My iMac which I bought in May 2011, (yes the warranty for one year just ran out) but I have 3 years through Best Buy, was making a really loud humming noise yesterday so I shut it down and restarted and now I have the flashing folder on a grey screen. I don't know if I have lost everything on that computer as I am not sure if I set up or needed to set up the time machine when I bought it. I am not super mac savvy (yet) and would love some help to try and not only fix this issue but to find out how I can check and see if what I have on there is automatically backed up or not. I need help! Thanks in advance!!!
Do you have an Install Disc?
If so...
"Try Disk Utility
1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu at top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
*Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.*
3. Click the First Aid tab.
4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
5. Click Repair Disk, (not Repair Permissions). Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."

Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
If perchance you can't find your install Disc, at least try it from the Safe Boot part onward.
If 10.7.0 or later...
Bootup holding CMD+r, or the Option/alt key to boot from the Restore partitirion & use Disk Utility from there. -
Whenever I opened a new tab with older versions of Firefox 3.6.n, I would see thumbnails of some of the pages I'd visited before. I love this feature, but I do not know how to restore it after downloading and installing FF 3.6.13. What do I need to do to get this feature back? Is there a possible conflict with another add-on or toolbar? I have these toolbars: Google, The Free Dictionary, and Amazon.com. (The plug-ins you can see below.) Incidentally, the Firefox version displayed in the "educated guesses" section is not correct: it shows 3.0.11 and using the Help menu and choosing About Mozilla Firefox, it displays 3.6.13.

I purchased the Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 for windows. I was given a disc to download it onto my computer. Recenlty my computer died so I purchased a new Mac. How can I download my Adobe Suite license onto my new Mac?
To get a Windows versions of CS5.5 onto a Mac you would have to try using a Windows emulator such as Bootcamp. CS5.5 does not qualify for a platform swap, so you will not be able to acquire a Mac version of it unless you find someone selling it.

After setting up an "Exchange" mail account on my device, iPad/iPhone, it requires a new passcode to be set before data will be downloaded. I did this on the iPad and now have to enter that passcode everytime I turn it on. How do I avoid needing to enter a passcode on my iPhone everytime I turn it on?
The passcode is a requirement set by the administrator of the Exchange server you are connecting to.
It is purely for security purposes.
If you do not want the passcode, you must remove the Exchange account. There is no way around it. -
I was given an iPhone 3G, reset it, and now have picture which I believe indicates I should connect to my computer and iTunes. Have done so, clicked download which was done, but nothing changes on the phone. I know I can only upgrade to ios 4.2 but how do I do this?

From what you describe it sounds like the phone is in recovery mode. Try connecting the phone to the wall charger that it came with, and perform a reset then connect it to iTunes again and try:
Reset
You should reset your device as a last resort and only if you can't restart it.
To reset, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.
