I am using MAC OSX 10.9.4 and LR5 Ver 5.6. I can't drag LR to my second screen. It's always worked before. All of my other apps drag to the second screen with no issues. I've re-booted my computer and it did't help. Any ideas???

Make sure you are not in one of the full screen modes.
Window > Screen Mode > Normal
Can you see the "Traffic Lights" at the top left of the Lightroom window?

The videos that I import (and are located on the bottom of imovie) will show up and play on the right hand screen. But if I move that clip to the actually project area it won't play in the right hand side! I somehow must have clicked something that now won't play the project videos and now plays the clips below instead! Help please I need to fix this! Everythign else works, I can still edit videos, add transitions, music, etc I just can't see it on the right hand side- so I can't edit because I can't see

whenever i redownload itunes all my other apps like mircrosoft word turns into an itunes link so whenever i click microsoft word it goes to itunes, and this happens to all my apps and some curcial system components??

Have cleared space, checked Window - Doctor and server has green light. Mail Activity shows 47 emails waiting to download, iPad and iPhone download them all OK - no extra big files stopping the download either. In the past, quitting mail has worked, but not today... Any suggestions?

I wonder if somebody can help me. I am not able to use my internet bank anymore, since Java launched their latest update (7.51) a few days ago. Appearently this one is not compatible with my hardware. I am using Mac OSX version 10.6.8, and Java version 17.0, which seems to be the newest one for my op sys. Anybody know how I can solve this? By default, OS X Mavericks 10.9.5 Network MTU is set to 1500. If you perform the following at your SMB server, with an MTU of 1500, you will likely receive Message too long, and the SMB share takes a very long while to mount. This might be the contributing factor that has you believe it is an SMB MTU configuration issue.
ping -c 1 -D -s 1500 smbserver
If you dial the Network MTU down in a custom setting, the ping is immediate, and the SMB share mounts briskly. I tried values in small decrements until the message too long ceased.
ping -c 1 -D -s 1472 smbserver
I have done some searching and I do not see how, in Apple's current SMB implementation, that one can configure /etc/nsmb.conf to reduce SMB MTU size. See man nsmb.conf.

It is now confirmed that iWeb, and iDVD, has been discontinued by Apple. This is evidenced by the fact that new Macs are shipping with iLife 11 installed but without iWeb and iDVD.
On June 30, 2012 MobileMe will be shutdown. However, iWeb will still continue to work but without the following:
Features No Longer Available Once MobileMe is Discontinued:

◼ Blog and photo comments
◼ Blog search
◼ Hit counter
◼ MobileMe Gallery
All of these features can be replaced with 3rd party options.
I found that if I published my site to a folder on my hard drive and then uploaded with a 3rd party FTP client subscriptions to slideshows and the RSS feed were broken. If I published directly from iWeb to the FPT server those two features continued to work correctly.
There's another problem and that's with iWeb's popup slideshows. Once the MMe servers are no longer online the popup slideshow buttons will not display their images.

However, Roddy McKay and I have figured out a way to modify existing sites with those slideshows and iWeb itself so that those images will display as expected once MobileMe servers are gone. How to is described in this tutorial: #26 - How to Modify iWeb So Popup Slideshows Will Work After MobileMe is Discontinued.
It now appears that the iLife suite of applications offered on disc is now a discontinued product and the remaining supported iApps will only be available thru the App Store from now on. However, the iLife 11 boxed version that is still available at the online Apple Store (Store button at the top of the page) and those still on the shelves of retailers will include iWeb and iDVD. Those two apps were listed in small, gray text on the iLife 11 box that I bought.
Personally, if I didn't already have a copy I would purchase one to have it for reinstallation purposes if ever needed.

Did anyone buy a MacBook Pro Retina 13" from Best Buy this Black Friday?
I'm having an issue where the WiFi disconnects after the MacBook wakes from sleep but only after a couple of minutes.
Once the WiFi disconnects, I can't reconnect to the same network and sometimes it won't find nearby networks.
I have to turn off the WiFi and wait for at least 5 seconds before turning it back on for it to auto-reconnect to my home network.
If I wait less than 5 seconds, it will continue to attempt connection to the home network but won't connect.
I've tried reformatting and deleting my network configurations as well as resetting my modem, power cycling it, etc.
I am using 2Wire Gateway modem/router from AT&T on b/g network.
I've tried connecting to a friend's network under Time Warner Cable and the same issue occurs.
I exchanged the MacBook at a Best Buy for a brand unopened one (I hope) and the same exact thing happens with this new one.
Really, I can't be the only one with this issue. Unless in a 0.00001% chance I received two defective units in a row?

I spent 6 hours over multiple days on the phone with Apple support trying a variety of things (some of which are mentioned above), and none of them worked. They finally sent me a replacement laptop. I made sure to try it periodicaly as I was moving files and installing applications to see if I ran into it again and things seemed okay at first but now I am running into the same issue and it is terribly annoying. I've got 5 other devices that connect to the same router and I've never had this issue with any of them.
My router is a Linksys E2000. I haven't tried changing the router channel but I have tried to cnnecting to other networks in the building I live in and I have run into the same issue there. -
I am going through startup on Macbook Air 11. When I get to the "Sign in with Your Apple ID" screen, I keep getting the message, "Couldn't sign in because of server error." I am connected to wifi. Any ideas on how to proceed?

Using Mac OSX 10.7.1: recently replaced our DSL modum and wireless router, suddenly I can't get some web sites to load. Many do, but Twitter and others often do not. I've reset the browsing history, forms, cookies and cache but it continues to happen.
Ok, first thing, why are you doing anything with WAMP or XAMPP when you're running a Mac? MAMP should be what you want unless you're not explaining part of what you are trying to do.
2nd thing, I haven't used MAMP in a while, but there are two possibilities for not seeing what you want to see once you have MAMP turned on. One possibility is that you already have "Web Sharing" turned on in your Sharing Preference Pane. If that is the case, port 80 will already be taken and you'll be seeing the default Apache install (files are stored at /Library/WebServer/Documents/). This would push MAMP to either not turn on it's web serving capabilities, or to push it to another port. The other possibility is that MAMP defaults to another port anyway. So instead of localhost, you might have to type in localhost:8080 or something similar. I believe the control panel that gets installed can take you to the currently MAMP-served page, and it can also help you change which port your serving on.
80 is the default port for web serving and the ONLY port that will let you get straight to the server without having to type in webaddress.com:port# instead of just webaddress.com. -

I'm having trouble setting up a VPN using MAC OSX 10.4.11 Server. I have and XSAN system and one of my volumes has been down for quite a while now. There is a very kind MAC IT professional that is willing to help be troubleshoot my system but he needs to be able to access my system remotely. I am able to connect the MDC to DSL but I haven't been able to set up the VPN. Please help, this is an emergency. Thanks!

My IPOD Touch initially had a white screen. I tried correcting this by restoring default settings via ITunes. The Restore Failed with error 1602 and now the IPOD touch is completely dead. It will not power on or respond when I plug it into my PC via USB. I get an error on my PC stating that device attached to USB port is not recognizable. Can anyone help?
