic classes/school/etc and small easy classes.
Basically, what I'm trying to say is that Apple isn't to blame; but the design can be confusing to some people & it can help aid the person into creating this problem themselves.
Plus, it increases the likelihood & possibility of the person developing this problem while using the iPad based on many different factors. So, Apple & their design are not responsible, but the design doesn't help the situation for some people. -
So I've started my quest for the correct information and software required to completely erase and then re-install the OS on my G4 Power PC (Quicksilver 2002) roughly 2 days ago only to be stuck and very frustrated! So I could more than likely figure this out on own BUT the OS currently installed is so screwed up I cant even safe mode start it.. so I cant get the information I need from the "about this Mac" details if it were running. Is there another way to figure the correct OS X and build I'll need to reformat. I just want to return it to it's factory state and then give it to my kid. Anyone's help on this matter will be so very appreciated. Thanks

Trying to figure out a Network Extender Problem
So I am not at a loss for trying to figure out what's the issue with my NE that I just got since I've had VZW service issues in my home for months.
Network:
Cable Modem->NAT Server -> Switch -> Network Extender
I've never had any IPsec issues using VPN on any of my work laptops with either Array or Cisco VPN. I went into the NAT server and port forwarding 53,500,4500,52428 on both UDP and TCP. I've tested that it works to another laptop behind the NAT box using both bit torrent tests / windows RDP. So the forwarding should work. I know there is no front end to the NE (which is frustrating) since I am seeing traffic come out the NAT to VZW (and VZW has shown me the local IP). So any advice here? If I plug the NE directly into the Cable Modem, works great in about 5 minutes. I find it hard to believe that this thing won't work with a switch (as per Samsung).
Any other advice here? I might have to add a 3rd NIC to my NAT Server just to dedicate to the NE if I can get the above to work.

I have activated iTunes match and iCloud, now when I go to my Music app and choose me 'best' playlist, I see a button at the bottom of the list that says download all. If I choose this option every song in that playlist begins downloading (near 1,000), this is taking up memory on my phone instead of using the cloud. If i DO NOT download all of the songs they do not play correctly (skipping certain songs, not playing all the way through, etc.) What's this all about and what can I do about it? Why are my songs not just playing through iCloud? I thought that was the point.....
To be honest, you shouldn't need a great 3G service for it to be able to keep up with a song, but if it's a very weak signal then it could be the problem.
Unless you have unlimited 3G then I would recommend using wi-fi anyway, as you could easily run into monthly limits otherwise.
Do you think that it works better with wi-fi than 3G, or just the same? If it is the same then I would have to question whether this is actually your problem.
As to whether you should download songs beforehand, I would say that as a temporary measure it probably makes sense if it's possible as it will download them anyway and that way you get to listen to the music properly. However it does mean that you have to start downloading before you start listening which may be annoying.
I'd be interested to hear whether the performance is better with wi-fi than 3g though. It could be that I'm barking up the wrong tree. -

New IOS causing weird email issues. Also trying to figure out why mail taking so much room?
Two part question. :I have been trying to figure out what is causing the large amount of "other" in my Iphone memory which has essentially wiped out my 16gb 4s.
After a lot of hunting around, it looks like 6.2 gb is just in my email settings, which seems very high. I do save emails for awhile on the phone, but periodically clean it out and never have had this issue until quite recently. Usually I didn't even notice the "other" part of my memory when syncing.
Second issue--as part of my process, I downloaded the latest IOS (7.0.3) and after I did that, it shows I have 483 "flagged" emails in my mail folder.
I actually have 31. Any idea what could be causing this? Before I downloaded the new IOS, this # was always acccurate, but now this # is way off. Wondering if there could be any tie in to the memory issue?
Also, trying to figure out how to manage the email down to a # that won't take up so much of my memory. Again, it seems like just in the past month my "other" category started to grow, but my email usage and # I save hasn't changed drastically so not sure why it is growing so rapidly.
I have downloaded iexplorer, but can't figure out how to view any possible duplicate emails or issues there? Haven't tried a restore, if I restore will I lose all of the emails on the phone.
Any ideas?As additional info, when I delete an item from flagged folder, it still shows 483 items aa flagged. Very strange.
Before I downloaded the new IOS, if I deleted a "flagged" item, it reduced the # accordingly. -
I am trying to figure out why info in the body of a calendar appointment does not show up on the iPad. The appointment shows up, but not the notes I had added. Does that info get pushed and if so what setting am I missing?

Trying to figure out why is there a keystroke delay many times in Pages and Numbers? I'm on a 2010 macPro running Lion
I had a similar problem when working on a long Pages doc (40,000 words).The glitch only occurred on this one Pages file and affected no other applications. I fixed it by duplicating the file, trashing the original and working on the new document. I have no idea of the cause of the problem.

I'm using a XM skydock system and trying to figure out why I cant hear my phone calls through ny radio. I can hear it ring, i can also hear my music play...
What is selected under the Photos tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes?
If the videos are in an iPhone compatible format and are in a folder of photos selected to be transferred to your iPhone under the Photos tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes, do you also have Include Videos selected under the Photos tab?
Or if the videos are in an iPhone compatible format, they need to be in your iTunes library and can be selected under the Movies tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes to be transferred to your iPhone. -
I am connected to the computer with my phone and it says there are 0 photos to import, however I have over 200 on my phone to import. I am trying to figure out how to get itunes to recognize the photos on my phone. This has never happened before.
Have you tried to reset the iPhone and tried again to import?

I am trying to figure out where to properly place commands in the many stated/existing BASH configuration files —reading the wiki and the man page I see there are what at first glance are too many files:

Maybe I am asking some obvious question (this is why I am asking it in the newbie corner) but please, have in mind that for someone coming from the Windows world some things/concepts are totally alien at first sight, for eg: in Windows you start Powershell and you have one (only one) place to set your configuration options and the like. Here I am offered with:
• 2 possible system-wide files: /etc/profile and /etc/bash.bashrc
• 2 possible user-specific files: ~/.bash_profile and ~/.bashrc
• 1 possible user-specific files: ~/.bash_login (and ~/.bash_logout)
... so I have (at least) 5 different places to execute commands upon login.
I was carefully reading all the files present on my current installation and now I understand what "indirectly sourced" means: including (if the file is present just insert it here)
I still don't understand what commands should be placed in which file; for eg: system-wide aliases should be placed in /etc/profile or in /etc/bash.bashrc ?
One more time, I am not a rocket-scientist nor I am a dummy, but the wiki just states file precedence without offering any details as best practices or something like that and just figure out: that for such a basic-thing I am getting different answers from two users (someone with 6000+ posts) ... either one: or the wiki is not clear or this thing is a little more complex than it seems at first sight ... just my thought.

Noob trying to figure out keybindings
I just started using this desktop last week. I'm trying to figure out why I can't change keybindings. I go into Preferences -> Desktop Preferences -> Keyboard -> Shortcuts, and try to change some of the default values, but none of them seem to do anything. I enter a new key combo for, say screen lock (default is Disabled) and the new value gets saved (and is still there when I open it again), but the new setting doesn't actually work. I punch the new combo and the screen doesn't lock. Actions with default values though do work.
Any thoughts what's going on here?I'm trying to set the 'Lock Screen' shortcut to '<Mod4>l'. It lets me set the key combo, but then doesn't recognize it when I try to use it. It does work if I use '<Control>l'. There is a default shortcut using the Mod4 key that does work. The 'Show Run Dialog' setting uses '<Mod4>r' by default, and that one works.
It's not a huge deal, it just would be nice for it to work.
