I can't download apps on my new iPod Touch? "iTunes could not process your request, try again later"

When I go to download an app, I'm told to set up with he credit card-  which is fair enough. The thing is though after I've filled it all in- it says something like "iTunes could. It process your request, try again later". This is really irritating as it's my birthday (:D) and this was a presant! Please help- I was really looking forward to using apps.  My wifi is fine, I'm posting this on my iPod.

Close all the apps in the recents tray on your iPad, reboot again, and see if that solves either problem.
Tap the home button once. Then tap the home button twice and the recents tray will appear at the bottom of the screen. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button twice.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
Since it will not hurt anything, you could try resetting your router as well. Unplug it from power for about 30 seconds and then plug it in again.

    The only thing that worked for me was to boot in safe mode.
    Power down.  Then press power button and hold 'shift' key until grey screen with progress bar appears... Once booted and logged in just open safari and browse to applestore. 
    No trouble at all once I did this.
    Reminder: create full backup before you upgrade OS

    Hello, I have problem with access to App Catalog, when i try to access to App Catalog it's give error "The action could not be completed. Try again later" with yellow exclamation mark. I tried to make partial erase, I made full erase, I made Secure erase, but all these steps not helps.
    I renew my firmware with latest webOSDoctor, but still nothing. Then I changed my Palm Profile, I create new one, but still NOT WORKING!
    I checked all connections 3G and Wi-Fi, everything is ok, but App Catalog still not working.
    So, I contacted with Palm Support, I told about this issue and I send them Quick Log and Log

    Honestly saying, the problem I had already a week, I tried to solve it on their own, but all my attempts were unsuccessful, I am sure that this problem is not related to what some of my actions, cause I never made any manipulations with phone.
    I really appreciate the attention rendered by the support services, I just need that everything works fine.
    I am sure that this is some sort of a strange problems, I have long been searching for an answer in the Internet came on similar way problems have other users.
    I received today a update notice for App Catalog, I saw that HP Palm updated App Catalog, I updated my App Catalog, check again, but still nothing changed, same problem "The action could not be completed. Try again later" with yellow exclamation mark.
    So, I will wait for a few days, will see what's happening.

    Today I did run the update utility in my unblocked Palm Pixi Plus. I got the message that updates are available for most of the apps I have installed. When I hit on show updates, I can see the list of updates but after a few seconds I got the following message: The action could not be completed. Try again later.
    My Palm webOS version is 1.4.5
    Unfortunately, I just realized that online support chat was discontinued, it helped me a lot before.
    I appreciate I find a fix in here.

    I downloaded the Microsoft Autoruns package and ran it.  There are no programs in the LSA Providers tab, and Apple's Bonjour is the only program in the Winsock Providers tab.  I also did the "netsh winsock reset" and rebooted.  It didn't fix the problem.  Any more ideas?

    My first generation Ipod is updated to software 3.1.3. I can't download the new software because my Ipod is too old. Whenever I try to download apps it says I need to update my Ipod software, but I can't. So will I never be able to download apps with my Ipod again?

    I too have a 1st gen and running 3.1.3. I've tried to download various apps and get the banner warning. What really is disappointing is the fact 2nd gen and up is supported. There really wasn't much of a time difference in the release dates so this is another example of apple FORCING it''s bread and butter to keep shelling out cash. I've resorted to just using this thing for what it is. A MP3 player. When it dies, I'll start using my Android phone for music. My 4 teens have all been told, make your ipod last as I'm not buying a replacement. Those who have drunk their kookaid I hope suffer a hardware failure when it matters most. Shame on you apple for treating your customers this way. . I've had enough and I hope you lose more market share as time goes on to a more open and as far as I'm concerned, a better produce, Android.     I have had the same error message on my iphone4 since I bought it 3 weeks ago. I have done Restore, reset and rebooted the phone but no luck. 4 of my colleagues with iphone4 are having the same problem at my work.
    Most probably its a bug that Apple wants to keep quiet about. Apple will take some action if all of us report this error using the link(hopefully!!!):
