  • IPod cannot sync with iTunes

Hello everyone. I have a small problem with my brothers iPod. It cannot sync with iTunes, but mine can sync perfectly. We have the same iPod (Nano, 2GB) but his is black, and mine is white. When the iPod is plugged in, iTunes freezes for a minute or two and then keeps going. When songs are being updates, it freezes, and sometimes says that the source cannot by written to or read from, Any help?

Oh and note that sometimes iTunes thinks its a White iPod but really is Black.
    Help!
Note: i did read this: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=301267 and it did not help.

    Yes it is.
Initially I got an error message saying can't connect because of Date & Time settings.
Went in and re-verified that those were correct.
Tried to update downloads and then got a new error message: "Can't connect to iTunes Store".
I live in the US and that's where I created my iTunes a/d and Apple ID.
I am currently in India --- can that coause confusion re date & time?

  • I cannot sync to itunes on my computer (Windows Vista 32 bit) with my mini conected.

I cannot sync to itunes on my computer (Windows Vista 32 bit) with my mini connected. What should I do?
My Mini will not boot up. I tried holding both buttons down.  I got a "connect to itunes" message. I connected. and nothing happens.

    Hello there Chess-ster,
If I understand correctly your iPad mini is not being recognized in iTunes on your Windows Vista PC. I would recommend you use the troubleshooting in the following article:
iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch not recognized in iTunes for Windows
Start with these steps and work your way down as needed:
    Restart
Turn off your computer and your iOS device, then turn them on again.
    Update your computer
Check to make sure that you've installed all required updates for your computer.
    Update iTunes
Check that you have the latest version of iTunes installed on your computer.
    Check the USB cable
Verify that the 30-pin to USB cable or Lightning Connector to USB cable is free of debris and not damaged. If another cable is available, test with that cable instead.
USB cables that are bundled with third-party products or accessories might work only to charge those products and might not transmit data. Also, if you're using a third-party case or extended battery pack, try removing the case and connecting the Apple-supplied USB cable directly to your device.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Sterling

  • Iphone 3gs cannot sync to itunes

why my iPhone 3gs cannot sync to itunes? after i click synced, the phone seemed to sync to itunes but when it's about to complete, itunes cancelled the sync. WHYYYY? I've been having this problem since i've updated my iPhone to iO5.

    Two things to try:
If you have a Windows computer open a Command window and type:
        netsh   winsock   reset
If this doesn't fix it, or if you have a Mac, your current backup may be corrupted. Delete it by going to iTunes Preferences, Devices tab, highlight the backup and delete it.
And if this still doesn't fix it, you may have a badly corrupted backup. Delete it manually by going the the Backup folder and deleting everything in it. You can find it as follows:
    Mac OS: ~Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup
    Windows XP %AppData%\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup
    Windows Vista and Windows 7: %AppData%\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup

  • Apple tv 1st gen cannot sync with itunes 11.1 purchase

My 1st gen Apple TV cannot sync movies/TV shows that were purchased after itunes 11.1 upgrade.  Old movies/TV shows purchased prior to 11.1 have no issue deleting or adding to ATV, anyone has same issue?

Well ... took a long time but found out you are right.  The ones that I cannot sync to ATV are the 1080p movies/TV shows.
I thought I had previously downloaded many HD movies/TV shows, but after checking the "get info" they are at best 720p even though the titles say "HD"
Guess I have to upgrade.  Thanks a lot!

  • Cannot sync using itunes

cannot sync the iphone to my computer
Not allow to key in the sync in the pull down menu
    Help!

The error was introduced with version 9.1 - http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2390726&start=0&tstart=0
What I did back then, was to uninstall all Apple applications, just to get a clean start, iTunes, Quick Time, Bonjour etc., rebooted, then installed version 9.0.3 and then it worked again.
I found the old version at http://www.oldapps.com/itunes.php
... and you guys at Apple, instead of giving us articles about the format of the MS Outlook pst file and directions to rename OpenSSL files etc., please fix the problem! - You introduced it, you fix it!

  • Cannot sync to itunes error 1150

cannot sync my iTouch to my itunes, get an error code: "an unknown error occured (1150)" Anyone out there getting this same error? If so, what can I do to get the sync to happen?

I encountered the same error for iPAD 2. The solution is related to restriction that I turned on to disallow deletion and installation of software. This basically make sense as iTune will install and delete applications (app) during sync. As it can't perform the operation into iPAD/iPhone/iPod/iTouch, it throws an error, which is not user friendly
The solution is to allow apps installation & deletion as below:
    1. Setting
    2. General
    3. Restrictions
    4. Turn on for "Installing Apps"
    5. Turn on for "Deleting Apps"
Now disconnect and reconnect iPad/iPhone/iTouch/iPod (if not connect), or (if connected) press "Sync" button to sync again. It will not throw the error any more
I cross post this solution in my blog singcheong.blogspot.com. Please reference to my blog to credit my contribution

  • Iphone 4: updated to IOS 6.2.  Blank Mail screen, and stuck at 21 emails.  Can't access anything.  Cannot Sync with iTunes either.  It cycles and never gets beyond step 2, then recycles

I have an iphone running OS6.01. After updating, March 3 was my last sync.  iTunes recognizes the phone, but the progress bar sits on eithe step 1 or 2 of 7 steps. Then it starts over.  The device icon on the left shows syncing taking place, as does the phone.
Have rebooted the MBpro and the phone several times.  Have held down the top and home buttons until the apple appears, to no avail.
Also starting March 3rd my iPhone has been struggling;  My Mail is stuck at 21, and all I get is a blank screen when I click on the app. I have now other apps that won't open at all now...and when I go into settings to click on mail, I get a blue hightlighted box that stalls and goes nowhere.
    Thoughts...solutions are welcome

