If you have a backup, you can retrieve the camera roll pictures, app data and some other items. This will explain what is contained in the backup.

  • HT3302 I dropped my Ipad and the color is distorted. All other features are working just fine. How do I fix this?

I dropped my Ipad and it fell on its edge. All features work. However the color display is totally distorted. What can I do.

I just did this when I dropped my iPad only about 12 inches onto the floor.  After consulting with Apple and being told I would need to replace my screen or get a replacement iPad both for $250, I decide I had nothing to lose by trying my idea.  While the iPad was off, I gently but firmly tapped each side on a hard surface.  I then turned it back on...and magic!  All the correct colors were restored.  I think that the drop must have loosened the metal back/sides or things shifted internally.  We'll see if this is a permanent fix, but it seems to be fine!

Turn it off and put it in a bag of rice for 5-7 days.  You may get lucky.

The genius bar folks will be glad to help...and if you have backed up your iPhone in iCloud they will restore the backup to the replacement iPhone for you while you wait.
Call or email for an appointment, you don't want to add to your frustration by standing around waiting for someone to get free to help you.

You're going to need a new phone unless you are very lucky. Take it to an Apple Store.

  • I dropped my phone in the water!!!!!!

Please help me I dropped my phone in the water.

Hobby Stores have a product called silica something used to dry flowers.  It looks like salt but is not!  What I bought came in a carton looking like a 1qt milk carton.  First: with battery out and the phone open, wrap it in a paper towel and tape just to hold it in place.  The tiny beads will get into buttons, etc if you don't cover it.  Then put the still open but wrapped phone in a small mixing type bowl large enough to cover the phone with an inch or two of the beads.  Then pour the beads in along the side of the phone trying not to hit it and fill it at least 1" (more is better) over the phone.  Set it on a shelf somewhere and let it sit for 3 days.  When you take it out be careful not to tear the paper towel.  You do not want to get beads inside your phone.
    Hope this works for you.

I dropped my ipad and the screen went blank.  I cannot get it to come back on.

Try a reboot by holding both the power and home buttons until the apple logo appears, ignore the red slider if that appears.  If that does not work you need to take the iPad to an Apple store genius bar to have it evaluated by the technicians.

  • I dropped my ipad and the background is red?

I dropped my ipad and the bakgroud is red, still works but has this re ting to it? How do I get the background back to normal?

Some people have reported smacking the back of their iPads to correct the colors. I have no firsthand experience with this method.

  • I drop my cell in the water and it show me no sim . i buy onother sim but the seim it show me no sim . what can i do ?

i need help i drop my cell in the water and it show me no sim i buy a new sim. but the seim it show me no sim . what can i do?

aredina, It's disheartening to learn that your phone was dropped. When a device is exposed to water, it's very common to receive error messages such as "No SIM". It sounds like the SIM card slot or copper readers may be damaged. Have you covered your phone with insurance http://vz.to/o9N7Nb? If so you can file a claim, here  http://bit.ly/07CrqPK. We're happy to examine your phone for you at any of our local stores http://bit.ly/3SdsA , as well.

  • I dropped my iPhone in the water and the touchscreen stopped working.

I dropped my iPhone in the water and the touchscreen stopped working. After drying it out for a few days I had the LCD replaced, but the touchscreen is still not working. What do I do?

Why don't you ask that question of the person who performed the uncertified service?

  • Dropped my iPhone in the water.

I dropped my iPhone in the water a few days ago with a case on,however, the case was not waterproof certified. Although my phone still works, ive been having some problems with it. Like it not wanting to charge random times and getting stuck on dock connector mode. The LCI indicator is red aswell.I have Apple Care though. I was wondering if I took it to an apple store if they would give me a new one or not.

Using the hair drier, even on cold, was a big mistake it just forces the moisture farther into the iPhone.
In your original post you said it happened a few days ago, now you say 3 months ago? That is more that a few days. Regardless the moisure sensor has probably been triggered and my answer remains the same.

  • HT201210 Ok so I'm trying to update my iPad, and it keeps "timing out." I got to the actual update process, and it failed and asked me to restore my iPad, but I just can't lose all of my apps and photos! Someone please help.

Ok so I'm trying to update my iPad, and it keeps "timing out." I got to the actual update process, and it failed and asked me to restore my iPad, but I just can't lose all of my apps and photos! I payed for a lot of my apps, and my photos are just too important. Someone please help!

If rhe apps and photos are that important you made sure that you took the steps in order to keep them safe in an event like this didn't you?
You did backup the iPad before you decided to update the iPad correct?
And you did transfer all of your apps and other purchases  into iTunes before you decided to update correct?
If you did, just restore the iPad and then restore from the backup at the end of fhe process and follow that with a sync with iTunes and you will lose nothing,
Now if you didn't do any of the precautionary steps ....

  • I recently backed up my iPhone using iCloud and now can not get my camera roll onto my new iPhone or my Mac.  Did I lose all the photos from my old phone?

I recently picked up a new iPhone6.  Before i handed in my old phone(iphone5), I backed it up using iCloud.
Now I can't seem to get the photos from my old camera roll onto my new phone or my Mac.  Did I lose all
the photos from my old phone?

    1. Create a backup of your iPad to iTunes on your computer or to iCloud
    2. Transfer any and all photos & videos on your iPad to your computer.
    3. Erase the iPad and restore the iPhone's iCloud backup to the device.
    4. Transfer any and all photos & videos on your iPad to your computer.
    5. Restore the iPad backup you reated in step #1 back to the iPad.

  • TS1967 I gave my iMac to a recycler and bought a new iPad.  Did I lose all my iTunes songs?

I gave away my iMac to a recycler.  Did I lose all my iTunes songs?

Your music will only be where you put it.
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer.  Did you fail to do this?
The ipad is not a replacement for a computer.  It is simply a large ipod touch.
If for some reason you have failed to keep a copy of your music, not good, you can redownload some itunes purchases in some countries:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
