The last time I upgraded, I lost back and forward arrow icons and the return home icon. Furthermore, you no longer seem to support 1Password.

Sounds like the navigation items might have accidentally been removed from the toolbar. The toolbar can be customized pretty extensively, so it's not an uncommon mistake. Take a look at the Knowledge Base article [[Back and forward or other toolbar items are missing]]. It will show you how to restore the buttons.

Firefox opens with no address in the address bar and no back and forth functionality

This happens very often (not every time) I open Firefox: there is no address in the address bar (normally, I would have my homepage address) and the back and forth arrows do not work until I open a new tab. It's a very odd behavior that lasts for a while every time I open a new browser page and causes crashes sometimes... I have saved the error console message if you need to see it. Thanks!

Add-ons can sometimes cause odd behavior in the Firefox UI. If you have any installed, you can try disabling them and seeing if this resolves your issue. You can do so from Tools > Add-ons. I use my ipod for audible books downloads. In the past I have been able to move books back and forth from library to ipod according to what I was listening to. I can no longer retreive books in the library. Any suggestions?

I use my 6th generation Ipod strictly for Audible downloads. In the past, I have been able to move titles back and forth from the Ipod and my Itunes library, to control the amount books on the ipod. Recently, an exclamation mark has appeared next to the titles as I try to transfer to the ipod, and the book does not transfer. Any suggestions on how to regain access to my purchased library?

1. You did not get an error message telling you that your iPhoto library was getting full. You got a message telling you that your HD was getting full, right?
OS X needs about 10 gigs of hard drive space for normal OS operations - things like virtual memory, temporary files and so on.
Without this space your Mac will slow down as the OS hunts for space on the disk, files will be fragmented, also slowing things down, apps will crash and the risk of data corruption - that is damage to your files, photos, music - increases exponentially.
Your first priority is to make more space on that HD. Nothing else can be done until you do.
Purchase an external HD and move your Photos and Music to it. Both iPhoto and iTunes can run perfectly well with the Library on an external disk.
Your Library has been damaged from being run on an overfull disk.
How much free space on it now?

Can you move files back and forth between an iPad and a PC using iTunes?

If I read this article correctly, http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4094 I should be able to connect my iPad to my PC, fire up iTunes and then on the Apps tab in iTunes I should be able to click on an app, Pages for example and then just drag files onto the Pages Documents column from a Windows Explorer window.
This is great. I was hoping to use DropBox but it is such a hassle I don't know why people are so thrilled with DropBox on iPad. If I can just move files back and forth using iTunes that should be fairly easy. I wish there was a way to just upload my files to iCloud from my PC but the iCloud control panel app for Windows only seems to connect Outlook, Photostream and Bookmarks. I want to be able to just carry my iPad and not have to deal with a computer.
I thought that they said that you didn't need to have a computer to have an iPad. I guess if you have a computer and then GET an iPad its a different story, unless you have a Mac of course.

I still need to do some trial and error testing with DropBox and my iPad. But can I link my iPad to my DropBox account so that I can always see the files on DropBox when I open Pages on my iPad? I just want one place to store my documents, and iCloud doesn't seem to be up to the task when it comes to opening a fil;e, editing it and then saving it back to iCloud. I just want a networked storage location that works like a networked drive on my LAN.
I realize that hollywood and the music industry are up in arms about file sharing on the Cloud which is why so many things are made more difficult than they need to be.

How can I use Mac OS 10.4.11 and 10.5.5 back and forth?

I installed Mac OS 10.5.5 onto my G4 Sawtooth, which is running on an upgrade processor at 1.3 GHz and 2 GB RAM. The machine also has been running with Mac OS 10.4.11. I love both Mac OSs. But it is cumbersome to restart the machine back and forth. Is there anyway that I do not have to restart the machine for switching the Mac OSs?

I'll check with OWC and see what they say. I have an ACARD 6880M AEC Controller attached to two internal HD. It caused two Maxtor HD,on e after the other, click-to-death. Since that, I removed the ACARD and have been using one HD without any more "clicking" noise. I posted in the thread below about my experience. Nobody had similar experience. Nevertheless, if OWC feels that ACARD can work with both Mac OS 10.5 and 10.4 at same time, I may consider to put the ACARD back and place another HD in and see if it works.

I am using Captivate 4. And I am wondering if it is better to use just one project or to jump back and forth?
I have one main project and rather than make one big project, I wondered about jumping off to small projects and returning to the main one.
I was trying to figure out the suggestion of jumping back to slide 10 and jump off to another project and then back to slide 20.
Do the projects have to be published to see this work?
I am just learning about Captivate so I am unsure of the best practices.

