  • I factory reset my mac but it not accept my id?

I factory reset my mac ,but wehen i put my id it's not work,,,,why.

It means that Apple ID that you are trying to use wasn't used to purchase OS X Mavericks. If you have multiple Apple ID's then try with other Apple ID. If you have access to another mac computer then Open App Store and purchase OS X Mavericks (which btw is for free).

It will be necessary for you to install Lightroom from an upgrade installer. An upgrade requires the original serial number from the version that you first purchased, as well as the serial number for the upgrade. The upgrade serial number, by itself, will not work.

  • Factory resetting my mac without the original disk

    Hello community!
I would like to factory reset my MacBook Pro from mid 2010 with OS X v10.6 but I do not have the original installation CDs. So here's two amazing questions:
    1) Is there any way I can get the CD's, either by burning them using a recovery partition or either by Apple itself (and the price it'll cost)?
    2) If not, or because it'll cost me too much to buy the CDs from Apple, is there any way to factory reset without the CDs? Also, would I need the account information of the administrator account? Because I don't have these information (not that it's a stolen MacBook but I just bought it from a random guy for really cheap). Also, if it's possible, how do I reinstall the bundled applications that came with the MacBook such as iLife?
Thank you guys for responding as fast as you can.

iLife comes in a separate DVD.
I have not seen that the main system install DVD restore anything but the OS. In the modern days of the Lions, when you reinstall a Mac you can download the iLife apps from the App Store if you are entitled to them (i.e., the Mac you have registered to your AppleID came with them). Don't know for older systems (didn't use iLife back then).

  • No memory left, help me factory reset my mac air

So checked my memory today and it says i have ~500MB free. unfortunately 100Gigs of it is being used by other and i don't understand what it is. Im ASSUMING my games (World of warcraft and League of Legends) is a fair chunk of that because none of the other categories exceed 30gigs which is (roughly) the size of WoW.
I purchased a 1TB external not too long ago and was originally just going to keep big files on it when I'm not using them. However seeing as i only have 500MB left I would like to just put everything on my external, factory restore my mac, then just go through what i NEED/WANT on my mac and just bring it over. I would just like a little bit of help through this process as I'm not 100% sure of anything i might be overlooking. this should work right?
Also I've never used time machine but when i plugged in my external it asked if i wanted to use time machine for it and i clicked yes because I'm assuming this is basically what I'm trying to do, back up everything on my external, but then again i have no knowledge of time machine so I'm not entirely sure if this is what i want. Is it going to just put everything on my external, then when i restore it will it just bring back everything from the external and put it on my macs internal drive? because... thats the complete opposite of what I'm trying to do.
Anyways, I could really use some help. Big thanks in advance

Freeing space on your Mac OS X startup disk
I think you may be confusing memory (RAM) with storage space.
To see how much RAM is installed, click the Apple  top left in your screen. From the drop down menu click:  About This Mac
For storage space. Click your Apple menu  top left in your screen. From the drop down menu click About This Mac > More Info > Storage
Make sure there's at least 15% free disk space.

  • Factory reset for Mac book pro 2011 with OSX Maverick

I have a Mac book Pro March April 2011 Model and originally it came with OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard  as operating system. Then when OS X Lion came up I upgraded it and now I have OSX Maverick as my operating system. Now I wish to reset the laptop to Factory settings with Maverick as OS. I did Command + R and reinstalled the OS X Maverick. This only reset the OS-X however this not erase any of my apps or any of my other documents. How can I achieve that. All I wish to do it reset my laptop with factory settings but with OS X Maverick.

Restoring it to factory settings will erase Mavericks and install Snow Leopard; to do this, insert the Mac OS X install DVD, restart with the C key held down, use the Disk Utility to erase the internal drive, and install the OS.
If desired, you can restart into the recovery partition and use the Disk Utility from there instead, but this isn't an actual factory restore, and the computer can't be sold with a Mac OS X version newer than 10.6.8 on it(or 10.7.5 if you used the Lion thumbdrive to upgrade).

