I can jump from 5.5 to 7.0?

I currently have Captivate 5.5 and want to upgrade to 7.0
Do I  need to go 5.5 -> 6.0 -> 7.0 or can I jump from 5.5 to 7.0?

I think it's closer to the truth to think of the Subscription model not as 'purchasing' a Captivate license, but more like you're 'renting the right to use' the current version of Captivate.
It's the same difference as buying a house compared to renting the same house.  Once you own something, nobody can take it away from you (legally).  However, if all you're doing is renting that house or car or whatever, then as soon as you stop paying the rent, you lose the right to keep using it.
If you enter the subscription program, you can only continue to use the software if your subscription is paid up.  It's a smaller up front cost than purchasing the boxed edition, but it ends with your last payment.
Functionality-wise, I've not seen any indication that the subscription Cp7 is any different to the boxed-license Cp7.  However, subscribers will likely get more frequent bugfixes and updates (as Cp6.0 users were horrified to find out when Cp6.1 arrived).

  • Hey guys, Just want to know if i can jump from osx 10.5.8 straight to 10.6.4? Is there an update in between ? All i see available to purchase from apple is osx 10.6 (there is no third number)

Hey guys, Just want to know if i can jump from osx 10.5.8 straight to 10.6.4? Is there an update in between ? All i see available to purchase from apple is osx 10.6 (there is no third number) but yet i saw a guy online selling snow leopard 10.6.3 so it left me wondering if i would need to purchase two upgrades as oppose to one!
    Cheers

Updates from 10.x.0 to 10.x.last are traditionally free, and are available via Software Update.
The version upgrades from 10.x to 10.y will traditionally cost you some money.
Make sure your Mac meets the requirements for 10.6 — if you're on PPC, you cannot upgrade to 10.6.  (For reference, here are the Lion 10.7 system requirements.  The 10.7 upgrade requires 10.6.6 or later, and can be purchased by calling Apple directly and acquiring a download code, if it doesn't show up in the Mac App Store for you automatically.  I don't think your hardware would be supported with 10.8, if you're presently running 10.5.)
In any case, you can purchase an official Apple Snow Leopard 10.6 DVD disk for US$20.
Back up your system before installing the new software.
Once you install 10.6, you'll run software update and the 10.6.8 combo update will be downloaded and installed for you.  That's free.  10.6.8 allows you to use your trackpad, as well as access the Mac App Store and some other tools; it's the most recent version of 10.6.

  • I need to translate a flash program with many pages to edge animate CC. Is there an easy way top build new pages, so that you can jump from one page to another withion the same file?

I have only seen in all the examples in books and on the net that edge animate works on one page only. Maybe I hve not fully understood the concept, but in flash it was easy. Perhaps there is also an easy way in edge animate?

You can either make a symbol for each page in the same composition or you can use edge commons composition loader to load several compositions into the same composition which serves as a container.

  • Jump from query

    HI Gurus,
I have to develope a query where i have to jump from BI query to ECC. In my report There are two fields one is account and another is account number. If i click on the document number i have to go to an ECC transaction diplaying data about that document and if i click on the account i have to go to another ECC transaction displaying data about account. I know that we can jump from BI query to transaction, but is it possible to jump from one query to 2 different transaction? if so how to do it?
    Regards,
    Raghavendra.

    Hi Raghavendra,
In the RSBBS t-code, give the sendor reprot name then click on create button.
Then select transaction and sourcesystem and then the T-code you need to enter.
Then after save the setting. goto Assignment details. Click on the field for which you need to assign that transcation.
Then create another one and select transaction .. provide the details as above and in assignment provide the details.
Ex: for G/l account you can assign the FS03n T-code on r/3.
for cost center you can assign the KS03 t-code on r/3.
    Hope it helps...

  • I'm scared.  Can you help?  I can't jump from here to there.

