You did not elevate your command prompt or you don't have permissions.
But the end result in those cases is usually a silent empty return.

You are using Hyper-V server and not Hyper-V on Windows Sever.
Hyper-V server is free, but it only includes the Hypervisor and no GUI (Only for managing Hyper-V)
what's your physical machine OS ?
If it's Windows 8 or 8.1 then you can enable the Hyper-V management tools (Programs and features, Turn On/off Windows Features, Hyper-V, Hyper-V management tools). Then open the Hyper-V console and connect to your Hyper-V server.

  • Remote Desktop Connection Manager can only open 6 sessions at a time on Server 2012

I am only able to open, and view thumbnails, for a maximum of 6 RDP sessions on my Server 2012 box at a time in Remote Desktop Connection Manager (RDCM). If I add more sessions I just get a variety of connection errors for the additional sessions. If I activate
a 7th session one of the existing 6 sessions goes off-line with a connection error message. Sometimes the error says 3334, sometimes the error says 0x8345000E, and sometimes it just says there is a connection error.
I have checked Group Policy on the server to ensure I don't have any settings restricting the number of RDP sessions.
In fact, I will often have 30 or 40 RDP simultaneous sessions opened, I am just not able to view them all in RDCM. I have seen reviews of RDCM with screenshots showing dozens of thumbnails so it seems to be something that's possible to do.
Are there any settings I should make on the server to allow RDCM to connect to more than 6 simultaneous RDP sessions?
Just to be clear, all these RDP sessions are running on the same server. Also, I am just using the trial license for Server 2012 and Remote Desktop Services right now. I don't think that should have an impact, but I wanted to be thorough.

    Thanks Jakub for "corflags" info.
Unfortunatelly it doesn't work because running mRemoteNG.exe process in 64bit can't load MSTSC ActiveX component (referenced assemblies) because original files were assembled from 32bit dll [mstscax.dll]?
Error message when making RDP connection:
Could not load file or assembly 'Interop.MSTSCLib, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' or one of its dependencies. An attempt was made to load a program with an incorrect format.
I was able to create new AxInterop.MSTSCLib.dll and Interop.MSTSCLib.dll assemblies from 64bit dll version and now it works with "AnyCPU":-)
    http://www.filedropper.com/axinteropmstsclib-mremoteng
Using AxImp.exe and TlbImp.exe didn't worked for me because it creates assemblies in wrong namespace "MSTSCLib" instead of "Interop.MSTSCLib" (AxImp.exe) and TlbImp.exe for changing namespace generated many "marshaled errors"
    so final .dll wasn't working.
Adding MSTSCAX.dll reference in Visual Studio directly created correct and functional assemblies. Who don't know how to create 64bit compatible assemblies or don't have Visual Studio, feel free to check linked file.
    Hope it helps
P.S. Sorry for possible technical misinterpretation, I am not programmer so creating new assemblies was trial-error process...

    Hi all,
I am using SQL Server from last 3 years. I started SQL Server 2008 R2. Now I am using SQL Server 2012. I want to change my development environment to SQL Server 2012 R2. But suddenly I saw that SQL Server 2014 is released. I want to know what are the

I searched through the Internet but I didn't find any article regarding that. So could someone help me to solve this matter?

  • How Can we force the Hyper-V Replica to use a dedicated network between two hyper-v hosts?

    Dear Team,
How can we force Hyper-V Replica to use a dedicated network between two hyper-v hosts?
For live migration, we can choose the desired network in Hyper-V Manager (Use these IP addresses for Live Migration).
I have two 10G adapters teamed together, the virtual switch is created on top as converged network with several vNICs (MangementOS, LiveMigratrion, Backup, etc...)
Each network is set with a specific VLAN to isolate the traffic.
The two Hyper-V hosts are on the same LAN and domain.
    Thank you.
    Regards,

I have accomplished this by using a DNS pointer specifying an IP address on that dedicated network. That will force traffic done that network.

  • My Macbook Air just shows the lit screen with nothing on it. The mouse does not respond.  Nor does the screen change.  How can I reset to get the Air working again.  2012 model with the latest software updates.

My Macbook Air is totally unresposive once it is turned on. It has 256 GB of flash memory.  No mouse cursor; the keyboard has no effect. Running the battery down and then plugging in does not fix this.  What can I do to get the Air back?

Have you tried to recover your Mac?
Boot and hold Cmd-R until the recovery screen appears. Follow the prompts. This will reinstall everything over the internet - you do not need any installation media.

