  • I have used Firefox for many years. Now I can receive E-mail but cannot send it from Firefox. Just re-installed Mozilla and still cann't send E-mail.....

I cannot send mail from Firefox. Can receive E-mail but cannot send it. This worked OK until today. I have had firefox for many years. Just reinstalled Mozilla and still cannot send E-mail from firefox.
I use comcast.net for E-mail,using Mozilla to get there.

If your Office email account's SMTP authenticated?
Any error message provided and if so, what?
Are you also accessing an email account and SMTP server provided by SBCGlobal.net with either email client and if so, are you able to send messages with this account and SMTP server when connected to the internet via SBCGlobal.net at home?
And let me get this straight - both email clients work fine without any problems sending messages with your Office email account and SMTP server when connected to the internet at a friend's house that uses another ISP besides SBCGlobal.net but this is an Apple problem?
If an Apple problem, then you'd have problems sending messages with this account and SMTP server regardless whose network and ISP you are connected to.
Regardless what this more than likely under-trained or just unaware person at SBCGlobal.net told you, all ISPs have restrictions on using an SMTP server that is outside of their network or that isn't provided by the ISP used for connecting to the internet.
Some ISPs allow the use of an authenticated server only that is outside of their network but some block its use regardless.
Within the last year or so, SBCGlobal.net made a drastic change in regards to such restrictions and conveniently neglected to inform their customers beforehand. Those using an SMTP server that was outside of SBCGlobal.net's network regardless if the SMTP server was authenticated were required to "opt out" of Port 25 blocking with SBCGlobal.net in order to use an SMTP server that was outside of their network which was working fine before this change was made.
Have you opted out of Port 25 blocking with SBCGlobal.net?

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts   Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

  • When I log in to my hotmail account on mu apple Ipad, I see inbox only and cannot see the word ''new'' to send emails. So I can read my emails but cannot send. Where is the feature to send emails.

QUESTION : when I log into hotmail on my new ipad, I only see inbox where I retrieve my messages but cannot see the word  ''New'' which would
allow me to send emails the way it would be on a desk pc. So I can retrieve my messages but cannot send ???
Thank you in advance for help.

The icon in the upper right of the screen (assuming you are using the Mail app) that looks like a square with a pen is the new message button. Tap that to create a new mail message.

  • Can receive text msgs but cannot send!?!?

A few days ago I began to be unable to send text msgs. Using iPhone 3G, it appears that the 'send' button is dithered 'greyed' out. I tap it but nothing happens. I can email, and obviously type text online (as here) but cannot 'send' text. I deleted MSG history, cleared cache, cleared recent calls, cleared email history to no avail. I can receive text just dandy but cannot send. Can anyone shed some light here or do I go see the 'geniuses' at the store and get a new phone. ( it seems every time I have a phone problem like this, they can't fix it they just give me another phone) Would really like to not have to go to the store. Thanks in advance for anyones help!

I would try a few basic things before scheduling an appointment with the Genius Bar.
    1) Sync your iPhone with your computer. I have noticed that sometimes my phone will have a hiccup and when I sync it, whatever was wrong automatically rights itself.
    2) Reset your iPhone holding down the "home" button and the Sleep/Power button on the top right side of the phone at the same time. It takes about 5-15 seconds and you want to make sure you hold down both buttons until you see the apple logo, ignore the slider.
    3) Plug your iPhone into the computer and perform a phone restore. There are 2 options for this:
a- If you know when this problem started with your SMS messaging you can restore from a backup that was done on a previous sync. Chose a date prior to this issue starting and restore your phone to how it was on that date.
b- If you don't know when this issue began or restoring it to an earlier date does not fix the problem you can restore it to how it was when it came out of the box.
I hope that one of these things is able to solve your problem with SMS messaging. If none of these fixes the problem you should schedule an appointment with the Genius Bar and get this resolved with them. If you visit the Genius Bar make sure to sync your iPhone just prior to your appointment so if they need to replace the iPhone you don't lose any calendar entries, recently added contacts, pictures, etc.
    Good luck!

