I cannot open Firefox 3.5.10. Is there a conflict with RoboForm?

I recently upgraded to Firefox 3.6 to learn that Roboform is incompatible. I was advised to use Firefox 3.5.10 and I downloaded it. Now, after using Firefox, I have to restart my computer to open Firefox again. Now I'm using I.E. as I have no choice.

Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0; Windows NT 5.1; FunWebProducts; .NET CLR 1.1.4322; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; .NET CLR 3.0.4506.2152; .NET CLR 3.5.30729)

Open the Windows Task Manager > Processes tab, locate the '''firefox.exe''' process and click on it so it is highlighted. Then use the End Process button to kill it. That should keep you from having to restart your PC to open Firefox a 2nd time.
If that continues to happen after re-installing Firefox 3.6.6, see this:
https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Firefox+hangs#Hang_at_exit
I don't know where you got the information that Roboform isn't compatible with Firefox 3.6, all you have to do is to install the latest Roboform adapter.
Install the Roboform adapter for Firefox 3.0 - 3.7a1pre from here:
http://www.roboform.com/firefox.html
You want the one under '''Full RoboForm for Firefox, Mozilla and Netscape'''.
Browser Version XPI file to use if not installed automatically
'''Firefox 3.0 - 3.7a1pre ''Installed Automatically (roboform-firefox-3.0-frozen.xpi)'''''
Or, you can install it with this link:

Received an update yesterday that turned off Norton before installing itself. Now cannot open Firefox. Get error message.

This issue can happen if the updater wasn't able to update all the files.
    Do a clean (re-)install:
    * Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
    * Firefox 3.6.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html
    * Firefox 4.0: http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html
    * Uninstall your current Firefox version and remove the Firefox program folder before installing that copy of the Firefox installer.
    * Don't remove personal data if you uninstall the current version.
    * It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere (not in the Firefox program folder) and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.

  • Cannot open firefox in more than one window

I cannot open Firefox in more than one window. I deleted and reinstalled the latest version but this did not help. I was able to open Firefox in multiple windows prior to installing an update of Avast. Don't think it should have an effect on Firefox.
Downloaded Seamonkey and have no problem with multiple windows.

Try the Firefox SafeMode. <br />
    ''A troubleshooting mode, which disables most Add-ons.'' <br />
''(If you're not using it, switch to the Default Theme.)''
    # You can open the Firefox 4/5/6/7 SafeMode by holding the '''Shft''' key when you use the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
    # Or use the Help menu item, click on '''Restart with Add-ons Disabled...''' while Firefox is running. <br />
''To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before using the Firefox shortcut (without the Shft key) to open it again.''
You should be able to uninstall that AOL toolbar extension while running in the Firefox SafeMode.

  • I suddenly cannot open Firefox

I turned on my windows vista computer and it would not start properly so it resolved the problems, then started up.
Since then i cannot open Firefox, i click on the icon and nothing opens. I have tried shutting down/restarting but still i does not work.

There is a problem fairly soon in the process if profile manager will not start.
You could try in Firefox's [[safe-mode]] next you could try in Windows safemode by using the F8 key.
From what you say I am wondering if you have done a Windows restore of some form and recreated Firefox that way. Firefox does not always restore properly from Windows. You may be looking at re-installing Firefox.
If you consider re-installing do NOT take any options from Windows or Firefox that offers to delete personal settings because that will destroy things like passwords and bookmarks.

  • Cannot open firefox on email (AT&T yahoo) icon since updating to v8

Ever since I updated to the new version of Firefox I cannot open Firefox when I click my AT&T yahoo icon. I get an orange screen and it says Mozilla Firefox in the upper left corner. If I click in the left corner it says "not responding." This also happens when I click on the Firefox icon. The only way I have been able to get into Firefox is to right click on the Firefox icon and select "open outside BufferZone." BufferZone is a security program Kim Komando recommended. I did not have this problem until I updated. What can I do to fix this?

  • I cannot open firefox from my desktop or start menu

I cannot open firefox from my desktop or start menu. this happened last night. IE will open and functions properly. I have the latest version of firefox installed. thank you

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox without informing you about that, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process.

    Hi Gary,
I have seen this issue occur with users who have this registry setting missing or have improper permissions.
When you double click the attachment to launch the pdf it is saved and opened from the temporary folder unless saved specifically to a location.
If you dont have the below mentioned registry key or improper permissions then attachments fail to open.
Please  heck if the following reg key exists:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Outlook\Security
    or
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Outlook\Security
    Value Name: OutlookSecureTempFolder
If the value exists, and if the value contains a valid path, Outlook 2010 uses that location for its temporary files.
If the registry value does not exist, or if the value points to an invalid location, Outlook 2010, Outlook 2007, or Outlook 2003 creates a new subdirectory under the Temporary Internet Files directory and then puts the temporary file in the new subdirectory. The name of the new subdirectory is unknown and is randomly generated, depending on your version of Outlook.
    Please check the following key:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Outlook\Security
Note the location for: OutlookSecureTempFolder key
Check if the same folder exists in the following location and if not create a corresponding folder in the location on C:\Users\<User account name>\Appdata\Local\Software\Microsoft\Windows\......

    Rave

The error was: "There was a problem communicating with the web proxy server (HTTP)."
I have had all the Apple iPhone phone.  Have never encountered anything like this.
All systems are GO as soon as I log on to wifi.
    Can anyone help, please.

I am also fixed.  I also loaded Onavo, but that was the other day ... this is what I did with the help of online chat with AT&T ...
    I went to:
    Settings
    Wifi
I selected the network I was working on by hitting the blue arrow located on right side
At the detail page of that network I scolled down to the bottom to find HTTP Proxy boxes
I was on Off and changed it to Auto and it worked!
    I was soo jazzed!!
Instructions said if it was already on AUTO, to change it to Manual and make your Port = 80 but I didn't have to do that!
    YIPPIE!!  I'm a new man!!
Go to settings -----> WI-FI  -----> select the network you're using  ------> hit the blue arrow located on the right-side of the network name (ie: show details of that network), this takes you to another page.
--------> at the bottom of the page you'll see "HTTP Proxy" boxes (located below the "renew lease" button) ---------------> change the proxy to AUTO.   Note: if you're already at AUTO, change it to "Manual" and make your Port = 80.
