I got logic pro and i was wondering if possible paying a little less for an upgrade!! or do i have to pay the full price for the pro x?!!!
Or if apple would work around this some way or another?

If you bought Logic 9 less than a month ago then Apple will most likely refund you so that you can buy Logic X instead.
The full (only) price of Logic X is as staed on the App Store. This price (whether people agree or disagree, like it or not like it) is still less than any upgrade price for any other DAW.
A lot of people here are saying they bought Logic 9 6 months or a year ago and want a cheaper price. For me, I started on Logic 5.5. Logic 6, you could pay an upgrade price that was way over what the full app is now but you had to add costs as things like Space Designer were extra. Their serial numbers, once purchased, got added to you XS Key, which was a dongle that never got hacked in 6 and a half years.
Apple, on acquiring Emagic, dropped the price from $1000 to $499, included all the things you had to pay extra for then dropped the price to what it is now once they went over to the App Store. They also dropped the un-cracked dongle.
So myself and a lot of other people here went 5.5 to 6 (added the goodies that were extra) to 7 to 8 and to 9. When there was an upgrade price, the price was around what the app is now.
I'm amazed at how many people see this as a full price and want money off whereas in reality a complete piece of softwaser is being offered for an upgrade price.
My first paragraph will answer your question and you probably won't care about the rest of the post. $199 or £139 IS an upgrade price.

You can transfer iTunes content from an iTunes library on a single computer only.
Since these songs were purchased with the same iTunes account, you can download the song that is not in your iTunes library on the computer you will be syncing your iPhone with. Or you can download the song or songs direct on your iPhone.

Your Credit is Ready to Be Activated
    Dear Apple Customer,
You previously received an email informing you that you were eligible for a credit in your Apple iTunes account. The credit results from the Settlements reached with publishers Hachette, HarperCollins, Simon & Schuster, Macmillan, and Penguin in antitrust lawsuits filed by State Attorneys General and Class Plaintiffs about the price of electronic books ("E-books"). Apple Inc. is not a party in these settlements. If you did not receive that email, you can read more about the Settlements at www.EbookAGSettlements.com.
We are happy to inform you that the Court in charge of these cases has approved the Settlements, and an account credit is ready for you to activate. You can activate your account credit in the same way that you redeem an iTunes Gift Card. I can't promise you that it is legitimate, but a bit of research suggests that it well may be. The domain of the site given is run by Rust Consulting, Inc. who apparently act as agents in this sort of case. These websites turned up in the research:

At least it's not the usual scam, which is trying to get your logins and bank details - indeed if it is a scam it's a very complicated one. Approach with caution; I should try phoning rather than emailing them. And whatever, don't give anyone your logins or bank details.

  • I have a separate keyboard and mouse to use for my 13" MacBook Pro and I was wondering if there is need to actually "safely" disconnect such types of usb (like a printer) from the laptop! Thank you!

I have a keyboard, mouse, and printer that I connected to my 13" MacBook Pro through their provided USB cables. I wanted to know, do I need to "safely" disconnect these specific devices or is it ok to just pull them out? My reason why is that I had put in my USB blood glucose meter to charge on here and without thinking pulled it out––a message had popped up saying that I need to safely disconnect devices or they could become corrupted or something like that. I looked up information on how to disconnect a usb and they said that there would be an icon in Finder that I could drag to the trash and that would allow me to safely disconnect the device. If you have any information please help me because I got this laptop 2 weeks ago and I'm still learning a lot about it! Thanks for your time!

I use a usb adapter so i can have my mouse and other things plugged in all the time - i can safely disconnect the mouse and keyboard anytime with out having to eject - i would eject things like devices with IOS and external hard drives.

