I can't sign OUT of iCloud on my new phone. I have a new email address...

We got new phones today. My wife and I had the same iCloud account and the friends at Verizon told us to each have one. So I set up my own account. We went to set up our phones and it keeps asking me for the OLD password (2 email addresses ago) and then when entered correct tells me the account does not exist...which I already know. I want to change the apple ID on my phone but CANT because it is all gray. I have tried to reset in the ITunes and App Storeand when I do this again I am prompted with the old account. I tried to step back and punt and clear the phone and set it up again...no luck. I am so annoyed please help me this has been a headache for hours.

Can't sign out of iCloud on Yosemite. Mail was unable to delete 'email'.

I have a MacBook Pro running Yosemite 10.10.1 and I'm trying to log out of my iCloud account, but it won't let me. The error message I keep getting says,
"Mail was unable to delete 'email'. Relaunch Mail then sign out of iCloud again." I get the same message if I try to delete the account from Internet Accounts.
I've tried adding the email account in, but it says it's already there. I've deleted the com.apple.mail folder rebooted and tried and still the same thing.
The supervisor and engineers at Apple phone support have yet to find a solution for this other than wiping my system clean and starting fresh. That's definitely not my preference.
Any help would be much appreciated!

I had the same issue. I rebooted to safe mode by holding the shift key at boot up. From there I went to System Preferences, iCloud, and I was able to finally sign out.

Basically, someone was hacking my apple account for a while and kept changing the password so i kept resetting it, now i've had to change my email as icloud still wouldn't accept my new passwords - even after being updated. Now i can't sign out of icloud due to it being the wrong email and an unknown previous password, as i can't turn off find my phone.ipad. How do i solve this without losing everything as i can't just delete the account and the usb ports on my laptop have gone so i can't back up to my laptop. If you mean that Find My Phone is asking for a password to a different Apple ID to your current Apple ID and that ID is a previous version of your current ID, not an entirely different one.
This feature has been introduced to make stolen phones useless to those that have stolen them.
However it can also arise when the user has changed their Apple ID details with Apple and not made the same changes to their iCloud account/Find My Phone on their device before upgrading to iOS 7, or if you restore from a previous back up made before you changed your details and some other circumstances.
The only solution is to change your Apple ID back to its previous state with Apple at My Apple ID using your current password, you don’t need access to this address if it’s previously been used with your Apple ID, once you have saved these details enter the password as requested on your device and then turn off "find my phone" and delete the account from your device. It may take a short while to remove the account.
You should then change your Apple ID back to its current state, save it once again and then log back in using your current Apple ID. Finally, turn "find my phone" back on once again.

All I am asking you to do is migrate their apple ID to their alternate email account settings and free up my email address so that:
A. I can use it and B. I stop getting messages about their account history.
Either that or just cancel their account as they have no right to use my personal details.
Yes I could set up a new email address but WHY THE **** should I? I've been using this email account for years for personal stuff, it's not mu fault if someone can sign it up as an AppleID without me being able to confirm their sign up process!

Backup to computer first and sync Apps to iTunes first!
Restore in recovery mode will work, be persistent and retry
Recovery restore challenges
- computer didn't detect recovery iphone, attempted and failed 3 times
rebooted computer then recovery restore worked
- recovery restore was successful, unlocked, and iMessage/Facetime, Find My Iphone, ALL WORKS!
Restore from backup challenges
* Make sure you have plenty of harddrive space!
- have to restore first then restore from backup, i did this incorrectly by restoring from backup and the find my iphone feature got stuck forcing me to recovery restore
- each restore from backup attempt will copy the original backup and create another backup folder. My original was about 10gb, so it copied another 10gb onto my computer's harddrive
- when i restore from backup, my computer ran out of space and errored out/failed.
- I tried again to restore from backup then figured out where the backup data folder was and tried to transfer to external harddrive but not quick enough and failed again.
- finally cleared the extra backup data files and restore from backup was successfull
Missing apps from restore from backup
- Downloaded all my missing Apps from APP store
- I have 300+ apps and there are only 15 screen scrolls, have to organize before apps will populate and load, very difficult to organize now. Wished I had sync Apps first.
Conclusion
This process took me literally 20+ hours to correct and will probably take me few more hours to organize the apps into their respective folders...
At least I got everything to work. Hope this helps!

I though I could trigger Notes and Calendar to begin working again if I singed out and then signed back in? But when I tap sign out, it asks if I want to save or delete data, no matter which option I choose, a dialogue box pops up saying "Signing Out" and a timer circle just keeps running and running and never signs out????

You should have done it the other way arround. You should have started with signing out, before you changed your email. I would suggest to follow these steps...
1. change your email address back to the old one
2. delete your iCloud account from all your devices (especially turn off "Find My iPhone")
3. change your email to your new email address aigain
4. add your iCloud account again

Signing in using the apple id password to update and purchase stuff thru apple store, gives the old email and am unable to get into the apps store, etc...to change, update and purchase stuff. when using password it won't work, as the email is wrong, yet in the box doesn't appear a place to change the email. would have thought as it changed, days ago - it would change to the updated email.

You cannot. This is the new security feature of iOS 7, so stolen iPhones are rendered useless. Go to Apple Store or contact Apple Support for help.

~ My Apple ID is blocked, because I write wrong passwords many times.

~ I don't remember question answers and other related information to fix this problem from iforgot
~ Find my phone is on - I bought this Phone (used with box and everything clear) six month ago.

My son has an iPad, but it's configured with my wife's iCloud account. Since he's a minor, we've used a 'family' account for music and apps purchases. I'm starting now to set up up with his own iCloud account, but I see that his iPad is already configured to use my wife's iCloud account.
How can I sign out this iCloud account, to begin the process of creating a new one for him?
I see under Settings - iCloud, there is a "delete account" at the bottom, which I'm very reluctant to use, since this is a valid account that my wife uses. SO - is using this button the equivalent of logging off, but not really deleting? Or will it really delete the account?

Go ahead, tap the delete account button. Deleting the account from your iOS device will do just that, it will not delete the data in iCloud.
By the way are you aware that iCloud and iTunes are different accounts. You can maintain separate iCloud accounts and hence separate contacts, calendars etc, etc, though share an iTunes accounts and hence all your music and apps.

I just wanted to make some tests on my iMac. I activated "Find My Mac" through iCloud. When I am signing out from iCloud (Control panel on OSX's system preference) iCloud.com is showing no device to track. Also, if I change account on iCloud the device cannot be tracked.
My question is;
If my iMac gets stolen and if the theif sign out from iCloud or change iCloud account can I still track or remote lock the iMac?

No. The Mac/device has to have had the 'Find My...' app enabled, and thus be signed in, be on, not wiped, and able to connect to a network.