    Dear Apple MobileMe
I am very eager to make the move from MobileMe to iCloud, but...
As you can see from your own email, this is far from simple
My wife and I totally depend on my Macbook Pro (1), my old Powerbook that my wife uses (2), our iPhones (3 & 4), our iPad (5), my Time Machine, and my MobileMe (6), including Backups to our iDisk on MobileMe to keep our lives running.
iCal's synced across 6 Apple platforms
Address Books synced across 6 Apple platforms
Email synced across 6 Apple platforms (me using Mail and wife using AOL)
Bookmarks synced across 6 Apple platforms
Various apple ID's synced across 6 Apple platforms
    You get the picture
I would hate to mess this delicately balanced Apple computer ecosystem up at all.
iOS 10.7 requires that I upgrade a bunch of my key work apps and figure out a way to transfer a 10 year dependence on Quicken onto some other equally robust financial management platform that doesn't seem to exist.  Just to add insult to potential injury.
    I'm scared.
Wish this whole process could be 500% more automated.
We've been on Macs  and other Apple devices since 1987.  I can't keep track of all of my "Apple ID's" for this and that that you've asked me to set up for each device and for each service over the years.  Everything's registered with you.
    Devices
    MobileMe email aliases
    iTunes
    iDisk
    App Store
    AppleCare(s)
    MobileMe
    Apple.com support (here)
    Apple ProCare
    Apple iDisk Public folder
    etc.
    etc.
You should be able to gather all of my identities together into one place and figure out the best way to migrate me to the new Apple iCloud Garden of Eden.
You've got to find a way to help us work all this out.  It's more than intimidating.  We're frozen in fear.  We just can't jump from here to there.

iCloud is here Dear MobileMe member,
iCloud is here and you can now make the transition from MobileMe. You can move your
MobileMe mail, contacts, calendars, and bookmarks to iCloud, and keep your me.com and
mac.com email addresses. iCloud is a breakthrough set of free cloud services, including iTunes in the Cloud, Photo Stream
and Documents in the Cloud, that works seamlessly with your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac or
PC to store your content in iCloud and push it to all your devices. When content changes on one
device, all your other devices are updated automatically and wirelessly.
    Making the Move
Before moving to iCloud, make sure that your iOS devices and computers have the required
software and your data is properly backed up by following these steps:
    Get iTunes 10.5.
Download iTunes 10.5 to your Mac or PC.
Update your devices to iOS 5.
Update your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch to iOS 5 by connecting each
device to your Mac or PC and following the instructions in iTunes.
When you are asked to provide your Apple ID during iOS setup, use
your MobileMe email address and password.
Update your computers.Mac: Update to OS X Lion v10.7.2PC:   Update to Windows 7 or Windows Vista Service Pack 2 andinstall the iCloud Control Panel for Windows.
    Back up your MobileMe data.
For detailed instructions, review this article.
    Verify your contacts and bookmarks.
Verify that your contacts and bookmarks are completely up to date on
at least one device you will use with iCloud. They will be uploaded to
iCloud from your devices after you move. iCloud will not copy any
contacts or bookmarks directly from me.com.
When you are ready, go to me.com/move and follow the instructions to move your account to
    iCloud.
    Important Notes
If your me.com or mac.com email address is used with more than one Apple ID, you may be
unable to access some iCloud services. If this occurs, you can remove duplicate email
addresses from your other Apple IDs by visiting My Apple ID. You can also use different Apple IDs for iCloud and your Store purchases (including iTunes,
App Store and iBookstore). For more information and detailed instructions, review this article. You can make the move from MobileMe to iCloud anytime between now and June 30, 2012. For
answers to some of the most common questions about the transition, see the MobileMe
    transition FAQ. Sincerely,
    Apple
iCloud requires iOS 5 on iPhone 3GS or later, iPod touch (3rd and 4th generation), iPad, or iPad 2; a Mac computer
with OS X Lion; or a PC with Windows Vista or Windows 7 (Outlook 2007 or 2010 or an up-to-date browser is
required for accessing email, contacts and calendars). Some features require a Wi-Fi connection. Some features
are not available in all countries. Access to some services is limited to 10 devices. Previous purchases may be
unavailable if they are no longer in the iTunes Store, App Store, or iBookstore.

You are receiving this email from Apple to notify you of service information regarding your MobileMe account.

This is a user-to-user forum: you aren't talking to Apple here.
I do sympathize with your situation: you are among many for whom upgrading is impracticable, but who are dependent on MobileMe facilities which will be withdrawn next June.
As you say, you will need 10.7.2 to access iCloud on a Mac, and iOS5 for mobile devices.
I can't offer you any easy solutions, but this list may at least clarify the exact situation for you:
Your email, calendars, contacts and bookmarks, and 'Find my iPhone' will be migrated to iCloud.
Your iDisk, together with website hosting and Gallery. will continue to work as before until next June.
You will be able to access email, calendar and contacts on the iCloud website at http://icloud.com provided your browser is reasonably up-to-date.
You will not be able to sync contacts or bookmarks from a pre-Lion Mac.
You will be able to enter the server settings for email manually in the Mail application and access your email.
You will not be able to sync your calendars directly.
Some people have been able to set up calendar syncing by using the method detailed here - this is an unsupported hack and may not be reliable, and may stop working at some future point. BusyCal is an iCal-like calendar application with extra facilities: it can sync with the iCloud Calendar while running on Leopard, Snow Leopard or Lion.
There appears to be no method of syncing contacts (though Address Book on a Mac can be synced with Google or Yahoo address books - I don't know how reliable this is).

When you still have the problem after restoring to factory defaults/new iPod then you very likely have a hardware problem and an appointment a th Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Can i jump from 10.7.5 to 10.8.5

Any harm in jumping from 10.7.5 to 10.8.5? I never updated to mountain lion but need to to use a new software but I don't want to go beyond what CS4 can support.

    Yes, you can.
    Upgrading to Mountain Lion
To upgrade to Mountain Lion you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or Lion installed. Purchase a redemption code at the Online Apple Store: OS X Mountain Lion. Mountain Lion is $19.99 plus tax. Use the code to redeem a download of Mountain Lion from the App Store. The file is quite large, over 4 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.
OS X Mountain Lion - System Requirements
Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Mountain Lion

  • Why can't I set up my AirPort Extreme as a wireless jumper from my Cable internet router ?

Why can't I set up my AirPort Extreme as a wireless jumper from my Cable internet router ?

If it "joined" my network is it extending the coverage of my wifi network ?
Please review my previous answer in the post above......
But, the Express does not  "extend" or "repeat" the wireless signal when it joins a network.  In other words, wireless devices cannot connect to the AirPort Express the way that you have it set up.
If so can my Airport Extreme be set up to "join" my network and also extend the coverage of my network ?
Again, please review my previous answer in the first reply above......
The AirPort Extreme does not have this type of capability.
If you have both an AirPort Extreme and an AirPort Express.....my suggestion....again, found above in a previous post.....
It takes a minimum of two Apple routers to extend a signal using wireless.
You could do this by connecting the AirPort Extreme to your cable router using a permanently installed Ethernet cable and then configuring the AirPort Extreme to "create a wireless network".
Then add an AirPort Express in a location where it can pick up a strong wireless signal from the AirPort Extreme and configure the Express to "extend a wireless network".
You would not use the wireless on your cable router at all, unless you wanted to reserve that network for guests or something similar.

  • How can I jump from Safari window to Safari window?

    Hey all,
How does one jump from one Safari window to another? While Im at it, also from Tab to Tab?
On Window to Window in WinXP, I would use Command/Tab. However, in OSX, if I Command/Tab, then I get a different program list other then available, open Safari windows.
When in a single Safari window and have multiple tabs, to go from Tab to Tab, in Windows, you use Control/Tab. But in OSX, this does not work. I have tried variations to see if I could figure it out, but have been unsuccessful. Many thanks for any help and input.

Command + ` is a system-wide function to toggle between open windows within any running app. Works for everything.
In Safari 4 and 5, ShiftCommand (right or left) arrow moves tabs for me. I noticed that in Apple Discussions, should I have a "reply box" open, this copmmand will go to the that tab and stay there, highlighting text. Otherwise the combo wrks fine.

  • My iPad keeps jumping from page to page, can anyone help

How do I stop iPad jumping from page to page, happens what ever app I use.

Have you tried resetting your iPad?
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds).
    No data will be lost.
    Other things to try:
Remove screen protector (if any) and clean screen.

  • Jump from alv report to cor2 screen

    Hi experts,
I develop one alv report ..i want to jump from alv report to COR2 screen when click on order number(field name is AUFNR).
i wrote code in this way.
FORM USER_COMMAND USING UCOMM LIKE SY-UCOMM SELFIELD TYPE SLIS_SELFIELD
      CASE SELFIELD-FIELDNAME.
        WHEN 'AUFNR'.
          READ TABLE T_FINAL INDEX SELFIELD-TABINDEX.
SET PARAMETER ID  'AUF' FIELD T_FINAL-AUFNR.
CALL TRANSACTION 'COR2'   AND SKIP FIRST SCREEN.
      ENDCASE.
    ENDFORM.
but it is not working properly, when u click on any order number it is going only the same order number(in cor2 screen).
what is the problem? set par id (AUF) EXIST IN TPARA table compulsalory or it is created automatically?
pls help me in this . If possible pls send the code.

    Hi,
I have already mentioned both ways, but ok, once again.
    A. how I found parameter ID ANR:
    1.) run transaction COR2
2.) set cursor to field "Process order"
    3.) press F1 button
    4.) performance assistant displays
    5.) press "Technical Information"
    6.) technical information displays
7.) in field "Parameter ID" you can see parameter ID assigned to a screen field
    B. how I found parameter ID BR1:
    1.) switch on debugger
    2.) run transaction COR2
3.) put a breakpoint on "GET PARAMETER" statement
4.) debugger stops on every GET PARAMETER statement in PBO of COR2
5.) there you can see that BR1 is used for field AUFNR
Basically first mentioned way is sufficient, because system gets parameter value from parameter ID assigned to a screen element automatically. But in this case a value is overwritten by coding in PBO of COR2.
    Hope it helps.