  • I added a contact but cannot send message to that person

Good morning,  My daughter added my son (he has a new i-pod) to her contacts but cannot send him an instant message.  She is able to send messages to her friends etc.
Also I have noticed she cannot get any of her hotmail emails to her ipod either.

When you send a Message you have to have the Subject line filled in, If not the Send button is inactive.
You said " my son can message my daughter but she can't message him back."
Do you mean she can't reply successfully to the his Message?

  • 837 - can receive e-mail but cannot send.

    Hi guys,
I've just installed a 837 at restaurant. The client checks his e-mail via outlook. He can receive e-mail but gets errors when trying to send. Any ideas. Everything else works great.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Guys,
The guru in our office that configured this router
says that he cannot figure out why we cannot send e-mail via outlook. I put the old router and cable modem back in at the site and we could send and receive e-mail via outlook fine. ( PPOE setup )
Put the Cisco back in and no luck.
This is the config file. If anybody can point me in the right direction to make the change I will try it at the site. We are using port 4 (10.100.100.1)to connect to a linksys for public internet access. He is behind the 192.168.100.xxx subnet.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Connects to router but cannot send or receive data

I have a WRT54G.  I can find the network and connect to the router, but I cannot send or receive any data.  I tried plugging directly into the router and I am still unable to send or receive any data. Both computers on the router has the same problem.  I did a reset of the router back to default settings and still no luck.  Any thoughts?  Thanks in advance for the help.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

First thing which you can try is, when you Modem and Router is connected to each other, Unplug the Power from Router and Modem , wait for 30 seconds then plug the Power to the Modem and once all the lights are solid then plug the power to the Linksys Router, now check if you are able to go Online. If still not then ....
Who is your ISP. So i think you need to Re-configure all the settings on your router back again.

  • Federated user can log into mailbox, but cannot send email

Hello. Of several dozen federated users with mailboxes in Exchange Online, I have one user who suddenly cannot send mail from his own mailbox, always receiving a, "you do not have the required permission to send from this mailbox." He used to be
able to send, and I've reviewed and compared his mailbox properties and mailbox permissions with other federated users, and I can find nothing to explain these errors. The "NT Authority\Self" identity is listed in the Send-As permission, just as
it is on every other user's mailbox. I even tried explicitly adding the user's account to the Send-As permissions, which made no difference, so I removed it again.
As I said, the user can successfully log into his mailbox and can read his mail, but all attempts to send anything out fail with the same error. Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Mike

Turns out the problem was caused by two things:
    1) the user has a K2 (kiosk) license
    2) in Settings, the user checked the box to "always show the From field"
Apparently, despite the fact that this user had access to no mailboxes other than his own, when you turn on the From field, Exchange apparently does some sort of check for Send on Behalf of rights whenever the user hits Send, even on his own mailbox, and
the Kiosk license excludes the ability to Send on Behalf Of any mailbox.
The bottom line is that, unchecking the "always show From field" checkbox resolved the issue and allowed the user to again send mail.
I'm a bit annoyed by this. If the Kiosk licenses limits a feature like this, then it should remove or deactivate the GUI element, to prevent it from causing this sort of error from occurring.

  • Cannot send pictures through imessage with new iphone 5s?

Since I upgraded from the Iphone4s to the Iphone5s I have not been able to send pictures through imessage? Anyone experiencing the same problem or know how i can fix this? I looked under messages in settings and made sure everything was turned on.

I had this issue and resolved it with a hard reset.  Holding sleep button and home button at same time until phone reboots.

  • Can receive IMAP mail but cannot send

I have set up my webmail as per the instructions given me, but I can only receive mail, I can't send from AppleMail. Any ideas about what I'm doing wrong?

    Welcome to Apple Discussions, lilwonton77.
Unfortunately, you don't provide enough information. What's your webmail? Have you made sure to set up the correct server-port? Maybe you have to check that smtp uses SSL... Just to name a few. For example, if you're using GMail, make sure to use the settings described by Google [here|http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=78799&topic=12814].
To set up an outgoing server go to Apple Mail's Preferences > Accounts, select your account, click on the tab "Account Information" and select "Customize Server List" from the drop-down menu in the section SMTP-Server.
    Hope that gets you started.
