I can no longer use my work email from home, after downloading this new version of Firefox. Can I go back to version 3.5?

I am prompted for my username and password and I can get into my email account, but no information is given. I get an error message but I don't remember what it says. It suggests going to view then refresh to try again but that doesn't work.

That'd be a first step. Or even the Model number
which should be visible on the outer case by hinge.

I do not recommend bookmarking any financial web sites. Manually type the address carefully is the best security practice. Never store passwords on your system unless they are encrypted with a strong password. Or you are telling the "bad guys" way too much if your system becomes compromised.

Can't send email from home

I have a serious problem. My wife has a Mac Book Pro for work and she can send email at any location except from home. The error she is getting is
Cannot send message using the server smtp.knology.net:(username)
The server "smtp.knology.net" refuses to allow a connection on the default ports. Select a different outgoing mail server from the list below or click try later to leave the message in your outbox until it can be sent.
I have BellSouth/AT&T DSL with a Westel Versalink 327W modem. The funny thing is our local library also has BellSouth DSL and she can send email from there. Like I said, the only place she can't send email is from our house.

It is the BS/ATT system you are on. BS/ATT does not allow sending email to another domain from a Residential account. I had the same problem with my work email from home. All sent mail on port 25, I think it is, from a ATT Residential account must go through the ATT servers and or ATT/Yahoo.
Have your wife check with the mail provider for an alternate sending port. My work mail servers used port 26 for POP and some other port for IMAP.
EDIT:
Right the Library has a Business Account. No restrictions on the Business ATT DSL.

I just tried downloading 4, replaced 3.6 with this new version that is not supported on my system. I'm using a Mac 10.4.11. I have lost the previous version that I was using. How can I get it back?

How do I change the email address to a new one that I can access?

If you remeber the password to that Apple ID then follow these steps
1 - Make sure you have an email address that is NOT an Apple ID
2 - Go to AppleID.Apple.com
3 - Where it reads Manage Apple ID - Sign in
Once you are signed in want to make sure the email address you are wanting to use is NOT set up as a "Recovery/Rescue" email for this account.
[To check this - Main page where you see Primary ID - below do you see the email address you want to use listed towards the bottom? Yes - Delete / No - Good ./. If made any adjustments "Save" Next on the left select "Password & Security" - Answer your security questions you set up "if you have any" then scroll towards the bottom and check to see if you see the email address you want to use. Yes - Delete / No - Good] <-> Also you can change your password on this page as well. Any adjustments made "Save"
Once this is done go back to the main page where you should read "Primary ID" and change the email address that is showing to the new email address youo want. "Save" Done

HI, I don't understand - Seemingly I can't have an any type of PRIMARY Apple ID that has an apple ext. Instead I have to use a work email or even worse a google, android, MS email for my primary address to work - What is the point in directing customers to competitors? I already tried Apple direct but I didn't seem to get a conclusive answer to my question.
Also why can't you password protect the email app on the ipad or iphone? Its really frustrating that my email is availble for anyone to see once the screen password is bypassed. And yet my laptop (which I only use ironically) continually asks for my password once I have closed down.

You cannot delete an Apple ID, you can only choose not to use it. Also, your @me.com address is associated with this ID and cannot be moved to another ID or be used to create a new ID.
All you could do is create a new ID using a different email address with your name in it. If you do you will have an associated @icloud.com email address.

I reset the password. As you instructed, but that was not enough to solve the problem.
To solve the problem I also did the following:
For my user name I included @me.com., but I'm not sure that made any difference.
I think the key to solving this was that I pushed past the error I got on the Outgoing Mail Server window. I wasn't sure I should do that but I was desperate:
Next I got this window and checked SSL.
That was it!
Finally I went into account preferences and checked the outgoing mail server settings to be sure the server port was correct. It was.

I believe they discontinued all mobile.me accounts yesterday. It's been in the planning for a long time with lots of notification. I believe you can still get access to the e-mail from Tiger but you'd need to browse past discussions on this forum for details on how.
