I forgot my iPod touch's passcode.
I have tried restoring my iPod, but as soon as it finishes trying (I think it says it's 'updating') it says the network connection has timed out. What should I do?
Cool1682 what does this have to do with the poster's problem: " Alternatively, you can use find my iPhone and remotely wipe it. You can send the command via www.icloud.com"?

how can we get the data from a locked ipod touch or even how to get the passcode

Connect the iOS device to your computer and try to make a backup

Then restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased. Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode if necessary to allow the restore.
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

For how to restore:
iTunes: Restoring iOS software
To restore from backup see:
iOS: How to back up
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
If you can't make a backup, you only way to get data is to:
- Restore from an existing backup
- A data recovery company
- Maybe via How to perform iPad recovery for photos, videos

I forgot my ipod touch 5 passcode, itunes wont let me restore
Okay so heres the problem: i have forgotten my password to my 5th gen. Ipod touch. I have tried restoring it, didn't work because of the find my ipod thing. So i put it in DFU mode and itunes told me that it could take up to 60 hours to update and restore. My mother kinda flipped at the idea, but said okay go with it. Half an hour later the whole thing was interrupted and little box came up and said it timed out. I really need help here please! I'm using my old ipod
Try disabling the computer's antivirus and firewall.
- Next try the manual install method of:
iDevice Troubleshooting 101 :: iPhone, iPad, iPod touch
Place the iPod in recovery mode after the firmware download is complete and then restore using the instructions in the article. Sometimes recovery mode timeouts and returns to disabled before the firmware download is complete.
- Then try on another computer -

If you have Find My iPhone enabled, you can use Remote Wipe to erase the contents of your device. If you have been using iCloud to back up, you may be able to restore the most recent backup to reset the passcode after the device has been erased.
You can also wipe by on a computer/s browser, going to icloud.com>FindMyiPhone -

I forgot my ipod touch password. How do I get in?
So a friend gave me his ipod touch for Christmas one year. I kept and used it forever. However when I got my cell phone I no longer used the ipod touch. It wasn't until here recently that I decided to get back on my ipod touch and when I did I realized that I couldn't remember the password. I tried everything I could think of and it just isn't working. I tried to restore my ipod but when I attempt to do so it says that my device is not connected to the internet. How can I connect to the internet if I can't get on my Ipod??? How can I get on my Ipod without internet???? I've been at this for hours and I have done everything I could think of. Somebody PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

Forgotten Restrictions Passcode Help
iPad,iPod,iPod Touch Recovery Mode
You will need to restore your device as New to remove a Restrictions passcode. Go through the normal process to restore your device, but when you see the options to restore as New or from a backup, be sure to choose New.
You can restore from a backup if you have one from BEFORE you set the restrictions passcode.
Also, see iTunes- Restoring iOS software. -
i don't have access to a computer and so,without physically attaching my iPod touch to PC devices, can you manually restore an apple iPod touch, restrictions passcode online to iTunes and restore it to store purchased factory settings?
Sorry but no. The only way to restore an iPod to factory settings is through iTunes on a computer. You will need to get access to a computer somehow. If you can get to an Apple Store, they can probably help you.

Well, i forgot my ipod touch in the car, and it snowed so bad and the temperature drop below zero. I thought my ipod was just battery dead, but when i charged it, only the Apple logo comes on and then blank screen. How can i reboot, or reset?? is the battery affected even though the phone wasn't wet??
As long as no moisture got in it... 1st thing to try is give it a few hours to warm up and fully charge the battery, then see if all is working by turning it on. Cold can effect the function. If still not working try a soft reset. Press and hold both the power and home buttons together until the Apple logo appears, about 15 seconds. Then release both buttons. If that does not work connect to your computer via cable go into iTunes and try Restore from backup. If all else fails, Restore to new. If that doesn't work contact Apple Genius Bar to have your iPod evaluated. Good luck.

TS1398 I forgot my ipod touch's wifi password? Please help me!
I forgot my ipod touch's WiFi password! I have tried everything posted on the internet. Isn't there some way to go through itunes to reset it? Please help me - I want to give it to my 9yr old son!
The wi-fi password has nothing to do with the ipod.
It is the password that you set up on your wi-fi router. -
Forgot iPod Touch 4th passcode. Trying to recover and restore doesn't work!
My daughter got new iPod Touch for Christmas. She added a passcode for fun, but promptly forgot it. According to support, I'm supposed to put the iPod in "recover" mode and then "restore" it to erase everything including the passcode. However, I've tried it like 100 times and it just restores back to saying it's my daughter's iPod and asks for passcode. I even tried deleting the backup records under preferences/devices and it still does the same thing! HELP!!! How can I get the computer to totally erase the iPod so I can start over!
P.S. Apple could have cooked up an easier
way to recover a passcode -- a hint option or something. My goodness!- You are placing the iPod in recovery mode right? See the following for recovery mode:
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808
- Next try placing it in DFU mode and restoring.
http://geekindisguise.wordpress.com/2009/07/16/how-to-put-ipod-touch-iphone-into -dfu-mode/
- Are you try to restore from backup with the backup having the unknown passcode? You can delete the backup by going to iTunes' preferences under the Devices tab.

I haven't used my iPod touch in 1 year and I forgot what I had set the passcode. I now need it and need a way to recover it, or if restoration is the only possibility.

Forgot ipod touch restrictions passcode
So my mom put on a restrictions a few years ago with my old itouch, and we never bothered to take it off. When I received my new ipod touch this christmas, i backed it up to my old data, which unfortunately included the restrictions. Now my mom and I want to lift it but we forgot and have tried and tried every combination we had ever used. I DO NOT want to restore I. DO NOT! some people say i can do it with a mac, but I only have a PC.
So, Long story short:
I want to lift restrictions
forgot passcode
DOES NOT WANT to restore<
and doesnt have a mac- If you are up to it see:
