I can't open my googlemail anymore, its says it could not connect
Hi All,
I've a macbook pro, Safari 5.0.2. I use googlemail as main email account. Everything was working fine until I installed TimeCapsule.
Since I installed it I can't access to my google mail account. I can access it via my HTC desire using the same WIFI.
I'm confused, any suggestions will be v much appreciated.

Ok...
Delete all Google / Gmail cookies in Safari and see if that makes a difference.
Safari / Preferences - Security. Click: Show Cookies
If deleting cookies doesn't help, try troubleshooting the Safari .plist file
Quit Safari (Command + Q)
Open a Finder window. Select your Home Folder in the Sidebar on the left. It has a small house icon. Then open the Library folder then the Preferences folder.
Move the com.apple.Safari.plist file from the Preferences folder to the Desktop. Now launch Safari. If you can access Gmail or the link I posted before, move that .plist file to the Trash.

I downloaded CS6 Design and Web Premium 30 day trial, but can't open Dream Weaver as it tells me I need to install a java runtime to do this but that I can't because I'm (apparently) not connected to the internet. I am connected however, and when I try the network diagnostics it also confirms that I'm connected to the WiFi.

i updated my ipod the other day and since i have been unable to open any apps that connect to the internet, its says "operation could not be completed. invalid argument". anybody help please?
Have yu tried the standard fixes:
- Reset the iPod:
Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
Restore the iPod via iTunes, First from backup and if problems persist, restore to factory defaults/new iPod. -
when i try and open itunes a memo pops up saying "itunes could not connect to this iPhone. This device is no longer connected" my iphone is not plugged into my mac so i dont know why its mentioning an iphone nor why i cant open my itunes library?
Each time you connect your iPhone to iTunes, you need to eject it before closing iTunes by clicking on the little "eject" icon shown in iTunes. It seems that sometime in the past, you did not do that.
I'm not sure how to undo the previously done damage, but maybe a reboot of your Mac would help. -
hello, i just downloaded itunes on my acer laptop and its been giving me problems everytime i try to get on to the itunes store.. it gives me a message saying "itunes could not connect to the itunes store. an unknown error occurred. when i try to open my itues it says "iTunes could not connect to the iTunes store. The Network connection timed out. Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active, and try again"
I am having similar issues except that the store starts to load, then stops, then I only get iTunes Store in gray letters on a white screen. I can access playlist and the other stuff. Like flamesgirl, I contacted them and they just keep sending me links of stuff to try which I had already seen on the Apple website and nothing works. I posted the question on another forum I belong to and one responder said her husband was in an Apple store and asked about this problem as he was having the same issue. They said an update would be coming out soon as they were aware of the problem. Who knows.

Assuming that you're not in a country that restricts or censors internet access, or connected to a LAN that does so (i.e. some dormatory and office systems):
1. Reset the phone (no data loss): Press both the home and power buttons for at least 10 seconds, releasing when the Apple logo appears.
2. Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings
3. Disable WiFi and update using cell data network. -

I have the same problem with my Windows 8.1 laptop and my guess is that since I changed my Internet Provider who now delivers IPv6 addresses the problem occurs. A frieend who has a different provider does not have the problem in his home, but when he tries using iTunes at my home with my network he gets the same problem.
I have already solved a previous problem with Outlook 2003 not being able to receive emails from my wifes GMail account although everything else worked fine. The solution here was to enter the IPv4 address of Google POP-Server in the hosts file, overriding the IPv6 address.
Maybe something similar helps with this iTunes error.
If someone knows the hostname of the iTunes Store server, it could be pinged and the IPv4 address could be determined and then entered in the HOSTS file.
I'll continue trying in this direction and will post a solution if I find one.

I try to connect to iTunes and it comes up with a box saying "iTunes could not connect to the iPad because it is locked with a passcode. you must enter your code on the iPad before it can be used with iTunes", but i cant enter the code on the iPad because it is saying "connect to iTunes". Can anybody help?? It is on the new iPad.
FORCE IPAD INTO RECOVERY MODE
1. Turn off iPad
2. Turn on computer and launch iTunes (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port.
DO NOT RELEASE BUTTON until you see picture of iTunes and plug
5. Release Home button.
ON COMPUTER
6. iTunes has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTunes.
7. Select "Restore iPad"...
Note:
1. Data will be lost if you do not have backup
2. You must follow step 1 to step 4 VERY CLOSELY. -

I installed WIN 7 and can't open many attachments. Message says it is not a supported file type ?
After I replaced WIN XP with WIN 7 many attachments won't open. Message says Adobe Reader (using Adobe X) can't open "xxxxxxxxx.pps" because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an e-mail attachment and wasn't correctly decoded) This never happened with WIN XP. Any suggestions nykirk
How are you trying to open them?
I ask because a .pps is a Powerpoint slide show and Adobe REader only opens PDF's.
So, are you double clicking on a file and REader is trying to open them or are you opening Reader then using File>Open and navigating to the file or something else. As many details as you can supply would be good. -
First off my ipad will not turn on by pushing the start button. when plug up and after touching setting,wi-fi on the left says not connected
Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are drooping internet connection)
• Launch Settings app

• In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.
