I don't want to lose all my data...Can someone walk me through???
OK, so I got the 8800 (actually 8820) about November of 2007.Love it!! Wish it had a camera but not bothered. For over the last year and 5 months I've stored everyone's birthday, addresses, cell, home, work, email, notes, etc and it's so great. I got stuff on my calendar for next April.
I just got an Acer laptop with Office 2007 and Outlook, Contacts, Calendar. I've never been a "syncher" and right now I'm taking baby-steps, but I've got a PC 100 miles away, a laptop at home and my BB everywhere. The very FIRST and easiest thing I want to do is simply put all my addresses, birthdays, phone numbers I've gathered over 15 months and put them on my laptop in Outlook 2007. I've downloaded a DesktopManager and I just need to know that it won't wipe it clear. Everything I read is from PC-BB very little from BB-PC.
I lost 2000 songs on an iphod because I hit synch and it synched alright with nothing! I've got 150 contacts on my BB and 15 on my new Acer, but I know there's a way to put them all on there.
If this has been addressed post a link or walk me through ez style then will get to the other PC, transfering via Bluetooth, how to work apps on a PC.....this is just step one.

I can provide the steps with pictures, i can imagine you have a new version of Blackberry Desktop Manager ( only have different interface, but the procedure is the same)
Be sure you have the BlackBerry Desktop Software installed on your desktop computer already.
Start the BlackBerry Desktop Manager.
Connect your BlackBerry with your computer via USB.
Click on Synchronize.
Activate the Synchronize organizer data checkbox.
Click on the Configuration tab and click on the Configure synch… button.
Select all data checkboxes you want your BlackBerry being synchronized to.
By selecting the data you have to select the program that stores your data on your desktop computer. As I am using Outlook from Microsoft I have selected this program. But you can select another one as well. It just depends on the program you are running.
That’s it. Now go back and you can select the Synchronize now button at the synchronize dialog.
If you want your BlackBerry being synchronized every time you connect it to your desktop computer you better selectSynchronize the items selected above… checkbox.

I was loading the latest software update to "fix bugs and security issues" and my phone went into "recovery mode". I've never seen this before. I plugged it into iTunes as shown on the screen of my phone and it says "Iphone in recovery mode detected" and suggested resetting the phone to factory settings. Sorry, whatever data you had on your phone has been wipe off already, since your phone is in recovery mode.
You will need to restore your phone. Then if you have a backup, you can choose that backup to restore from, if you have no backup, your only option is to sync contents from iTunes. -
've just upgraded to latest version of Firefox 4 and my Mac is only OSX.10.4.11 and now it won't open. How do I downgrade and get old Firefox back. Don't want to lose all my bookmarks. Why was I able to install in the first place. Very frustrated!!
You can get the latest version of Firefox 3.6 from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html
You can trash Firefox 4.0 then re-install Firefox 3.6, it will use your existing bookmarks, passwords etc

My iPod touch is off and wont turn on because it has the itunes logo and a usb pointing to it, so when i looked it up online, it says i have to restore it but i don't want to because i don't want to lose all my pictures. What can I do?
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

If you backed up the iPad before you tried to update, you can restore the iOS and then restore from the backup. If you don't have a backup, there is nothing that you can do about it now.
You will have to restore the iPad in order to make it operational again and you will lose all of your data. If you don't sync with iTunes and cannot recover your media again that way, you can download most purchased content again for free as long as you use the same Apple ID. -
I tried to do the 7.0.4 update on my iphone 5 and now it has the itunes logo stuck on screen and when I plug into itunes it states my phone needs to be restored. I don't want to lose all my stuff.... ideas?

Yes, it's a POP account. I kinda thought that the old messages would be safe in mailboxes "On My Mac," but since it's an irrevocable choice, I was reluctant to pull the trigger. However, the suggestion above from keg55 relieves my concerns on that score; I'll make a backup copy before I delete the account just to be on the safe side.

I have the i phone 3G version 3.1.3. I am currently upgrading to the i phone 4 GS and want to transfer all data from old phone!

After upgrade, attempted to open iPhoto to upload pictures from camera. Message says need to upgrade library and that after upgrade previous library will be unreadable. In holding pattern for now-don't want to lose all 4K prev pictures in iphoto library. Anyone have same or similar problem?
gotitans, I think you have an entirely different problem than we are discussing in this thread.
You should open your own thread, and you should describe your problems in more detail. For example, what type of Mac do you have, what operating system does it run, what version of iPhoto did you have running before the upgrade,and just what sort of upgrade did you do (hardware, operating system, iPhoto, something else)?
My best guess from just that message is that you did a hardware upgrade, and your version of iPhoto is too old to run on the new hardware.
ntgerh64, it would probably be good if you gave us the same details I asked of gotitans. I was assuming you were talking about upgrading OS X to Mavericks and then iPhoto to 9.5 or 9.5.1. -

Assuming you are in the U.S. the easiest way would be to just buy the T-Mobile iPhone 5s from a retail Apple store or the Online Apple store.
THose are unlocked. and all you would need to do is insert your own sim card into the phone.

Hi, one of my daughters friends tried to access her ipod causing it to become disabled; i do not want her to lose all her photos, she accesses my itunes account which is on ICLOUD, will she lose all her data - can this be fixed? I do not think it has been synced with a computer before.

If you previously synced to the computer then you may be able to recover use of the iPod without erasing the iPod by following the instructions here:
Disabled Recovery-must use syncing computer.
Otherwise y will have to restore and thus erase the iPod
You can restore from backup
If not in backup then:

Yes. Your data are stored in your hard drive, and the battery is not required for the hard drive to keep its data.
However, you may want to google for information about how to store a battery for an extended period - "winter" is a long time, and batteries do run down when left sitting on a shelf. -
i was updating my nano ipod. deleting tunes making new playlist. i got a warning the day before that i didn't have tunes checked and they wouldn't sync. i didn't do anything about that since i was syncing at that point. then today i was doing some maintance on my itunes. and when i tried to sync it said it recognize my ipod which i have been using for a year. i tried checking all the songs and it came and said i didn't have enough memory to store. they were already stord so what the hey.?then a question comes up and says do i want to restore factory settrings? i'm afraid to do anything i don't want to lose my music . but now i can't even open my itunes. what to do and what did i do to break my itunes. help?i'm not a novice but not that savey on all things computers so make it simple please.

Computer crashed. Need to transfer music from IPOD to new computer. All support found requires transfer from old computer. Not possible. Can I transfer music from IPOD to new computer. Don't want to lose the music I've got.

I just connected my iPod after opening iTunes to make a playlist and repeatedly have gotten the message that 'iTunes has detected an iPod that might be corrupted." I can either disconnect and try again, which I've done multiple times to no avail, or restore. I don't want to lose the dozens of playlists, so do I have any options that anyone knows of?

If you have a 3G you cannot update beyond iOS 4.2.1. The 3G is over 4 years old an was discontinued over 2 1/2 years ago. You need the latest ios to run the latest versions of some apps. If you have a 3GS you can update.
If your phone is not responding, reset it by pressing and holding down both the home button ad lock/ sleep button simultaneously until the Apple logo appears.
