I don't have much space in my ipod, can I put music in the Cloud for my entertainment?

I don't have much space on my iphone so I bought some extra space in the cloud so I could use the space in the phone for business. My question is can I use some of the cloud space for entertainment, I want to record some music in it?

The only way you can use iCloud to free up space on your device is by subscribing to iTunes Match. If you do, your music library would be available through iCloud without having to store all of it on your phone. (See http://www.apple.com/itunes/itunes-match/.)
Music and other purchased media is also availble to redownload from the iTunes store (in many countries), however it's best to keep it in your iTunes library if you're going to delete it from your device because it may no longer be available to redownload if you rely on the iTunes store to "store" your purchased media. If you purchased the extra storage by mistake thinking you could use it for this purpose, you may be able to get a refund by calling the Apple online store (1-800-MYAPPLE in the U.S.).

Thank you for providing the details of the issue you are experiencing when trying to sync your iPod touch. I recommend the following steps for the issue you described:
Symptoms
"iPod touch cannot be synced because there is not enough free space to hold all of the items in the iTunes Library (additional space required)."
Resolution
Try disconnecting and reconnecting your device, then syncing again to solve this issue.
Orphaned files may remain on your iOS device if it is physically disconnected while syncing music, podcasts, videos, or photos. This can prevent iTunes from syncing the iOS device on subsequent sync sessions. When this happens, the Capacity indicator in iTunes may report a large amount of "Other" disk usage for the iOS device. To resolve this issue:
Turn off the music or photo sync option in iTunes for the device.
Click Apply to sync the changes to the device.
Turn the music and photo sync options for the device on again.
Click Apply again to try to sync the device to iTunes.
If the 'Not enough free space' alert appears, continue to step 5.
Turn off the automatic syncing functions for the iOS device. To do this:
Select the iOS device from the iTunes window and click the Summary tab.
Deselect "Automatically sync when this device is connected" and select the "Sync only checked songs and videos" checkbox.
Click Apply to sync the changes to the device.
Reduce the amount of data that is being synced to the device and resync the device. For example, if syncing your Music library exceeds the memory capacity of the device, choose "Selected playlists" to transfer rather than "All songs and playlists" under the Music tab in iTunes.
If the 'Not enough free space' alert appears, continue to step 6.
Restore using iTunes.

If you have iTunes Match, and your music is in your Match library, you can access it from iCloud on all your devices, provided they are signed into your iTunes Match account. Make sure you keep a backup of your music somewhere though as the match process isnt' perfect and you may find that some of your iTunes Match music isn't exactly the same as the original (see https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-4112).
The best way to back up your photos is to import them to your computer as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083. If you are out of room on your Mac, get an inexpensive external drive to save your photos on.

O already have a really old ipod and just had a new one which i have registed today but when i have downloaded the itunes app onto my new laptop i cannot see the new ipod in the menu to update the music i have just purchsed.
Furthermore it seems to have put the new album into my old itunes so once i connect my old ipod i assume it will want to put it on there. I bought a new one as my old ipod is only 4gb and there is no space on it.

Registering an iPod or any other iDevice for warranty and support has nothing to do with the device appearing in iTunes. For what silly reason would you expect that to occur????
Honestly, it sounds like you have no clue how to use iTunes or sync media to the devices. Might be a good idea to read the User's Guide for the iPod to understand how to use it.

As per Apple instructions, I moved my iPhoto library to an external hard drive so that I could free up space on my full iMac. However, I was not told the last step in the process -- How do I get the iPhoto library off my iMac so I free up that memory?

And after deleting the old Library, you should start up iPhoto while holding down the Option key in order to force iPhoto to let you select your iPhoto Library that is on your external hard drive. If you start up iPhoto the usual way, it will just create a new, blank iPhoto Library in your /users/yourusername/Pictures folder on your iMac's internal hard drive.

How do I delete songs from the iCloud when I don't use Music Match? Somehow, songs I don't want just automatically add themselves to my iPhone after I've manually added only songs I want to be on it... What is the format of your songs?

My hard drive is getting consumed as I sit and watch. I don't have much on my computer, but it tells me the disk space is full.

If you can see it disappearing before your eyes, it is likely to be some runaway process. Possibly a log filling up.
Open the Console application and click to system.log and at the bottom, see if there is some process repeating endlessly.
Post the last several lines of that log if you think it is relevant. Don't post the entire log though, just the end bit.

Our desktop still runs Tiger, so I purchased the 3rd generation iPad with 64 gb thinking it had had plenty of room to backup my iPhone photos. I used a camera connection kit and transferred about 1100 old photos from my camera roll on my iPhone to my ipad. I then deleted pictures from my iPhone and now my camera roll has only 357 photos. iCloud only give so much space for free storage, then if you exceed the limit of 5gb you have to pay for additional storage.
