I bought an app on one username, but when it tells me to update I can only use a different name that is preset. How do I switch the username?

I am signed in on a username thatI boght the app. however when i want to update the app it only offres me a different usename that didnt pay for the app. so i will ahve to buy it again which i obviously dont want to do. how do i switch the name, it doesnt offer a way to do so.
please help!!

Go to settings, scroll down to store, click on AppleID at the bottom, and sign out. Then sign in with the other Apple ID.
WARNING!!! I have no idea what might happen to apps/music/movies you've downldoaded with the first ID... it may be that they'll be wiped!! Back up and get them out of iTunes first!!

You should be able to link your phone number by following the steps in the article below. From your iPhone, sign out of FaceTime and iMessage and then sign back in and it should link. Check in the Start Conversation With and I Can Be Reached at section in iMessage and FaceTime respectively.

How can the artist view pictures in music be updated in IOS 7? My device (Ipod Touch 5th) used to have the artist pictures but when I restored it from factory default, it only used the pictures from the album.

Please help. I have updated to the IOS 7 and there was a cool feature in the Music app wherein when you view an album artist, i think apple updates the picture of that artist from their gallery. But when I decided to restore to factory defaults, it never came back and only uses the picture from the albums.

I have the same problem. After a full restore my iphone 5 does not display the artist photos, but it does show the correct album covers once i go into that group. Instead i get a grey box with diagonal writing saying the band name but no picture.

You downloaded iTunes AND installed it, right? What you downloaded is the installer, which installs the iTunes app (and other things like drivers) on your computer. You then have to run the iTunes app.
If you did that already, make sure the USB docking cable's plug is completely inserted into the shuffle's headphones jack, as shown in this document

When connected, the shuffle's light should come ON. That indicates it is getting power. If it blinks orange (at least initially), that indicates it is connecting for data.
If you are good so far, in iTunes, the sidebar (along left side of window) may be hidden. If it is, from the menu bar, under View, select Show Sidebar. When the shuffle is connected, it should be listed in the sidebar, below DEVICES. Does it appear there?

Both atv,s are on the same network, they are wirless and the computer can see them and they are named different.
what ever one i switch on first gets to stream from my computer and the other one asks for home sharing to be switched on, then if i switch both off and start the other one first it gets to stream and the other one which worked asks for home sharing to be turned on. i have hidden all functionality, netflix etc as these are for my 7yr old kids.

On the iPad you bought is running on iOS 5.o , 5.1 or 5.1.1
if both of the iPads are on 5.x.x then try using the same id on both iPads and go in setting on your daughters iPad then scroll down to app store
tap it
sign out the other id and put the same id as yours in the feild and turn on the apps download and books download also try staying near wifi (both the iPADS)
then delete your magazine on the iPad you just downloaded and try downloading it again so icloud can transfer it to the other iPad as the accounts will be same and the music app and book store will be enabled.....for some further assisstance reply

No. purchases are forever tied to the apple ID used to buy them. Delete them and buy your own copies.

Yes, unless the iOS version is explicitly marked as free. Mac OS X and iOS versions of the same application are separate products.

I've never seen this issue, and I handle many iPads, of all versions. WiFi issues are generally local to the WiFi router - they are not all of the same quality, range, immunity to interference, etc. You have distance, building construction, and the biggie - interference.
At home, I use Apple routers, and have no issues with any of my WiFi enabled devices, computers, mobile devices, etc - even the lowly PeeCees. I have locations where I have Juniper Networks, as well as Aruba, and a few Netgears - all of them work as they should.
The cheaper routers, Linksys, D-Link, Seimens home units, and many other no name devices have caused issues of various kinds, and even connectivity.
I have no idea what Starbucks uses, but I always have a good connection, and I go there nearly every morning and get some work done, as well as play.
You could try changing channels, 2.4 to 5 Gigs, changing locations of the router. I have had to do all of these at one time or another over the many years that I have been a Network Engineer.
