I can´t import my address book.

Recently change from Tiger to Leopard. But I can´t import my address book.
I have the AddressBook.data file from Tiger, but I can´t import to Leopard. I deleted my user because was corrupt...
I only have this file to recover my address.
Somebody help me!
Thanks

Can you find someone still running Tiger? If so, get them to load your AddressBook.data file and export it as a vCard, which you can then import on Leopard.

It sounds like you use Quest as your ISP, or whoever you have as your ISP is being taken over by Quest. If this is the case it is possible that your email server is being transitioned to Quest and you will need to change your email address and server settings.
I am only speculating since I do not have enough information. I suggest calling your ISP or Quest and ask their help desk about this.

  • Can I import my address book into Adobe Send?

How do I import my address book into Adobe Send?

    Hi propacific,
There is no way to port your address book into Adobe Send, but if you use Send through Adobe Reader, you can access your local address book. And, if you're on Windows, you can use the Outlook plug-in for Adobe Send so you can send directly from Outlook. You can download the plug-in from here: Send Large Files Online - Share, Control, Track & Manage | Adobe Send

You cannot. iTunes syncing of contacts is only supported through Outlook

  • Can I import my address book from a web based program

I have aspire hosting and cant import my address book. I have to many contacts to do this individually. It did import my emails and folders, but not my contact list.

Most email providers have an export function and it would export the address book. You will have to get those instructions from your provider.
In Thunderbird the Import option is on the menu bar in the address book under Tools.
Here are instructions for Yahoo but they should be similar for most providers.

  • Can't import mail/address book from Outlook, old drive, old OS

Recently my wife's G4 died and we bought another. We transferred my wife's the old drive which was running OS9 (I know, she was just hard to convert)and added it to the new G4 as a secondary drive and also as a means of transferring the data. She ws using Outlook in OS 9 and it and the microsoft <user> files reside there (on her old drive). As a result, as good as Mail is in importing from other apps, it won't import from Outlook unless it's running.
To run it, I have to launch Classic but after doing so and starting Outlook, it will now not 'see' the email and address book files...even though at the finder level I can see the 300 megs worth of emails in the Microsoft documents folder....
Argghhhhh! This is business stuff and I'm desparate...can anyone think of a way to get at least the address book imported into Mail, even though I didn't think to output the entire list as a comma file before the old drive died?
I would be most grateful for any help.....!!

This is a very common issue ... so much that a specialized solution exists. I had to deal with it when I converted from the evil PC world. Go to littlemachines.com, look at O2M. It worked very well for me ... but:
The caveat is: it runs on a PC ... intended for one-way-one-time migration out of the evil empire. So, if your Outlook data (.PST file) currently lives on a Mac, you would need to get it on a PC ... and I've never tried that, so I don't know if it works.

  • HT2486 how can I import multiple address books into one. . . . ?

I have two laptops with different Address Books, I want to merge them into one on a new macbook pro. I can only import one archive file, otherwise it will overwrite the other one. . . . or so it says. . . suggestions?

Export the one you want to move to a vCard file (select all contacts) then import to the one you want it to be in.

  • Can't Import Previous Address Book After Reinstall

Had to reinstall my Mac OSX 10.4.3 on my G-4 PowerBook after the G-4 showed only blue screen and refused to startup. The reinstall went so well I decided to upgrade to 10.4.9, and was able to locate and move/import my old Mail email messages from a saved copy off my "confused" harddrive. But I've had no such luck with Mail's old Address Book. vCards seem to be important to this operation, but so far I'm not able to do ANYthing with my former Address Book, much less export that data as a vCard. Any tips for how to fill out the new address book with my old addresses?

How is it you are trying to restore the data. You can just drag the AddressBook.data file over to your ~/Library/Application Support/Address Book/ folder and replace what you have there, already. You might want to copy what's there to another location, first, if you have already added anything. That way, you can go back to it if this doesn't work. Open Address Book. If the file is ok, it should open with all your old address data.

  • Import Pine Address Book

    I'm using iMS5.2
Can I import pine address book from old aix server into Messaging Server address book ?

    Not a supported option.
If you're handy with programming, you could likely manage it. Check the Schema Guide for how the PAB works, and see if you can massage the Pine data into something you can use ldapmodify to create.

When using templates for envelopes can you import names/address from the address book?

Drag the VCard from Address Book onto the open envelope template.

Usually restoring from backup eliminated the corrupted files. However, sometimes restoring to factory settings/new iPod is required.

  • HOw can I get my address book, in Lion, to import from version 5.0.3?

I am trying to import my address book from version 5.0.3 to my new Lion, via flash drive.  Lion won't open the file.  How do I upgrade it?

This would do the trick, thanks.  However, I solved it by making sure that the MacBook that the Address Book was on had Lion, too.  Then, I exported the entries to the Flash Drive and it worked perfectly, seamlessly.  The Lion didn't cost me because I had a few extra installs to use.
