I am trying to get my digital sound output to recognize the usb port
I have a HP Pavilion Entertainment PC
I installed a Diamond Multimedia software and wireless dongle (usb style) to be able to put my screen output on my tv. The output works fine, but when I select the sound the digital output to usb is not there. It is to HP dock only. How do I change that, since I don't have a HP dock.
There isn't a USB port on my mini.
Your Mac Mini has at least two and more likely Four USB ports on it. If it has USB3 ports, they are backward compatible to older USB.
Computer chassis tends to use the flat square USB-A connector shape, like the one on a wired keyboard. A USB A-to-B cable or A-to-Mini B cable or A-to-micro_B cable may be needed.

You don't say which film you're struggling to download, I had problems with a-team and I ended up emailing the address on the leaflet, turns out they had a lot of problems with people's codes, they then gave me a new code to use! I have now managed to get the film downloaded?

I've upgraded to OS 10.8.2 and my Bowers and Wilkins MM-1 Speakers were working fine until today, and now they won't play any sound at all, even though iTunes shows the audio is playing. I've tried both the headphone jack and the USB port. Please help! I don't want to have to be stuck using my internal speakers!

Thanks. I haven't mixed down the audio or checked the number of tracks in Prefs. Good points.
As far as a mixdown goes, I'll definitely give it a try, though I wonder whether or not the tracks will be recognized during mix down recording - given that you can't hear either of those segments in playback. Just have to try.
Re the preferred number of allowed tracks - I'll go check as soon as I send this off, but I'm not sure that applies in this case, since the two Channels containing the segments that are pinked out are not in additional tracks. I should have mentioned that other audio clips and segments on the same Channels in the SAME tracks ARE heard in playback. As are two additional track in the 2nd Sequence. It's only when the two sequences are joined that the pink tinted segments can't be heard. Within the sequence the same audio cuts playback as they should. Thanks again &

2nd day w/my ipad2. Have spent 5 hours trying to get my ipod music to play on the ipad..it has been downloaded and synced. When I click on itunes , I get a window that says "Apple mobile device service is not started." I get music symbol when click ipod.

Digital sound output only after using Headphones
i used my MacbookPro 17 2.66
with headphones to listen to music and after i removed headphones there is a red light in the headphone port and only digital sound output option in system preferences control panel

ThanksGenerally that means your headphones' plug is not exactly to dimensional stands and has jammed the internal connector in the jack to the "mute" position. The plug's tip-to-shoulder distance seems to be the variable.
I've found with my MBP that, with non-standard plugs, inserting them only until they function--not until the "stop shoulder" hits the MBP case--prevents this. I have an old and cheap set of external speakers whose plug works perfectly. A patch cable I use to connect to my desktop sound system has a non-standard plug, and I have to leave the plug slightly out of the jack to prevent the problem you see. Again, insert until you hear proper sound to the device, not by feel. I've no problems with the plugs falling out using this technique.
The "official" fix is a new logic board but most people are able to free the internal contact by inserting a plus into the jack and gently wiggling it in the horizontal plane. One person recently said he freed his with a wooden toothpick.
If you use anything other than a standard plug to manipulate the jack, be certain it's non-conductive. BTW, if you use the "Search Discussion" option in the upper right of this page and search for "red light" (use the quotes) you will see a number of threads here on the subject. -
hello ive been trying to get this matter token care of for the past 24 hrs and still no help im getting very upset now I paid 100 plus $$ to have this program that isn't even working I would like to speak to someone about on the phone I got a 1800 number for tech but everytime I call it hangs up and says to chat........ ive been doing that all day yesterday its kinda getting old telling the same thing over n over again so I would like some real live help a number I can call or someone can call me 402 802 1211 everytime I try to do something on this it ask for my serial num I put it in and it says invalid number and when I do my pics it has trail across them

When trying to install a digital copy, everything works including the downloading, until it is processing to iTunes then I receive "You do not have enough access privilages for this operation. Check the disk to make sure it is clean and retry." error.
Tryed several times, Same Results. Tryied rebooting, logging out & into iTunes, Same Result. Seems to do this error with every digital copy, but works eventually. But now will not post digital copy to my iTunes at all. Just same error over and over.
Any Thoughts??Oddly enough. I think I just solved it. It looks like, for some reason, my computer has about 8 different "iTunes music" folders, and I've been saving my music to the wrong one. Neat. Music now imports and plays as it should. Copying things over is going to be so fun tonight!

I am trying to set up my new iPad 2 and to begin I installed iTunes on my laptop and connected the iPad to the USB port. Neither Windows or iTunes recognizes the device. I did everything this site told me to try and still no luck. Help!
You will not be able to see what version you are running until the iPad is activated. It will be in Settings>General>About >Version when you can get to the settings app.
The slider bar that you are describing sounds like the screen lock side switch and that has no bearing on setting up the iPad or connecting to WiFi.
Why don't you try rebooting your router? Unplug it for about 30 seconds and then plug it in again and see if the iPad will recognize and join the network.