    Apple - Fix this!!!!!!
Apple, THIS IS WHERE YOU NEED TO LOOK on iOS 6 regarding "WIFI Lockout"!!!!!!
When this happens (WIFI freezes up aka "WIFI Lockout") – you can not get on internet while using WIFI!!!!!
You could be in the middle of surfing or using any app that makes data calls based on DNS and suddenly you can go no where or do nothing!
Yea sure, you can restart the WIFI connection, but WHO wants to CONTINUALLY do that?????
Apple (or any curious iOS 6 user that wants to see my point), when this happens open up a browser before you reset, disconnect/reconnect WIFI ( I tried both safari and chrome ) and type type 74.125.227.144 (google) and then “go”. A google search page will come up and you will be able to execute a search. (of course any link you click on will not work as it is dependant on DNS resolution)
Non DNS traffic works so the issue is not the WIFI connection to the access point!
APPLE, FOCUS ON FIXING THIS DNS DATA ISSUE AND YOU WILL GET MANY PEOPLE OFF YOU BACK!!!!
I KNOW THIS IS NOT ALL OF THE PROBLEMS WITH iOS 6, BUT THIS IS A HUGE PROBLEM NOT BEING ABLE TO SURF OR GET DATA THE iOS 6 DEVICE IS REQUESTING!!!!!

  • My brand new iPod touch 4g cannot sync from iTunes 10.5

    Hi all,
Just bought a brand new iPod touch 4gen
And I try to set up a new iPod and it won't let me sync any music ,apps,or anything to the iPod
It only got one button available on the bottom which is revert.
When I click the button don't have any changes
And the apply button is grey color and not able to click.
When I try to sync my iPhone 3G it's work fine sync perfectly it make me so upset.
Can somebody please give me a solution thanks you.
My situation :iPod touch 4g with iOS 5
                        :iTunes 10.5

    Did you follow the instructions in the manuL;
    Setting up iPod touch
To set up and activate iPod touch, just turn it on and follow the onscreen instructions that step
you through the setup process, including:
    Connecting to a Wi-Fi network
    Â
Signing in with or creating a free Apple ID
    Â
    Setting up iCloud
    Â
Turning on recommended features such as Location Services and Find My iPod
    Â
    Activating iPod touch
    Â
You can also restore from an iCloud or iTunes backup during setup.
    13
Activation can be done over a Wi-Fi network. If you don’t have access to a Wi-Fi network, you can
connect iPod touch to your computer and finish activation using iTunes.
Connecting iPod touch to your computer
If you don’t have Wi-Fi access, you might need to connect iPod touch to your computer to
complete setup. You can also connect iPod touch to your computer to sync music, videos, and
other information with iTunes. You can also sync your content wirelessly. See “iCloud” on page 16
and “Syncing with iTunes” on page 17.
Connect iPod touch to your computer:  Use the provided Dock Connector to USB Cable.
Disconnect iPod touch from your computer:  Check to make sure a sync is not in progress, then
disconnect the cable. If a sync is in progress, first drag the slider on iPod touch to cancel.

  • IPod Touch Cannot Sync with iTunes

I just got back my iPod touch from an apple store, after i had a previous problem with it restoring but they fixed that problem. Now, when i try to sync my iPod with my itunes library i get tons of different error messages and it doesn't work. Sometimes i will get "The iPod "name of ipod" cannot be synced. The required disk cannot be found". If I click ok to that message, I get another error message saying "The iPod "name of iPod" cannot be synced. A folder was specified instead of a file." If I try to manually drag songs onto my iPod in itunes, nothing happens at all. At other times when I try to Sync it, I get another error message saying -6999. Now it says The Device Timed Out.
    Please help me :S
Also, if i click on like photos, movies or music tabs, it shows the music sign and "Canceling Sync" (on my ipod)

  • HT1386 iPhone 5 (iOS 7.1) cannot sync with itunes 11.1.5.

Both my iPhone and iTunes are updated, iOS 7.1 and iTunes 11.1.5. However, not only can they not wifi sync, when I plug in my iPhone, my iTunes doesn't respond. The iPhone tab did not pop up. When I go under "File" -> "Devices", nothing is there when my iPhone is plugged in. I want to sync my iPhone with iTunes, but I cannot do anything right now. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes, but that didn't change a thing. I restarted my laptop and my iPhone, but that didn't change a thing either. What can I do?

    Windows 8?

I found a resource that I feel has the best chance at isolating, if not resolving the issue.

  • Cannot sync with Itunes 7.4.31

i can sync my shuffle with my macbook, but i cannot do it with windows xp in 2 different PC, i tried the bat registry file thing, but the ipod keep giving me message that the "required disc cannot be found", i tried restoring to factory setting, if i tried to change the setting in the ipod with my PC, the itunes will hang, i cannot find any answers even with a clean installation of windows...

I hate to be redundant, but this is wierd. I've never had a problem syncing my shuffle (2nd gen)...
I get an error that says "Ipod cannot be synced. Hardware can not be found." I ran the diagnostic report in "help" and it said, "The iPod updater logging file cannot be found."
After restoring the shuffle a few times, i was able to upload almost all of my playlist, leaving about 150 MB empty, (although itunes said it was full) Since then I have not been able to add or replace any music.
Also I did what the help page said, to change the drive letter that its listed as and that didnt help. If anyone knows how to fix this, please help!
    thanks
