In the first table, there are two rows for Windows: one for the ActiveX control for IE, and one for the plugin for Firefox. You might want to grab both. And try the .msi files instead of the .exe files to see whether those work better.

It's odd that on a newly rebuilt system your More System Details shows that you have a user.js file, which is an optional settings files used to override your previous session settings. This is not part of the standard Firefox installation, so if you did not create that file yourself, you may want to investigate or delete it. Go to Tools | Options and choose the Security tab from the Options dialog. Check the "Remember passwords for sites" checkbox. Click the Exceptions button to make sure the site you want to remember is not listed.
From that point on, Firefox will record the username and password combination you enter for a site provided it can recognized those fields in the website form. If the username and password are not already recorded for that site, a bar will expand down at the top of the webpage below the page tabs asking you if you want to remember or ignore that new information. Clicking the Remember button will record that information for that site. When you visit that same form again, either the single recorded username and password should automatically appear in the form fields, or a drop-down list of choices will appear when you set the focus to that field. The choices can be filtered by typing the first letters.
If the "Save password" checkbox you mentioned is displayed on the webpage, it is not a part of Firefox and is a function of the webpage of that site, so it does not affect the ability of Firefox to remember usernames and passwords for a particular site.

Firefox goes to my mail immediately after I enter user name and password. I dont have time to check the save password box even tho it does flash by.

I had the same promblem using my ipad2, I thought i was going crazy, then I noticed once when I put my user name in and checked it was right, one time it dropped the last letter of my U/N as went to hit submit so i went back put the deleted "m" back into ".com", hit enter, put in my password multiple times, tripple checked, no joy. So I hit remote on my iphone4s did the same UN/PW and it worked first time!      I can, with 99.99% certainty, tell you that you are absolutely right in not wanting to download or install this "Helper," whatever it is (but we can be equally certain it would not "help" anything).
     I cannot comment as to Oglethorpe's recommendation of 'adwaremedic'; I am unfamiliar with it. His links to the Apple discussion and support pages warrant your time and attention.
     It might be really simple -- Trying looking in your Downloads folder, trash anything that you don't know with certainty is something you want to keep, and then Secure Empty your Trash. Then remove the AdBlock extension, LastPass, and Web of Trust extensions to Safari and re-boot. If the issue goes away, still be extraordinarily careful in the future.
     Unfortunately, it's probably not going to be that simple to get rid of, in which case I'd then try the line by line editing in HT203987.
     I have no further suggestions (other than a complete wipe and re-install...but that's a pain because trying to restore from Time Machine would simply ... restore the Mal).
   For the rest of us, please post when you find a solution.

Evidently it looks like you've forgotten the passcode or it's being entered incorrectly each time. What you can do is Restore the iPod as a New Device through Recovery Mode in iTunes and then restore from backup afterwards.

I can't keep Yahoo mail account open 2 weeks in a row even with a mark in box KEEP ME OPEN. I did go to Tools, Options, Security to check SAVED PASSWORD box

Usually, after opening Firefox, to check my Yahoo mail, I log in with my password, and mark the little box in front of KEEP ME OPEN, I can check my mail, and then close Firefox. Whenever I open Firefox, I can access my Yahoo mail account without typing my password. It stays open for 2 weeks. From yesterday, whenever I close Firefox, to access my mail account, I must log in again no matter whatever I've tried such as: Tools-Options-Security-Saved Password, or log out, then log in, type PW, mark little box to KEEP ME OPEN. I even uninstall Firefox, restart, download and re-install Firefox 8.0. The problem can never be solved. It's very annoying to log in by typing again and again my PW. Please help me out since I don't know what causes this problem. Thanks everybody who can help me out.

Benji, I did get the email server error message again last night around 8PM, but again the email does eventually go. Wondering if the 6PM to 9PM time frame is a busy time for Yahoo email servers and somehow our iTouch or portable devices take a lower priority? I seem to get the error only once a day now around that time, then everything seems fine again...could be a server issue.
Still looking for a pattern with the blank white web pages when I try and view a previous web page. Seems to happen most when I look at the "iPod touch User Guide" (on the included bookmarks)...most of the other times the previous web page loads fine so....humm....
I also had an issue with the Camera app today, the red light button and Picture/Video switch were staying dimmed...finally turned off the iTouch (holding down the Home button then pressing the Sleep/Off button on top) then turned it back on, so the iOS could reboot. That fixed the Camera app. Might want to try that too....seems like it might be a fix for a few things, especially after updating to iOS 4.2.1...

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Save dialog box for text and pdf files

Hi,
I am using CRM UI framework for developing my components.
Currently i have a hyperlink for a file. On click of the hyperlink i want the Save dialog box to appear with SAVE/OPEN/CANCEL options. For Word/Excel/PPT files, dialog box appears. However for txt/PDF files, dialog box does not appear.

First of all, you need an app on the iPad that can read those files that you want to transfer. Adobe Reader and iBooks are two free apps that will read PDF files. Adobe Reader is much more robust than iBooks as it offers so many more features like renaming files, creating folders, annotating, highlights, etc.
Download Adobe Reader in the App Store. Then read this about file sharing with iTunes.

There are other ways to get files to the iPad, like email, DropBox and some other apps that let you mount your iPad like a flash drive.

They made an error with the update in only listing it as compatible with Firefox 4.0, so they will not install on Firefox 4.0.1 and subsequent Firefox security updates. Am unable to download/updaate ACR on windows 8.1 and CS6. Get error "Application Manger Damaged". Downloaded new application manager, same result. How to proceed?

Have just upgraded to new computer running windows 8.1 and downloaded CS6. Unable to upload Nikon D800 raw files, but can upgrade Canon G10 raw files. When I try to upgrade ACR, I get error message "Application Manager Damaged", so download new Application Manager with the same result. CS6 came with ACR 7.0.0.308 which seems like it should process the D800 raw files. How do I proceed?