If You Are Locked Out Or Have Forgotten Your Passcode
iTunes 10 for Mac- Update and restore software on iPod, iPhone, or iPad
iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen
    iOS- Understanding passcodes
If you have forgotten your Restrictions code, then follow the instructions
below but DO NOT restore any previous backup. If you do then you will
simply be restoring the old Restrictions code you have forgotten. This
same warning applies if you need to restore a clean system.
A Complete Guide to Restore or Recover Your iDevice (if You Forget Your Passcode)
If you need to restore your device or ff you cannot remember the passcode, then you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and re-sync the data from the device (or restore from a backup). If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present. Refer to Updating and restoring iPhone, iPad and iPod touch software.
Try restoring the iOS device if backing up and erasing all content and settings doesn't resolve the issue. Using iTunes to restore iOS devices is part of standard isolation troubleshooting. Restoring your device will delete all data and content, including songs, videos, contacts, photos, and calendar information, and will restore all settings to their factory condition.
Before restoring your iOS device, Apple recommends that you either sync with iTunes to transfer any purchases you have made, or back up new data (data acquired after your last sync). If you have movie rentals on the device, see iTunes Store movie rental usage rights in the United States before restoring.
Follow these steps to restore your device:
         1. Verify that you are using the latest version of iTunes before attempting to update.
         2. Connect your device to your computer.
         3. Select your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch when it appears in iTunes under Devices.
         4. Select the Summary tab.
         5. Select the Restore option.
         6. When prompted to back up your settings before restoring, select the Back Up
option (see in the image below). If you have just backed up the device, it is not
             necessary to create another.
         7. Select the Restore option when iTunes prompts you (as long as you've backed up,
you should not have to worry about restoring your iOS device).
         8. When the restore process has completed, the device restarts and displays the Apple
             logo while starting up:
After a restore, the iOS device displays the "Connect to iTunes" screen. For updating
to iOS 5 or later, follow the steps in the iOS Setup Assistant. For earlier versions of
iOS, keep your device connected until the "Connect to iTunes" screen goes away or
              you see "iPhone is activated."
         9. The final step is to restore your device from a previous backup.
If you can not restore your device then you will need to go to recovery mode.
Placing your device into recovery mode:
Follow these steps to place your iOS device into recovery mode. If your iOS device is already in recovery mode, you can proceed immediately to step 6.
         1. Disconnect the USB cable from the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, but leave the other end
of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
         2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the
red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake
and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off, release the Sleep/Wake
              and Home buttons.
         3. While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device.
The device should turn on. Note: If you see the screen pictured below, let the device
charge for at least ten minutes to ensure that the battery has some charge, and then
             start with step 2 again.
         4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen.
When this screen appears you can release the Home button.
         5. If necessary, open iTunes. You should see the following "recovery mode" alert:
         6. Use iTunes to restore the device.
If you don't see the "Connect to iTunes" screen, try these steps again. If you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen but the device does not appear in iTunes, see this article and its related links.
    Additional Information:
Note: When using recovery mode, you can only restore the device. All user content on the device will be erased, but if you had previously synced with iTunes on this computer, you can restore from a previous backup. See this article for more information.

i recently bought a macbook pro and i made a new apple id. my last macbook had a different id as well and i was wondering if there's a way of transferring all my music from the other laptop to the new one without having to use my old apple id? if it makes any type of difference i have an iphone 5 so i tried transfering the music but it only transfered certain things and not my entire album.

Making a new Apple ID was the worst thing you could of done. This is very bad to do. Not sure why people do that. Your Apple ID is Your Apple ID. You only need one and it is best to only have one Apple ID for all apple devices.
Sorry I don't have any suggestions for you.

You can sync it to your iPod by:
To sync to your iPod go to iTunes>Help>iTunes Help>Sync your iPod.... and follow the instructions.
You can also redownlaod iTunes purchases directly to the iPod by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

  • I am going to university this fall for engineering and I was wondering which macbook pro (13 or 15 inch) would be better.

I am going to university this fall for engineering and I was wondering which macbook pro (13 or 15 inch) would be better. Is the larger screen worth the extra weight ? I will be doing some computer programming and I feel like reading code on a smaller screen could be a bit of a pain. Also, what is the best option in terms of backup? I don't anticipate having a lot of video but I will have some pictures, music files as well as regular documents and spreadsheets. I'd also like to get an idea of how good the battery life is. Thanks in advance:)

The 13" will do the trick for what you describe as your needs, Be sure to consider how you will backup your data -- need an external drive?
Also be sure to check with your college or division of study to see what they recommend. If they are hostile to Macs, you may be on your own for finding support. But in most major cities, that will not be too hard.