So i have a 2009 10.5.8 osx mac book pro , problem is a friend gave it to me whos long gone and is the factory owner or whatever you call the '"master".
I dont know the master password and cant download adobe Cant update software without their password. So i'd like to completley wipe out everything as if I just bought the computer brand new.... problem is i dont have any of the disks and keep in mind i cant really download anything at all because this thing ***** so bad...... please help

Duplicate installation disks can be ordered from Apple customer service.  You will have to provide them with the MBP serial number and there is a charge.
    Ciao.

  • Factory restoring my mac.

My mac is running kinda slow. It takes like 40 seconds to load iPhoto. I have it backed up to time capsule and I was wondering if I factory reset my mac and of its been reset... restore it from time capsule... 1st... will I lose any of my stuff or settings and 2 will that make it faster?
    Thanks

You can always erase drive and install fresh OS X, however there might be better ways to resolve this problem. Check this user tip and follow instructions:

  • Factory Rest of Mac OS with No OS CD

How do i factory reset a Mac with OS 10.5.8 and wipe everything. I have no install CD.

You must use the computer's original disks to perform a factory reset. If you don't have those, phone Apple Support and order replacements.
If you have a retail installer newer than the Mac, you can perform an Erase & Install from it but won't have iLife afterwards unless otherwise noted.

  • Restore Mountain Lion of a USB After factory resetting MacBook?

I have mountain lion in a Dmg file on my mac and plan on putting the Dmg on a usb.
I want to factory reset my mac, due to alot of small problems.
I was wondering, after you factory reset your mac and wiped the disc, then you go back to the menu with four options, One of the options says "re-install a new copy of OSX" . Usually, most people would go ahead and click that, and download the purchased Mountain Lion from there App Store account. The catch is i cant use the app store account that i got mountain lion off, but i still have Mountain Lion in a dmg, so what my question is...
Can/how you install a copy of mountain lion from a USB/portable hard drive without logging into App Store (and downloading it again) immediatley after a factory reset?
    Thanks

What do you mean you have ML in a DMG file? Is the file you have the InstallESD.dmg? If so then all you need is to follow the link that Eric provided for Lion Disk Maker. Use that little utility along with the dmg and you'll have a bootable USB thumb drive with what ever version of ML you have.
Or simply use Disk Utility and use the restore tab and restore the dmg file to a USB thumb drive (8GB). Make sure you format the thumb drive as Mac OS Exteneded-Journaled with the GUID partition table.

Backup any data you deem important. Insert the installer DVD that came with your MacBook. Restart the laptop and hold down the 'C' key. Progress past the language selection screen until you get to the second screen. Select Disk Utility from the Utilities Menu. Click on the topmost icon in the left hand side bar, click on the Partition tab. Select 1 Partition and select Mac OS Extended (Journaled) for the format. Now click Apply. This will erase everything on that drive. When it's done quit out of Disk Utility which should take you back to the Installer Assistant. Follow the on-screen prompts to re-install the Operating System.
    HTH?

My daughter reset her Mac book Pro to the factory settings by her doing this did we loose all the pictures and stuff that was on the computer before

If by resetting to factory settings you mean she erased the drive and reinstalled the operating system, OS X, then yes all data thatwas on it is gone. That is why apple included time machine so you can make backups of your data.

  • Mac Factory Reset

I am almost in tears, I am sick, I have the flu. Yesterday I was using my 13" Macbook Pro with Retina Display, no problem what so ever! Today, I am sick, I am tired and I need to work on my homework assignement, I open my Mac and everything seems to have done a factory reset. I was having technical difficulties with iCloud and this weekend I meant to bring my laptop to the Apple store so that they could help me. I have tried turning off my computer's power button and the screen goes black. I turn it back on and it's the same. Anybody know how to undo a factory reset? Please?

Ok, figured it out, turns out someone was logged in as guest user and didn't sign out. Anyone who has simiilar problems try this
Go under the apple button (at the top of screen) and verify that someone isn't logged in as guest user.
