my old system crashed and the disk with my itunes library was lost. I've loaded iTunes on my new computer. How can I recreate my songs? Can they be loaded to the computer disk from my iPod nano?

Important: The first time you connect iPod nano to a computer that it’s not synced with, a message asks if you want to sync songs automatically. If you accept, all songs, audiobooks, and other content are erased from iPod nano and replaced with songs and other items from that computer.You can prevent iPod nano from syncing when you connect it to a computer other than the one you usually sync with.
Turn off automatic syncing for iPod nano:
In the iTunes Summary tab, deselect “Open iTunes when this iPod is connected,” and then click Apply.
If you turn off automatic syncing, you can still sync by clicking the Sync button.
Transferring purchased content to another computer
Content that you purchase in iTunes on one computer can be transferred from iPod nano to an iTunes library on another computer. The other computer must be authorized to play content from your iTunes Store account.
Authorize another computer:
Open iTunes on the other computer and choose Store > Authorize This Computer.mm
Transfer purchased content to another computer:
1 Open iTunes on the other computer and choose Store > Authorize This Computer.
2 Connect iPod nano to the newly authorized computer.
3 In iTunes, choose File > Transfer Purchases from iPod.

Everthing was replaced including the information under iCloud under settings. My iPad now states that I do not have my iCloud account set up on my iPad as on the old one I did not.

Go to Settings>iCloud and set up the iCloud account you were using before by singing in with the same Apple ID. Then turn the data you were syncing with your iCloud account back to On, and if prompted, choose merge.

You can certainly use your old account on any computer/device.
You cannot merge accounts.

Woops, big mistake not backing up, since you only get ONE download from the store; no more downloads will be coming to your new PC.
Do you at least have your purchases on an ipod? You could authroize the new PC, then do itunes menu > file > transfer purchases from ipod.

My old os is Windows XP and my new os is Windows 8 if that is of any relevance to a possible solution. I do not have an external hard drive but do have a memory stick if it is possible to load the individual playlists onto it.

You can get your information back if you have previously done a backup in iTunes or iCloud.

You might consider itunes match for moving CDs you've copied into your itunes library if you dont have a way to use home sharing.
iTunes match is an optional service offered by apple that costs about $25 a year. It scans your music library and if it finds music that is already in apple's itunes catalog it'll automatically "unlock"/"store" these in the cloud for you. Restore them to the new computer using the bakcup of the old one. If you don't have a backup of the old computer, you can re-download music purchased from the iTunes store. If they were imported from CD's, etc. You will either have to re-rip them or purchase third party software to extract them from the phone. The iPhone is not a backup or data transfer device.

Registration has always been optional, so there is no point in trying. Those pages on the Adobe site are long gone. CS5 crashing is another matter, but without some crash logs and more detailed system information nobody can realyl know. This could be a mundane permissions issue on some files, could be a crash with the hardware acceleration stuff but just the same could be the activation system failing. Impossible to tell based on your limited information.

This is what it says under "iTunes will back up the following information":
Contacts* and Contact Favorites (regularly sync contacts to a computer or cloud service such as iCloud to back them up).
* Your contacts are part of the backup to preserve recent calls and favorites lists. Back up your contacts to a supported personal information manager (PIM), iCloud, or another cloud-based service to avoid any potential contact data loss.
Sounds like you may have experienced some of the "contact data loss". I suggest using iCloud in the future.

A few years ago I bought LR 3 last year I upgraded it to LR 4. The question I need answered is this: I had to buy a new computer and when I downloaded LR 4 I placed the serial number as requested, but it needs the SSN to LR 3. I don't have it and have it.

Adobe shut down the activation server for CS2 and earlier a couple of years ago. In its place, they made available a new non-activation version of CS2. As an existing CS owner, you're entitled to download it.
Download and install the non-activation CS2 from Error: Activation Server Unavailable | CS2, Acrobat 7, Audition 3
Use the new non-activation serial number on that page. Your existing serial number will no longer work.
PS I presume you're using Windows. The CS2 version will not install or run on modern Intel-based Macs.
