I can't charge my Zen V or switch it

I can't charge my Zen V player as computer doesn't seem to recognise my player as it'sdid a couple of hours ago, now I can't even turn it on. I have tried to update firmware but already have the most recent version and have also tried the recovery option but its impossible, please help, its not that old, do I need a new battery or what

Have you tried to recharge the player for more than four hours? Then Try a reset and if that isn't enough, go to the Recovery Tool on the Support/downloads page. Follow through and reload the firmware. Sometimes that will fix a player that isn't working correctly even if it is the same version that is currently on your Zen V.
Just be sure your player is fully charged before trying to relaod the firmware.

    I hope to calm you down with this small help... Try to connect your Vision: M on the "Removable Disk" Mode. Simply partition your player (52 MB is the minimum) and then connect your player. It should appear as a USB Mass Storage device. And by the way, you don't need to have a Genuine Windows to have SP2. It's available for download vis Windows/Microsoft Update. All you need is a SP2 key that you can some sort of changing by doing some sort of illegal stuff (if you get it)...

  • Can't Turn Off Zen Micro with V2 Firmware

    I just decided to upgrade my firmware to V2 for the hell of it. The new firmware seems odd at best, but I just don't feel like going back to V. One thing that really annoys me is that I can't charge the Zen to full anymore. It always seems to be stuck at 2 bars max. And those 2 bars seem to run out in less time too. I think its because the player is actually running in Docked mode for as long as the thing is charging. I'd like to know how to charge it using USB without having to have it go to Dock mode, as in not have Windows constantly keep an open connection to it.

    Turn off all of the WMP and Creative explorer services. I don't have these set to autorun, or auto start.
    So when I hook up a player, as?long as I dont have any of it's services running or folders open, it will just charge and not be docked.

    Can't turn on Zen MX I bought my Zen MX about a week ago from UK and didn't use it's still know. Today I tried to transfer some media files from my PC to Zen. While surfing in the Creative's web site I found that there is a firm ware that I have to install. Then I download it's to my PC and instal. After installing my Zen turned off by itself and didn't turn on again. Just a black screen. I tried to push reset and turn on button several times together and separetly but it didn't work. Then I leave it connected to PC by USB to charge for 5 hours but know still I can not turn it on.
    I searched from web sites a lot and I found that recovery tool may be usefull. But to use it I have to turn on it's first!! Also PC isn't recognasing it!!

    Thanks for your reply. The only answers I 've gotten from "customer service" are canned responses that are downright insulting in their repeated explanations of the obvious.
    This was my second Zen. Basically, the upgrade from the company mysteriously coincided exactly with my MP3 player's demise. I give up.
    I've removed the software from my computer, thrown away the player and am off to the Apple store.
    I really tried hard to be a customer. There has been no satisfaction for me.

    Creative could save its Help Desk/Support people and their consumers <i>endless</i> amounts of aggravation if they simply included a Mains wall charger with every player.
    How much does a charger cost at the factory level when you make thousands upon thousands of units?
    As it stands now this policy forces people, many of them not very handy with computers [and by the sounds of reading this forum, not everyone in the world is running XP with Service Pack 2 and has all their computer's ducks in a row...] to troubleshoot their USB ports, hack their Registry, delete and re-install firmware and software.
    A lot of that is completely over the heads of people who merely want to listen to their favourite music and simply charge their shiny new Zen DAP.
    How many people give up when they can't get their Zen recognized and return it to the store, never to buy Creative again?
    One it too many when the solution is so simple and inexpensi've.

    When you mention 'load' are you referring to the Zen being charged because the USB is plugged in ? If so, there is nothing much you can do. Of course if you have a SD card reader, you can load the songs to the SD card and thus you do not need to plug in your ZEN to the PC when you do that.

    iTunes gift cards can only be used in the store in the country in which they are bought - so if you bought a German iTunes gift card then you will need a German iTunes account. If you haven't got a German iTunes account then do you know anybody with one who could give/sell it to ?

    I am interested in a Creative Zen, as I've heard nothing but great things.
    Is there a chart somewhere, that compares all the Zens out there, so I know I am choosing the right one for me? I know that newest isn't always best, and the best one isn't necessarily the best one for me....
    I want one for songs, songs, and more songs. Not at all for pictures - I've got other outlets for that, being a photographer and all! I want at least 30gb, none of that gb stuff! The ones where you can watch movies are cool, but how do you get the movie on there? Hmm, I sound dumb.
    So if anyone can point me in the direction of some site where it helps people like me, I'd appreciate it!! Thanks so much.

    I suggest that you definitely get a Creative Zen Vision: M. They are wonderful. Amazon has them all for 99-206 dollars.
    I recommend the green one (or the pink one since you're a girl :P)

    Now don't go jumping the gun, Jen. I have heard tons of problems with many Creative products. For instance, a lot of people complain that they sometimes can't get their Zen Vision's to connect to the computer to put files on it. But if you have problems, just come back to this site and we'll try and help.
    There is also a chance that you won't have problems too because others have said this before.
    I must say, however, that this site is even more helpful than the one we're currently on so bookmark it or something:

    Thanks for the question. I understand that you are experiencing power issues with your iPhone 5. To completely isolate the issue, you may want to follow these steps:
    Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
    1. Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
    2. Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion.
    Learn about LCIs and corrosion.
    3. Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
    4. After at least 15 minutes, if:
                   - The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen. Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
                   - The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
                   - Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
    5. If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.
                   - If the display turns on, go to step 4.

    No. The iPad's port won't put out enough power. You could probably plug your keyboard into your iPad charger and charge it that way, but it won't charge off the iPad.
