I had to change to a new Apple MacBook Pro. I deauthorized my old computer, authorized the new one and less than a quarter of my media shows up in the new computer. Everything that was downloaded from a cd is missing. Any help?
I had to change to a new Apple MacBook Pro. I deauthorized my old computer, authorized the new one and the only media that shows up are items with a cloud. Everything that was downloaded from a cd, including personal movie files, are missing. It's as if my former library is gone. How can I find it again? Or is this just Apples way of screwing with me?
No. Firewire and Ethernet are not the same. Ethernet would be used to connect the computers to your network. A Firewire cable is used to connect the computers directly. They are different ports.
The above shows what an Ethernet port and a Firewire 400 port look like.
These are the plugs used for FW800 on the left and FW400 on the right.

I have lost my Iphone and never activated my Icloud on my phone. Is there anyway of locating it whereabouts??? Also Who ever has my phone has downloaded find my phone. Is there anyway Apple can find out the address that was downloaded from??
Unfortuantely, you can only track the phone if you had set up iCloud and enabled Find My iPhone on it before it was lost or stolen. I don't believe there is anything that Apple can do to locate your phone either.

I have a new apple MacBook Pro. All my music is on my old computer and my i-pad. What is the easiest way to transfer my music onto my new
computer?apps
If you have an iPod touch or iPhone with iOS 4 or later software, or an iPad, you can use iTunes to transfer files between your computer and an app on your device that supports file sharing.
You might want to do this if, for example, you want to save files you create on your device to your computer, or take files with you so you can use them when you’re away from your computer.
You don’t need to sync your device to transfer files, but your device needs to be connected to your computer.
For information about supported apps, see the documentation for your apps.

To transfer files from your iPod touch, iPhone, or iPad to your computer:
Connect your iPod touch, iPhone, or iPad to your computer.
In iTunes, select your device (below Devices), and click the Apps button.
Below File Sharing, from the list on the left, select the app on your device that you want to transfer a file from.
From the list on the right, select the file you want to transfer, and click “Save to.”
In the window that appears, select the destination where you want to save the file, and click Choose.
The file is saved to the selected destination on your computer.
SImport music and video already on your computer
If you have audio or video files on your computer, you can import them into iTunes so that they appear in your iTunes library.

Here are ways to add items from your computer to your iTunes library:
Drag a file or folder from the Finder to the iTunes window.
If you add a folder, all the files it contains are added to your library.
In iTunes, choose File > “Add to Library,” locate a file or folder, and then click Choose.
By default, iTunes places a copy of each audio file in the iTunes folder (Home/Music); the original file remains in the current location. For information about adding an alias to the file (instead of creating a copy), see Add items to your library without copying them to your iTunes folder. -

Upgrading to Snow Leopard
You must purchase Snow Leopard through the Apple Store: Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard - Apple Store (U.S.). The price is $19.99 plus tax. You will be sent physical media by mail after placing your order.
After you install Snow Leopard you will have to download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 to update Snow Leopard to 10.6.8 and give you access to the App Store. Access to the App Store enables you to download Mountain Lion if your computer meets the requirements.
Snow Leopard General Requirements
1. Mac computer with an Intel processor
2. 1GB of memory
3. 5GB of available disk space
4. DVD drive for installation
5. Some features require a compatible Internet service provider;
fees may apply.
6. Some features require Apple’s MobileMe service; fees and
terms apply. -

I just bought myself a brand new apple MacBook Pro yesterday. Today while using it it has froze on me twice for no apparent reason. Does anyone know why this is happening?
Or have it replaced. Unless you've added a bunch of strange stuff, this shouldn't happen to a brand new one. Let your local Apple Store get you going with a MBP that works perfectly.

How do you save an image that was downloaded from an email into pages to my album?
I had a friend email me a word document with images in it. The document was downloaded onto my iPad and opened in the pages app. I would now like to save the images from this document into my album so I can use them in other applications. I know how to save from the internet but cant get those save image options when I click on the image in pages. Also had a friend send a powerpoint that downloaded in pages. Would like to use images from that file as well. Help please!
I am taking a guess here. The photo does not actually reside on the iPad or in the document itself, so you can't save it to the camera roll. You are just seeing the image on the screen. It may even print, but the photo itself is not on the device, so you can't save it.
Ask him to email the photo itself. -
Can't delete music that was downloaded from itunes wirelessly.
If I download music from itunes app, it seems to be permanent. I have tried syncing with "manual" and "only checked music" options (and without) and I simply cannot delete those songs on my phone. Anything that I've ripped from CD or downloaded from iTunes to my laptop are removable via syncing.
thanks for any help with this.
Message was edited by: SabicasOk, I figured it out, sort of. I mentioned that I had "sync only checked songs" and "manually manage" both checked. I went to the iTunes music tab and the "Sync Music" checbox was unchecked. I checked it again, which of course unchecks "manually manage". I told it NOT to transfer purchased items and synced. the songs are finally deleted but I have to say this iTunes is not as intuitive as it should be. I still don't get what I just did. Trial and error.........

How do I download Lightroom 5 on my new MacBook Pro? I purchase it online from Adobe in 2013.
Go to the Creative Cloud App on your computer or to the website and do the trial. After you do this, you should be given the chance to enter your product code at some point

I am unable to see a song from iTunes music that was downloaded from the iTunes store
I downloaded a tune from the Itunes store and when I try to add it to a project in iMovie, it does not show in the Music list. Is there way way it can be shown to use it in an iMovie project?
Weird indeed, but I have seen this before.
Close and repopen iTunes. Close and reopen iMovie.
Still not there?
Reboot your Mac. -
I have a Macbook running Snow Leopard which I back up to an external drive using time machine. If I purchase a new MacBook pro and transfer backup from time maching to MacBook Pro will it also transfer Snow Leopard as its is my preferred O.S.
Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
If the new computer did not originally ship with Snow Leopard installed, no, you will not be able to go back from Lion. Snow Leopard lacks the necessary drivers required for newer hardware. -
New Apple Macbook Pro...data corruption
Apple is warning users of its latest Macbook Pro about an issue with the laptop that may cause data corruption. The tech giant released a firmware update on Wednesday to fix a problem on the laptop's flash storage component. The 15-inch mid 2015 range Retina model is affected, with corruption occurring in "rare cases", the company said.News of the warning comes as thousands of Macbook owners are campaigning for action over stains appearing on the laptop's retina screen.http://www.bbc.com/news/technology-33652239(Incidentally...this device has a starting price of £1599......)
When I was a lot younger I vowed I would NEVER say 'in my day etc etc etc'....so I wont....Instead I will say when my Mum and Dad bought their house.....it cost them £350......
