After upgrade, attempted to open iPhoto to upload pictures from camera. Message says need to upgrade library and that after upgrade previous library will be unreadable. In holding pattern for now-don't want to lose all 4K prev pictures in iphoto library. Anyone have same or similar problem?

gotitans, I think you have an entirely different problem than we are discussing in this thread.
You should open your own thread, and you should describe your problems in more detail. For example, what type of Mac do you have, what operating system does it run, what version of iPhoto did you have running before the upgrade,and just what sort of upgrade did you do (hardware, operating system, iPhoto, something else)?
My best guess from just that message is that you did a hardware upgrade, and your version of iPhoto is too old to run on the new hardware.
ntgerh64, it would probably be good if you gave us the same details I asked of gotitans. I was assuming you were talking about upgrading OS X to Mavericks and then iPhoto to 9.5 or 9.5.1.

Cloud programs do not use serial numbers... you log in to your paid Cloud account to download & install & activate... you MAY need to log out of the Cloud and restart your computer and log back in to the Cloud for things to work

All my content is still on my iPod classic but my external HDD quit and is not accessible. I am wondering if I can put some of my content onto my PC(my iPod has more storage than my PC hahaha pretty bad) This is the PC I used with iTunes with so I don't think licensing is an issue- But can I upload back to my PC without iTunes wiping clean my iPod because there is no more content on PC/HDD? I know I may need to send my HDD away to to a Data Recovery Specialist. But if I can save a couple hundred bucks to couple thousand bucks I would prefer this method... mostly worried about photos- can't download these again. Next time I will buy a second back up.

You'll need to get yourself a new drive big enough to hold all the data you are going to recover and then reading the tip B-rock has pointed you to. Read it carefully, it should guide you through the steps to recover as much as possible. You are wise to be worried, just plugging in the iPod and clicking sync isn't good enough but it should be possible to recover to most if not all of it.

Hello. I hope someone can help. I have an iPod Touch 8G that I am trying to keep the music playlists from, adding them to what is on my Mac. I had work done on my Mac, and as a result, the original playlists in iTunes were deleted. I have recreated them using the Music Library, a long arduous process of thousands of songs! I would really like to have both, so I could manually combine playlists. How do I do this, not losing either set of playlists?
I enabled Home Sharing and iCloud.

My boyfriend's laptop died yesterday and I want to sync his phone with my mac (and back-up all of his data) but I don't want to lose all of his apps, photo's, etc whilst doing so. Is this possible?

My boyfriend's laptop died yesterday and I was hoping to be able to back up all of his data (photos, contacts, so forth) from his iPhone 4 onto my mac, but I don't know how to do it without completely erasing all of his data? Is it possible? If so, how can I do it?

Just an FYI, your purchases from iTunes are associated to your Apple ID. So Apps, Music, Videos, etc, that were purchased on the App Store/iTunes are freely available to him when using his Apple ID even after restoring (ie: by going to the Purchased tab in iTunes, etc). You can sync his contacts and photos to iCloud (or other free services).

This is why it said on your phone, before it started to update to ensure you have backed up. There is no way arround the restore. This issue normall comes from the iPhione loosing charge during update or the update being corrupted during the download. The software your iPhone is having right now is inoperable and needsto be reinstalled. You'll be able to redownload all your Apps for free again, should they still be available in the appstore. But all the rest of your data must be on your Computer or iCloud, or you to load them onto your phone again.

I know OSX 10.9 Mavericks introduced a power saving feature called App Nap which is meant to slow down applications that it determins are inactive (or when minimized). This would mostly likely cause problems if you're dynamically linking After Effects comps to your timeline or sometimes exporting to Media Encoder.
Try disabling App Nap for all your Adobe App files...
Go to your Applications folder
Go into individual Adobe app folders (ie. Adobe Premiere Pro CC)
Right-click on the Adobe app file (ie. Adobe Premiere Pro CC.app) and select Get Info
When the info window opens up, add a checkmark beside "Prevent App Nap"
Restart the application
This fixed all my performance issues.

Given that the file is selected then the next possibility is that you're exporting two files with the same name. When you do this the export breaks down as the second file would overwrite the first. Check the filenames.

You are right, but how could i send it to Apple? when the phone company first replaced my iphone they had in stock alots of iphones and they just sent mine back to Apple and gave me a new one, so all i did is to give them my phone, but now how could i sent it to Apple? and i cant send it by myself, and the store wont do that, its a lost for them.. so sending it to Apple wasnt an option from the begining.
and for the record, i dont think the store where i bought it is an authorized shop.. its just a store who boughts phone's from Apple in a low price and sells it in much more money..

Problem with the Mac OS Mavericks recovery

I recently purchased Macbook pro and updated OS X Mavericks on it. I also installed Windows 8.1 on it as i am a developer and also a student in University i need to work on different OS. So i used Boot Camp to install Windows 8.1 on it. Recently i tried to create a partition on MacBook using Windows Disk Management function where i used Shrinking Volume and i actually shrinked the volume that was containing the BootCamp (i.e. Windows), I was using Windows for my work and i was shifting to use my XCode and found out that Mac OS is not avaialble to boot. I could access the whole drive from Windows and it stated everything alright. Now i used Recovery partition to get the OS Mavericks back, I already installed it on my old drive formatting it and i was trying to see that all features are working or not and came to know that find my Mac is no more working . I got an error when i clicked on details that "Some Configuration,such as software or hardware RAID, do not support recovery partiiton and can't be used with Find My Mac. ". Can anyone please let me know why did i got this problem and i used the DIsk Utility to check all the drives but all were good condition.
Please reply to this post as soon as possible as i am working on XCode for my final year project so dont want to lose all my data.

Thanks for the advice. It partially worked, only fixed the node structure problem. I updated to 10.4.10, still no joy. Repairing the mac os x disk from the utility again wasn't doing much.
It may seem obvious, but i was just experimenting and i replaced the old actual 'installer' program located in utilities with a fresh copy from the mac installer disc and its all working now!

Try loading the same video in different browsers (Firefox, Chrome, Safari and Internet Explorer are your best options). If the issue is across all of them, make sure you've downloaded the latest version of Flash at http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
If it's still stopping after that...Do the tried and tested method for everything: reset your router.