It's not that easy in Captivate projects to jump to a particular slide midway through another project. Captivate is set up by default to just launch each project from the first slide.
There have been workarounds published on this forum that allowed jumping into the middle of another project, but they can require some complex coding in either JavaScript or ActionScript.

IPhone: Using embedded QT movies that either Loop or Loop Back and Forth

Hi to everyone,
I'm working on a very simple iPhone app:
it has several buttons that launch different QuickTime movies embedded in the application, that will either Loop or Loop Back and Forth.
The desired looping behaviour is already set within QuickTime itself (those settings are available in QuickTime's View menu).
So far it doesn't seem to work, as the iPhone's SDK doesn't seem to recognize these QuickTime settings of Loop or Loop Back and Forth.
I've been trying to find advanced documentation on the matter, with no luck.
Does anyone knows if it's possible to create an iPhone application that has embedded QuickTime movies that either Loop or Loop Back and Forth?
If it is possible to do so, can you please post some code (or links) explaining how to proceed?
If the feature is not currently supported, does anyone knows if it will eventually be supported by Apple (maybe in a future SDK revision)?
While I don't know the entire context the SDK engineering team has to contend with, it seems to me it should be rather simple for Apple's iPhone SDK to simply accept the settings already put in place inside a QuickTime movie.

Well, my programmers have come back to me and the news is not good.
The QTMovieLoopsAttribute is not supported in the SDK's QT Kit.
I'll now call it SDK's *QuickTime Kit Lite*, if you don't mind.
*QuickTime Kit Lite*, the key audio/video toolbox available for development of applications on the iPhone through the SDK, provides a single option:
a Play / Stop button.
The only other thing available (I think) is the option to hide the play/stop controller. That's it.
Apparently, there are several unofficial, private frameworks that give access to lower-level QuickTime functions and that may provide a way to actually loop videos, but chances are that an app using these unofficial frameworks would get rejected by Apple upon submission for the store.
I'm still waiting for more info and the final word from my programmers, but from the looks of it, this is going to be a show-stopper shortcoming of QT Kit Lite, as far as my project is concerned.
I'm probably going to have to fold my project and wait (hope) for an eventual upgrade to the SDK's QT Kit.
By the way, does anyone knows if there is a way to communicate with Apple and request new features for inclusion in future revisions of the SDK?
Upgrading the QuickTime Kit librairies to include the video Loop and Loop Back and Forth Attributes would be my first (and only) request.

Thanks everyone! Felt a complete twit. Went to view, customize toolbars and then dragged the arrows back into the toolbar. No idea how we lost 'em though.

The box {cannot use app in safe mode} would you like to temporarily switch, I press continue and it goes to please log in, and these two boxs go back and forth not allowing me to continue the game like farmville etc.

the dialogue box says {we cannot continue with this app in a secure mode. Would you like to temporarily disable to an unsecured mode and you will be able to use the app at your next log in.} I push the "Continue" button, not the cancel button and it tells me to {Please log in, you are not logged in}. I will then log in and the original window as mentioned above comes back again. These two boxes go back and forth when I try to continue in any of the games on Facebook.

I had just got it back from the shop last Friday. It was there for around two weeks. It was a faulty GPU (when you see garbled display that's consisten when booting it the GPU). I have a strong feeling it's related to the Lion install 10.7 or 10.7.1 and may be similar to reports of Mac laptops overheating. It's good the GPU is removable, it might have taken 3 week or a month if it had been the whole board.
It's a blessing in disguise though as with all or most cases because I also got to have the LCD replaced for excessive backlight bleeding (in my opinion), the dead pixel from the previous LCD isn't there anymore (though under the glass there're some smudges but nothing crucial). The backlight bleeding is still the same though in my opinion but at least it's new.
It's a great thing I bought Applecare. I didn't buy it for the iPhone because that's more durable (my iPhone 3G's 3 years old now and it's still solid. Although there are scratches and a crack at the back at the bottom, got sqeezed under the table I think when I sat). I think Applecare is a good recommend for things that get hot like desktop and laptop Macs(are the iOS considered Macs btw?) which are twice or thrice the price of iOS devices.

I have had to drop out of Safari and go to Chrome to have arrows back and forth on a web page....
They must be there, but where?

This report is displayed on a big screen TV and I want to shift the images back and forth every time it refreshes to prevent possible burn-in on the screen.
I see you can use a formula on the Horizontal position of objects, and I think a variable that gets added 10 and then subtracted by 10 every refresh could be used to display the objects in different positions each iteration, but I don't know how to do that
in SSRS. I have read up on variables, and I think I need a global variable, but not sure how to update it on each refresh iteration.
I read the links on using Silverlight to shift things, but that adds a whole other level of complexity.
I could even do something in the DB and then pull that into the formula field if needed.
