I can't access a sign-in page for Yahoo or Hotmail

I have tried all the trouble shooting tips, but nothing seems to work. I am able to use Google and "Gmail" but when I request to sign in to either Yahoo or Hotmail, the system just freezes up. I am able to pull up News and other Yahoo sites, but it simply won't go to either "mail" or to a "sign-in" page.
I have another laptop (non Apple) working off of the same WiFi/Ethernet connection and it is accessing the sites and mail with out any problem.
This is a new system for me, and I just hooked it up last week, but have not been able to access my Yahoo Mail, or Hotmail. I reloaded Snow Leopard (because I had to change some passwords) then loaded the OS Lion program (hoped that would make a difference...it didn't)
One of the tips is to contact the owner of the website to make sure the address is correct...Yahoo does not provide any assistance in that regard.

Thanks for the suggestion. It made sense to me (my salesman mentioned that he used FireFox as his browser) So I went ahead and down-loaded it.   Unfortunately the problem is also on Firefox. I can pull up the web pages that I am looking for, but I can not pull up the "sign-on" pages.
It is beginning to sound like a security type issue to me. The "Connection Time Out" page gives 3 choices:
* This site coule be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.
                       ***I don't think this is the issue, because my laptop is pulling up the pages just fine****
* If you are unable to load any pages, check your computers network connection.
                       ***I am able to pull up some pages, and my laptop works off of the same network***
* If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy,make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.
                         ***This sounds like the most likely issue, but I do not know how to check or adjust the
                             firewall/ proxy.
I do not know if the issue has anything to do with my living in another country. I purchased my IMac during my last visit to the U.S. and brought it back to Panama with me. Does the IMac need special instructions for international network providers?

I have tried typing in the direct URL and it tells me no internet activity can be detected, page not available. I have used multiple URL's I found listed on another board and none get me there.

On Comcast.net go to your account / services / xfinity internet, there is a link to manage devices for xfinity wifi
Your device only needs to sign in once to xfinitywifi, then it automatically logons on from there on. Look at that manage devices page and see if your equipment is listed. You might want to clean up devices that are not familar, or even delete everything and start over. Then see if you can connect to a xfinitywif hotspot.
There is no url to go to, it either connects automatically, or a sign in page will pop up only the first time with that device.

It's highly unlikely that the Pages update problem has anything to do with the ARD client update, since the client is not involved in any way with Software Update. I'd suggest asking for assistance with the update problem in the forum appropriate for your version of Mac OS X.

I was wondering if ADDT could be used to create a blank sign in page for a website beta for clients to sign in without the rest of the world seeing it...

That should be fairly easy to do using ADDT's User Login Server Behaviors. You can configure the Login Settings at the ADDT Control Panel. There are a lot of options and I use these behaviors often.
Günter has a nice tutorial called "Login tables:

So you would create a page with the user login and that would redirect your user to the website beta file/folder on a successful login.
You would also use the "Restrict Access To Page" ADDT User Login Server Behavior. This will make sure others can't get to your pages by typing in the URL directy into the browser. The only drawback here is that all your pages would need to be .php and not .html
Another option is to use your web hosting control panel to restrict access to a folder on your site that contains your website beta. This would be the easiest because you would not have to add code to all the pages to restrict access. Your server would require a username and password when someone goes to that address(example: www.mysite.com/websitebeta).
Unfortunately, the ability to do this depends on your hosting package, so you would need to check that in your hosting control panel. The drawback here might be that you would have to give everyone the same username and password to use. Otherwise you have to add lots of users to your server hosting directy and that might be an issue.
If you use ADDT's user login behaviors, you can gather lots of information about the users activity in your user login stats table. Also, if your website is going to have user accounts anyways, this would be the way to go.
If you just want a simple login to showoff a website, I would give everyone the same user/pass and try to restrict access to a folder using your hosting's control panel. That would much simpler for this scenario.

Snow Leopard must be at least version 10.6.6 to access the Mac app store. Use Apple menu > About this Mac to determine the version you have installed. Use Software Update to update the OS, if necessary.

If you are unable to remember your password, security questions, don’t have access to your rescue address or are unable to reset your password for whatever reason, your only option is to contact AppleCare(or Apple ID Support), upon speaking to an operator you should explain that your problem is related to your Apple ID, this way you will not be charged for assistance, even if you don’t have an AppleCare plan.

If u have a common Error JSP named as ErrorPage.jsp
You need to have the following piece of code in the JSP as :
<%@ page isErrorPage ="true"%>
This makes it as the Common Error Page for the Application. Now all you need to do is from other JSP's throw the Exception to teh container. The container will redirect to this Page and process accordingly.

The only choices you have in the iPad itself are to change the keyboard or change the user interface language. If that doesn't do what you want, probably best ask the people who make Papers.

I think there is a contradiction in your requirements. You want two people to share an account and you don't want either to interfere with the other.
The short and simple answer is to use IMAP to connect to the mail server. If your current email provider doesn't offer IMAP, find another that does. This is old technology already and it's disgraceful that some email providers haven't yet put it in place.
IMAP means that your messages are stored on the server and both of you will see exactly the same set of messages. And therein lies the contradiction; you will both see changes made by the other so you are inherently interfering with one another.
Caveats: some providers may not permit you both to access the account concurrently, and even if they do, things may become interesting if you both choose to work on the same message simultaneously.
Note that all of this is about email servers and protocols; your choice of Thunderbird as your email client has little bearing on the situation.

FINALLY, I'VE FOUND AN ANSWER TO PASSWORDING A PAGE OR SECTION WITH ADOBE MUSE WITH GREAT SIMPLICITY AND ALLOWING YOU TO 'DESIGN' THE PASSWORD BOX INTO YOUR PAGE!!!
Even better is that you don't HAVE to have username AND password (although you could if you wanted to), so just a simple PASSWORD box and enter button DESIGNED BY YOU WITHIN YOUR PAGE, rather than nasty popups etc. Importantly, the password itself is NOT within the source code of your page either!!
The solution is at Jotform.com. I believe you can do this with a FREE ACCOUNT, although it's SUCH a great service for Musers that I paid for a proper account.
Before you do this, create a page on your site saying "Wrong Password. Please go away" or something to that effect. You'll need it for when they enter the wrong password.
So, in Jotform, you just create a new form and:
1. Drag on a password box (it's in the power tools section)
2. Select it and go to Conditions
3. Go to Change Thank You URL after submission
4. Enter: If [name of your password box] field EQUALS TO [enter your password]
5. In the "Then redirect to" box, enter the URL of your protected page and click save
6. In the resulting box click "ADD A NEW CONDITION" and do the SAME as stets 3 to 5 but this time say NOT EQUALS TO" with your same password and in the "Then redirect to" box, enter the URL of your WRONG PASSWORD page and click save
7. Embed the button on your page and you're done!!!
If you want to mess about with the EXACT alignment of a right aligned button and text box, you can go to Preferences and in the box which allows you to add your own custom CSS, enter the following code and mess about with the values until it's perfect for you:

HT3867 I'm in a hotel; I successfully got their WiFi signal; now I click on Safari so I can access the sign up page; it doesn't work on my iPad; it doesn't work on my iPhone; it does work on my MacBook Pro!! FRUSTRATING. help.

This happens too often and ususally it fixes itself by a fluke. Today it isn't.
I need to access the hotel's sign in page and two of my three devises won't open the page.
Works fine on day and not the next.
The signal is strong, but Safari won't open the page I need to put the password in. Any work arounds anybody?

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