    Adrian

  • Asking for login details jumping from BW  to SS report at Portal site

    Hi Guys
Our BW reports are avilable from protal for user's.
Now the issue we are facing is when we jump from BW report to source system(SRM) report, it is aksing for login details for source system. where as at portal site it should not ask for login deatils. And we are facing this issue only in QA system and not PRD system.
M not sure where things are going wrong. I have checked SSO. nothing seems to be wrong here also.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Rohini

    Hi Rohini,
I may not be correct. But does the user id which you are using (both in QA & Prod) have same settings for User-Type (<i>SU01 -> Logon Data -> User Type</i>). ?
Also u can check the RFC Settings (SM59).
    Hope it would help..

  • What customers can expect from BT customer support...

(In reply to the email at the bottom of this post. I am happy to discuss this with other members but please familarise yourself with the post first. I know its a long one, but I tried to make it as detailed as possible)
    Hi Samia,
I don't want to give the impression that I like complaining, so I'll keep this factual until the end:
I signed up for infitiy 2 package with phone line in the first week of July. After purchasing the product online I called to arrange an engineer to visit who would install the product. During this time I asked about the £50 Sainsburys voucher promised at the time of signing up and was assured that they would arrive automatically within several weeks after my product was activated. The broadband went live during the 2nd week of July. One of my parents in a seperate address went through an identical (please understand the meaning of identical) process in all regards and after 4 weeks had not received the £100 Sainsburys voucher promised to her. So I started to contact the customer support team.
I was told by Ravi Prassad on the live chat support that the vouchers would arrive within 5 days  for both addresses on Wednesday 9th October - 8 Days ago. There is a full log of this chat included after this email, people can jump to it by searching for reference "Appendix.1".
I was unhappy with his manner during the chat log, it was lackluster, using words like "okay" and "yeah" to answer qualitative questions I posed to him. So I contacted both phone support and the online live chat support again. I was speaking to Harold from accounts on the phone and Mudassir Ali on the live chat. After requesting it, both of them assured me that a manager would contact me, specifically by phone, with my mobile telephone number provided at the time. The time frame was to expect the telephone call from a manager within 24 hours. I did not receive a phone call of any nature on Thursday 10th October. The chat log with Mudassir is also available below entitled "Appendix.2".
On the morning of Friday 11th October I contacted the phone support, this time getting through to a male customer service agent by first name Kin, he had an american accent. Kin apologised for the unprofessional service that I had been given and assured he would rectify the problem. He himself was professional in his conduct and convincing with his words. His exact words were that he had sent an email off to the "corporate office" requesting that I be telephoned that same day as a priority, in light of what had happened during the previous 24 hours. I did not receive a phone call of any nature on Friday 11th October.
On the morning of Saturday 12th October I contacted the support team again by phone and eventually got through to Niscive. He and another colleague tried to further assure me by raising what they referred to as an "Enquiry Confirmation Number" ticket (******-******) and I was once again advised that I would receive a phone call on either Monday or Tuesday.
After this I left it until 6pm on the night of Tuesday 15th October before contacting support again. I got through to a CSA agent who told me over the phone that it was his 2nd day answering calls. I was put on hold often however had told him not to worry about doing so, I simply wanted the issue sorted. After confiding in his colleague several times he assured me me that the vouchers would arrive in 2 days, on Thursday (today, 17th October). He repeated this statement several times before saying that he would personally sort it out if there were any further problems. I then re-raised the question of why management had not contacted me. It took several attempts to get this question through his limited teaching and it was a frustrating experience. In the end he advised me that I could expect a phone call from management with an explanation for the events that has happened. He said the managers name was "John" and I was to expect a phone call within 30 minutes. I received no phone call of any nature on Tuesday 15th October.
I was getting pretty tired at this point, I had spent an estimated 6 hours on the phone to BT trying to solve both problems (lack of vouchers and unsatisfactory customer service) so I decided to wait until today (17th october) to see if the vouchers arrived. Unsurprisingly they did not arrive with this morning's post. Then at 11:30am I receive this email from yourself (at the bottom of this post) explaining that I have to wait a further 3 weeks (15 working days) and you attempt to give me permission to re-open the enquiry after 14 days if unsatisfied, but your wording suggested I was unable to do such a thing before hand. Well this email will be getting posted, in full, on your public forums, as well as printed off and sent to BT head office and Sainsburys (BT are tarnishing their image). I might even pop in to Belfast in person to visit the BT-tower on the Laganside with a copy to hand in in person. I will of course blank any of my own sensitive information when posting this on the forum.
During the various phone calls I experimented with different options. There is set of options on the phone to go through to a complaint line. When selecting these options you get warned by a pre-recorded voice before being notified about being placed in a queue the following; "We are very busy at the moment and it may take considerable time before we can answer your call" as opposed the message you receive on the accounts holding loop "We are very busy at the moment and apologise for the delay, your call will be answered as soon as possible". It is also worth mentioning that there is never a wait on the sales team line at all.
Time for an opinion because this service is nothing short of a joke, and completely sub-standard in compairison to my previous ISP, Virgin who always took their customers very seriously and treated them with respect. BT seem to treat theirs as if they already own the person's credit card and pin code and there is nothing the person can do. Direct debits are not so hard to cancel, so it is within BT's monetary interest at this stage to ensure I don't have wait any longer than 5 working days for the vouchers to arrive. If your system is too slow to process things that quickly perhaps one of the amazingly lazy managers can get off his/her backside and personally purchase and post out the promised voucher to this disgruntled customer.
    Appendix.1