  • Can't update my Iphone (the iphone software update server could not be contacted)

    Hello,
I've been trying to fix this problem by my self with no luck so I'm writing to you guys, hoping you will have the right answers.
I dropped my iPhone4 today and it turned off, when I plugged it into a charger it showed me a screen of IOS6 (which I didn't had this update updated) and when I "silde right" it wrote that I need to update it by iTunes.
So I opened ITunes while my IPhone was connected that it automatically tried to update it as needed, after 20 seconds of loading I get this error massage:
"the iPhone software update server could not be contacted"
I've tried everything; turning off firewall, update my AntiVirus, restarting my router, restarting pc while IPhone not\connected, changed usb exist (using a back exit atm),changing usb cable and even reinstalled my iTunes (yes, my iTunes is up to date), although when I tried to update my itunes it gives me this error:
"The iTunes update server could not be connacted. Please chek your Internet connection, or try again later. " but I don't think it's related but worth to mention it.
    My iPhone is NOT jailbreaked
please help me to fix this problem,
    Thanks In Advnace.

These errors typically occur when security software interferes with the restore and update process. FollowTroubleshooting security software issues to resolve this issue. In rare cases, these errors may be a hardware issue. If the errors persist on another computer, the device may need service.
Also, check your hosts file to verify that it's not blocking iTunes from communicating with the update server. See iTunes: Advanced iTunes Store troubleshooting—follow steps under the heading Blocked by configuration (Mac OS X / Windows) > Rebuild network information > Mac OS X > The hosts file may also be blocking the iTunes Store. If you have software used to perform unauthorized modifications to the iOS device, uninstall this software prior to editing the hosts file to prevent that software from automatically modifying the hosts file again on restart.

The following actions may help you resolve the problem:
    1) Verify that the processor of the physical computer has a supported version of hardware-assisted virtualization.
    2) Verify that hardware-assisted virtualization and hardware-assisted data execution protection are enabled in the BIOS of the physical computer. (If you edit the BIOS to enable either setting, you must turn off the power to the physical computer and then
turn it back on. Resetting the physical computer is not sufficient.)
    2) If you have made changes to the Boot Configuration Data store, review these changes to ensure that the hypervisor is configured to launch automatically."

  • Hyper-V Guest Server 2012 R2 Loses Connectivity Intermittently Every Week

    Hello,
We have been having this issue for some time now and getting frustrated. We have a Server 2012 R2 Host running on a HP ML350 G8. It is running a Server 2012 R2 Guest using Hyper-V. The guest OS is attached to its own NIC on the HP Server (which comes with
    4 NICS built it)
Every week, the guest server seems to lose connectivity to everything. The guest server is still on but all devices on the network can no longer access the shares or even ping the server.
To fix this, the ethernet cable of the NIC connected to the guest is disconnected from the switch and then reconnected. The host server is running fine throughout.
Why does this keep happening? It seems to happen like clockwork every week Thursday afternoon!

    Hi Sir,
Based on my experience , first you may need to keep the physical NIC driver up-to-date .
Also please check if there is "VMQ"/"virtual machine queue" property in advanced properties of physical NICs:
If yes please disable it for each team member then check the result .
    Best Regards,
    Elton Ji

  • How can I create a Pooled VDI infraestructure using Win server 2012 as VM image?

    Hello
I have followed the "usual" way to build a pooled VDI desktop using Win7 or Win8 with success, but it fails when I use an image of Win Server 2012 as VM instead.
Am I overlooking something?  Should I need to prepare the image in a different way? (Sysprep differently?)
    Thanks

    Dear Ryan
I think the point is other than committing a breach of licensing.  I have a legitimate need to use a pooled server system, which incidentally is not going to be end user.
The "economy" of the proposed structure can make a more efficient use of the equipment.
This is an excerpt of the MS VDI Q&A:
Do I need to pay for Windows VDA if I use Windows Server as a client operating system in my virtual machine?
    OR
I’ve heard that I can avoid paying for Windows VDA by using Windows Server as my VDI desktop OS. Is this true?
    Running a Windows Server®
OS as the desktop in the datacenter does not require Windows VDA, but there are many reasons why a server OS should not be used as a desktop, especially in the datacenter:
The user experience with servers as the desktop is very different from using a Windows client.
Many applications for end users were written for a client OS and not a server OS. Each of your applications would need to be retested to ensure compatibility with a server OS. Additionally, most vendors
do not offer support for client applications running on servers.
Clients and servers are on different patch cycles, adding to management complexity.
Most of the VDI ecosystem will support the Windows client in the datacenter, not server OS’s.
However, if you do decide to run a server OS as the desktop, please note that you will need to pay a Remote Desktop Services Client Access License (RDS-CAL) to correctly license that scenario.
