  • Cannot import WAV files into itunes with 8.01!

Although I see posts in this category, this question has not been answered. iTunes 8 and 8.01 have lost a critical capability compared to iTunes 7. I have an Olympus digital voice recorder that I like to download to my ipod. I could do this before 8.01! Now I cannot!
Are you working on a solution?

What problem are you having ?
You should be able to copy your library from your old computer : How to move your iTunes library to a new computer. Or if both computers are connected to the same wifi network then you could use home sharing to copy it over. Or copy it from your backup of your downloads/library and add it via File > Add To Library.
You might also be able to redownload some/all of your past purchases via the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage,or by going into iTunes > Preferences (command-comma) and ticking the 'show iTunes in the Cloud purchases' tickbox - it might then show in the Music part of your library with a cloud icon against it for redownloading.

  • Hi i want to import my music to itunes

I want to import my music to itunes, and immediately place it on several different playlists. The playlists i eventually want in itunes are stored on my drive in separate folders. How do i do this quickly (not having to sort through ALL my music) ?? ..What i want: HD Folders = iTunes playlists.

    Pelotero,
Create a new playlist by using the command File > New Playlist.  It will show up under the name "untitled playlist," which you can immediately change to the name you want.
Click its new name to open the playlist.  Then drag the folder of songs into the open pane.  Each song in the folder will be added to the playlist, and to the library if it is not already there.
As you see, there is no sorting required.  Try it once with a folder of 3-4 songs so you can see how it works.

If you were instructed to call them, then that's what you should do. They will probably need to verify your identity before helping you with the security question.

    JohnAndKel,
That's odd because the CD reading test that the diagnostics runs didn't report an error. What happens if you select a song from the CD in iTunes and play directly from CD?
(Just a note, the filter trick doesn't do anything for CD import, just CD burn. iTunes doesn't use the Gear drivers for reading the CD.)

  • Import purchased music to iTunes

Hi! I just bought a new iMac, but I'm having some problems getting the old music I purchased into the new iMac. I can see a list over all the music, but not an option to import it to iTunes. Can anyone help me? Thank you

There are two reasons for FCP. Maybe only one for iMovie.
    1. You do not buy the music from iTunes and you do not own the music. If you read the agreement you made when you created your iTunes account, you will see what you actually are purchasing when you do a download. Thus in regard to FCP, which is considered a professional application, FCP will not allow the use of such rights restricted material on the reasonable assumption that the user will be selling or attempting to sell or offer to sell the FCP project.
    2. Regardless of source or whatever was "purchased" in regard to audio, FCP sound tracks will accept and allow rendering of audio at 48kHz only. That technical requirement excludes the iTunes format which arrives at your CPU at 44kHZ as well as compressed as well as mp3 etc. etc.
iMovie has no such limit. But it is very likely some real owners of the tunes on iTunes may have incorporated encoding that restricts the use to one "save" (the download).
    3. Yes you can attempt to circumvent the agreement regarding iTunes material, including the ones mentioned on the iMovie forum. But keep in mind that when you manage to do that, the final product is merely a 48kHz version of a compressed audio file. Lots of audio information is missing. Some folks hear it, some folks cannot, and some do not care.
    4. In the case of iMovie (or FCP) the big cheat is when one either sells, offers to sell, or allows the Movie (FCP) project to be used in connection with revenue generation and that project contains stuff you down loaded(and converted) from iTunes and do not have permission( always with a fee) from the actual owner. This includes iMovie projects (FCP project)to be used in connection with generating a flow of money for whatever cause whether or not you the video maker keeps the money.
The music is owned by its creator and whomever rights to that property were assigned. iTunes does not and cannot offer the actual property.

  • I cannot import audio files to iTunes

I just downloaded an audiobook with 8 chapters from a website. The files are "MPEG file". Is it the reason why I cannot import or add them to the library in iTunes ?
I had the first volume of the same audiobook, it had a "film MPEG" name even though it was audio ! and it sit on my iTunes library nicely.
I must add that I got the iTunes 7 yesterday, so … maybe it is connected ?
can anyone give me a hint ?
    thanks a lot

Thank you for taking the time to answer. I was very busy until now and could not thank you earlier.
Anyhow, searching and searching, I found the solution to my problem. iTunes was not to blame. What happened is that I did not download the files "really". Because of my ignorance about how to download I only saved an "image" of them (kind of…) and that is why it could not play or get added to the iTunes library.
After understanding that I went back to the site and there they were, ready to be downloaded for good ! I could do the downloading in a proper way and everything was fine with iTunes.

  • I can't add music to iTunes with latest software and updates.

I just updated to Mavericks and I have version 11.1.3 (8) of iTunes.  I still had music in a folder that was not in the itunes media folder and now I can't add this music to iTunes or even play the music.  Is there anything I can do to fix this so I can add the music to iTunes?

Just try to downgrade to older ITunes version, there's serioud problem with lastest ITunes upgrade.
Time machine can fix this problem is ur latest backup was a few months ago and contains an older ITunes version.
Version 11.3 doesnt support iPod classic & 3th gen Ipod & Iphone anymore.
Its a matter of Apple politics.

  • I cannot access my music via itunes match

It has never worked well, accessing music has taken approx 2-3 minutes - slow enough that I have chosen to switch itunes match off.  However, yesterday I ried again (I figured initital problems might be resolved).  The problem is worse - I cannot access any music on my iphone via itunes match.
It is truly the worst purchase I have ever made.

Here's a list of specific error codes & there resolution:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3694
Try recovery mode again, as outlined in the first article I gave you. Make sure there are no Firewalls turned on or any Anti-Virus software running. If it errors out again, pay attention to any code shown.

  • Cannot import more music

    Hello,
iTunes won't let me import more music, it says the disk is full. My iBook is new and I hardly have anything stored on the hard drive. I have 16.14 GB in my music library. Does anyone know how I can resolve this?
Thanks in advance for your time.

In the Finder, click on your HD (probably called 'Macintosh HD') and Get Info (command-I).

  • Can't download music from iTunes with my iPhone!!!

Everytime I try to buy music from iTunes it says "A valid address is necessary to purchase using store credit". I alreday have everything set up.
    Message was edited by: Arnaldo1287

This has nothing to do with the iPhone; it means that your user profile is not complete in the iTunes store. Your address may be invalid, your credit card number (or gift card number), the CCV code of your card, the expiration date, etc. Once you correct whatever is wrong you will be able to purchase music.