All of my personal details were omitted from the original post when the moderator >heavily< edited it removing all of the proving information of what has probably been my 2nd worst customer service experience with a company so far. All of this 5-6 working days stuff is utterly useless too. I want the vouchers sent out as promised by your own customer care team SEVERAL freaking times. I'm going to go off and see if I can find more public methods of name-and-shame because BT and the majority of its employees are completely unwilling to be accountable for their actions.
Oh and the very fact that a moderator has had time to come in and EDIT my original post but not provide support on it, is another joke to add to the book of "BT GOT YOUR MONEY FOOL HAHA".
    Just look at these links:

  • The Jump from Snow Leopard to free Mavericks OS broke my iPhoto..

I updated my macbook pro today. I jumped straight from Snow Leopard to Mavericks. It was just like installing a really big app from the app store. However, it left iPhoto in the weeds of incompatibility. It was the latest version supported by Snow leopard and compatibilty instructions from Apple said I my computer met the requirements for the updated OS. Now my iPhoto has a big white circle with a line through it indicating that this version of iPhoto is not supported on the new OS. I cannot even view my pictures folder since it is in this broken iPhoto folder. Talked to Apple iPhoto specialist and he was super cool and checked with superviser but came to the conclusion that there is no conclusion at this moment. Day 1 downloaders should always consider this risk. I was just excited after seeing todays keynote and went for it on the macbook pro. This is what we both concluded..
The suite of apps in iLife and iWork were usually purchased via physical disk or preinstalled when purchasing a Mac a couple years ago. So there is no update for these in the app store (the new way of obtaining and updating software). This was a bit of an oversight in todays launch of new products. I was instructed to wait a few days and see if there is a "patch" for this error of compatibility. I can be patient and wait for this, but if there is no patch... Then I am in a great deal of trouble with my Wife! Lol seriously, she had a bunch of our wedding, honeymoon, and newborn daughter pics on this laptop and I foolishly updated without backing up. To my credit, I did my homework and learned that it "should" leave all my content as is. It is like the IOS updates that just overlay the software and replace only os stuff. This was true. Everything is exactly where it was before, only I cannot access the pictures, open iPhoto, update iMovie (it prompts that there is an update, but takes you to the app store updates page and it is not there). Basically at this point, I have to re-buy iLife and iWork because my versions are too old for the operating system released today. This would be fine if I was informed that my paid apps would need to be re-bought, but Apple stated that my device was compatible and this would be a simple update much like any other app. I also have extended apple care protection for our products, but the apple support guy said that store support will not have a fix at this time either. I suggested to take note of this particular issue because anyone who jumps from Snow Leopard to Mavericks may likely face this issue. I suggested that they offer a patch for the mistake or offer a free iphoto download (or other native app that broke in the process).
Other than my iLife and iWork apps not making a clean jump to the new OS, I really like the features and fluidity of the system. Apple makes high-quality products and innovates. I am not upset at all. Just a bit frightened because if I lost these photos and videos, you are reading a dead mans words.
Any thoughts or suggestions are much appreciated.

The same thing happened to me, since I have iPhoto 9.2.3
There is some kind of "direct access" to your original photos:
    /Users/[your user name here]/Pictures/iPhoto Library/Masters
All pictures should be saved there, organized by year...
iPhoto will still not work but at least you can recover your photos.
