I can find gunzip utility in solaris 2.6

Hi,
when i issue find . -name gunzip -print command in my solaris 2.6. I cant find it.
how can i add gunzip back to my platform?

2 things,
1. Your find command will find what you're looking for if what
you're looking for is under your present directory. That's what
the . is indication. The search your entire system, replace the
. with a / which will tell find to start from the root directory
and work down. The only problem with that is, if you have mounted
drives, find will try to search them (this isn't always
desirable), and if you are using find as a user you will see a
large number of permission denied messages.
2. If you are using /bin/ksh for your shell, another way to find
a command (assuming it's in your path) is to use the 'whence'
command. Here's an example:
ksh> whence gunzip
/usr/bin/gunzip
ksh>
If your system doesn't have gzip or gunzip, go to the gnu web page
www.gnu.org

I'm sure this is a total newbie problem, but I can't find gunzip for Solaris 7 intel. I've searched my hard drive, and I can't find it. I've even installed the entire distribution. What am I doing wrong?

Download gzip from www.sunfreeware.com and install.

Click the Time Machine icon in the menu bar. The time of the last backup is shown in the drop down.

Is there to find an FTP utility for solaris 8?

Prefered without root permissions.

Not sure if this is what you are looking for. Root under Solaris 8 does not have permission unless you edit /etc/ftpusers. As far as an FTP utility under Solaris, it already exists and is executed with ftp <I.P address>

Unable to find make utility

hi everybody,
i'm trying to install a Oracle 8.1.7 Release3 Db server on Solaris 8. I've already done all necessary settings (/etc/system and so on).
the problem is that during installation i get this message:
"Unable to find make utility in location: /usr/css/bin/make"
i try to check this location and i can see "usr" belongs to root. i see "usr" and i see "css" in it, but i can't get in "css"! not with root either...
any hint about this message???

the problem was i had an installation of Solaris 8i "End user distribution" instead of "Entire Distribution" so that some executable files (like make) were missed.
but now i have another problem: during installation i get this error:
error writing to /opt/oracle/product/8.1.7/Apache/jdk/bin
java wrapper
i've checked the permission and they are ok, then i don't understand why a normal installation gives an error trying to write on an existing path a file taken from the installation cd!
i'm performing a standard installation and it's a standard and stable Orace 8.1.7.

Where's Encore? I've already watched all the tutorials I can find to no avail.

The information from Dav's tutorials (an Adobe guy) make it sound so simple, as do the other tutorials I can find on YouTube (because the Adobe TV site does not address the issue). But do I really have to download the WHOLE Premiere Pro CS6 simply to gain access to Encore, only to have to delete the Premiere CS6 files from my computer, just so I can use it with CC?? What kind of sense is that?
Why can't I just download Encore and be done with it? I'll tell you why: because Encore cannot be found anywhere in the list of available Apps, or here on the CC website, at least not that I can see, and I've spent the last hour searching for it and have made absolutely no progress. I'm supposed to deliver seven projects on DVD tomorrow for a client, so this is a REAL problem, the kind of problem that makes me long for the days when you could pick up the phone and call someone (there are no contact numbers on this website) or drop a note to support (there is no e-mail address for support on this site either). Of course in this day and age, if there was a live chat option, it would probably not be included in my membership and I would incur additional charges for opening a support ticket. Excuse me for being cynical.
Another beef: I subscribe to CC, but the school I attend runs CS6. I can open a CS6 project in CC, but if I work at home, I can't access the changes I've made in CC because they won't open in CS6.
So, if I have to download CS6 in order to get Encore, I feel I should delete CC and work in CS6 just for compatibility. The problem with that is that I'll lose access to the couple of dozen projects I've completed for clients in CC already, plus the others that I'm currently working on.
Please, someone provide me a fix.

Bro Dan CC Encore CS6 was only included and installed with Premiere Pro CS6. There is no separate installation. You can find more details at Encore CS6 not installed with Creative Cloud - http://helpx.adobe.com/encore/kb/encore-cs6-installed-cc.html.

Good question. It appears to have been installed with Solaris 11/06, as I have all of the packages listed here:

However, it does not appear in the Java Web Console. I tried adding it using the wcadmin command, but haven't managed to get it to run as per the docs. The documentation assumes that it is already installed and visible in the Java Web Console...

An application for the Java Web Console should have a WEB-INF directory and an app.xml file. The apoc packages come with neither, so something is missing.

I need transfer a xml file to oracle use Java. I find a Java program can do it, but the java progran need a class(oracle.xml.sql.dml.*) and I don't find it.

Select [Software] from the tab on the top
and download OracleXML SQL Utility.
If you're using Oracle8.1.5, download version
111. If using Oracle8.1.6, download XSU12.
Unzip the archive file.
Under the lib directory, there should be
a jar file. This jar file contains the class

You do not need to unzip this file. Just set

If they are jar files that wont ever change, you can put them in your ThirdParty folder and use the upload jar utility. If that doesn't work, you will need to add them to your oim server startup parameters so it knows about the jar.

Is there a similar 'setkeycodes' utility in Solaris?

I'm currently working on using an LK461-A2 keyboard for Solaris on x86. There are 6 keys not working. I was able to get them working on Linux by using the setkeycodes utility to map the scan code to an appropriate key code.
